[Music] the passion runs deep here in Norman Oklahoma or as they say sooner born and sooner bred and when I die be sooner dead welcome to Oklahoma and the home of the Sooners today we have one of those games that test your focus top 25 teams against an unranked opponent can you take care of business as we'll see a squad from the AAC the temple out taking on the 14th ranked team in the land the Oklahoma Sooners for EA Sports college football ree Davis with you alongside David Pollock and Jesse Palmer and guys can't wait to get this one [Applause] started Temple about to kick it off and get this game underway on the move from inside his SP he was hoping for something a little more Dynamic that they get him on the ground at the 20 so Oklahoma's offense will have the first possession of the game and here comes the quarterback and one thing you know for sure with this team as he goes so goes the offense and he's a big time Talent Reese this guy can hurt you in a multitude of ways throwing and running the football he's going to have to be dialed in though because this defense is going to him a lot of different looks it's really important mentally this QB is on his game and the Sooners moving quickly to the line the give to the back they bring him down but a solid pick up to put them in position to pick up a first down simple power play power football be strong be big be physical make it a fourth quarter game make them feel you keep them all bance so they're facing third and short from the 25 to the ground with the back tackle is made after the first down and I think on that last run play on third down here early in the game they're making a statement that we believe we're the more physical team and we're going to run the football even if you know it's coming at you nice job they've got the ball at Midfield I expect to see more run plays coming up the Sooners have it with a first and 10 now they'll run the draw pretty good job of running to get two there to the 32 I'll tell you this is a running back who's very very dangerous and the defense did a good job getting him down there but they got to do a great job gang tackling because this is a guy that can break tackles and turn those types of plays into home runs after picking up a couple it's second and eight give to the back they'll move the chains after he gets it to the 43 yd line you know Oklahoma's DNA is being tough they have a whole drill about being tough named after them the Oklahoma drill and they won that one yeah and we seen that kind of come and go some throughout the years but it started with serious physicality back in the day when they ran the option and just hit you in the mouth but you know football's involved and and that's the one thing about this offense can they keep their physicality and assert their physical the good Oklahoma teams are physical and how about that play by that giant that mountain of a man on the defensive front and they try to sneak the draw play in there and try to show pass right away get it to the running back defense not full in the slightest nice job getting up field getting to the running back getting him on the ground from the gun running back gets to give they stop him at the 42 but they're on a roll with a pick up of 15 and a first down I think it's really important for this offense they get this guy going early in the game and they're doing a nice job of that right now remember he's the Conor a running back who gets better as the game goes on that's a really good omen for this offense considering his success now early off the play fake on first down to throw snagged in the middle it's Burks and he almost ran away from everybody on that one a huge pick up on that play well you're seeing the balance this offense has and how they can create explosive plays in a variety of ways we just saw one come in the Run game game and now you see one coming in the passing game I'll tell you they've got this defense on their heels the Sooners racing to the line in the hurry up hand off from the gun PLS ahead for a pick up of four down to the 14 going to work on second down in the red zone is still some ground to cover to pick up that first down the inside hand off give him six on the play they'll mark it at the nine listen you got to be able to know what play to call and what hole to go through like the line blocks for a certain hole good job getting through the hole getting what was blocked getting a nice positive gain making your situation really good on the next they'd love to pick up this third down and get a fresh set with first and goal now on the option he'll toss it and he'll step into the end zone T downa and they just keep feeding it to their Workforce back to open this game great job in the open field he's got tremendous Vision he can make people miss you saw all of that on dis here in the opening [Music] drive now they'll line up for what they hope is automatic and the extra point is good and nothing they put together an 881 yd drive and what a way to finish it with a 9yd touchdown run just about set to kick it [Applause] away and he takes this from inside the five and the Return Man is stopped and that'll leave it up to the offense on the next drive so temples offense will try to get something started with their first possession here are our impact players for this game and it goes beyond executing an assignment to make an impact in the game yeah obviously we were talking to both coaching staffs this week and we asked them who needs to step up and play well they immediately pointed to these guys right here they are the key for their respective teams yeah and they don't always show up in the Box Score but these are the guys are the leaders these are the guys getting everybody organized and have to play well for their team to succeed this Crow full throat spreading the E drums and letting him know it's going to be a long day Smith takes the hand off the 30 out to the 33 and gain four on the play nice run there on first down you know this is a running back that gets better as the game goes on so they're going to want to make sure they keep feeding him the football let him get lathered up Temple lines up quickly they'll Run play action looking left makes a connection they'll get him down but not before he crosses the 50 he's down to the 49 and a really good job by the quarterback being very decisive he saw his matchup he went for it he attacked it got the positive game I would say he's going to find that guy a few more times today jange are set and Temple has it with another first and 10 used the play fake now to throw got it in the middle it's Morris and he was able to get away from one tackle but plenty of help was on the way decent pick up on that play you know I know it seems like an easy pitch and catch but for the tight end there that route potentially changes if it's man coverage so good job by him knowing it zone I'm just going to sit down this is basically like a check down right let's just take the easy pitch and catch and keep this drive done leaves it with the back on the move at the 30 what a good run there he has enough for the first down I'll tell you this defense in their front seven they're going to have to play with great eye discipline because they know they are going to see this type of misdirection in their run game and they got gash there now on First and 10 from the 26 he'll try to pop the draw blast his way ahead but not much room a pick up of one to the 24 man that D tackle is a freak athlete did you see him come out of his stance and beat the offensive lineman getting to the running back catlike quickness didn't get much on first first down it's second and nine looking to throw it's Brock using the quick game they make the stop but not before they do their work up top and pick up a first down nice job by the receiver there running the drag route against Zone coverage finding the soft spot making it easy on his quarterback to get the completion he turns it up field and he moves the sticks it is getting loud as this crowd tries to help its defense the give on the inside and he's able to find a little bit of Running Room before they get him down and a nice job by the running back finding space getting downhill making the good run great job finishing with his PS Temple lines up quickly from the gun the running back tries to hit the hole he works his way all the way down to the three and the defense is reeling and already this guy is leaving his mark on this game opening drive backto back runs where he's found a way to get positive yards he was able to pick up the First on that last carry they should keep feeding in the football the more success they have it's going to open up the Play action game power ahead and he'll be stopped for No Gain still sitting at the three yd line stopping the run is very high on every defensive coordinator's list making the team onedimensional nice job stuffing the run on that play right there these fans raising the volume on second and goal tries again to get it in he's got it down to the one yd line right on the step of P well he gets tackled down at the one yd line so offensively do you feel confident enough on third here trying to hand it off again yeah and I'm taking both these downs and I'm coming downfield I'm running the football trying to get this in the end zone I only got a yard to go I got to be physic we reach the quarter break with Oklahoma on top one period in the books and let's take a look at the stats [Applause] lots of time left and we ready to get back to it and open the second period so loud it's rattling your fillings on Third and goal he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple fourth down here it's still early in the game I'm not chasing points take the field goal pay this drive off and they have analytical cards nowadays that says the exact situation what the score is do you go for it or not look at the card make the decision and if the kicker can put one through this will be a successful drive from the left hash this one shouldn't be too much trouble and he missed it no good and they couldn't cut into the lead it's still a seveno game well everybody in the stadium thought that was an automatic three not so fast bad Miss by the kicker here comes the sooner offense back onto the field you want to talk about a drive where you impose your will that's what they did running it down for a touchdown David there is nothing more demoralizing than that for a defense to be physically pounded the run is coming you know it's coming and you can't stop nothing the defense can do that is mono Mano up front and your guys getting a push they know you're run running it and they still can't stop it and the Sooners will hustle to the [Applause] line they go to the draw Forge is ahead picks up about three to the 29 yeah and the running back didn't get much here but you know clearly want to always establish the Tipo run the football be consistent make that physically meet the challenge they'll try to muscle their way forward on Third and short from the 29 they'll try to bully their way for the first the Sooners are stopped but not before getting it past the sticks well no real mystery there and I think this coaching staff has a lot of confidence in their offensive line to get the push needed to give that back just a big enough crease to fall forward and get the first and it's so hard my room for error is so small when I'm a defensive line like I got to get off the ball as fast I can and try to get some form of penetration just stop that ball from going north south they don't do it there and they give up the first down he got a bunch and look close to getting a lot more but he's got the first down that's a nice run this guy has it all doesn't he he has speed he has shiftiness and he has power the power reminds me of an old great sooner running back Marcus ji arguably one of the most gifted Runners college football has ever seen a guy that didn't quite pan out at the NFL level because of injuries this dude has it in him though and I'm sure he's reminding a lot of people in this Stadium right now A good old Marcus to wants to throw on first down off the play fake and this sophomore able to wreak some havoc and get the sack often times with play action you're asking the quarterback to hold on the ball a bit longer and you're asking this offensive line to hold up and pass Pro a bit longer against this athletic front seven defense it's going to be [Applause] tough second down now after the sack they move the tight end all over looking for a physical attack from the gun they make the stop but not before he takes a chunk out of what they need to move the sticks keep pounding away at this defense make them play the run if you can get this many a chunk they're going to have to commit more guys to the Box more guys to the run then you open it up for the passing they line up with some serious work to do if they want to convert this one on third down he'll try to pick it up through the air and that pass is intercepted taking it the other way a sweet return after the pick and they'll have it at the 43 most defenses are lucky if you have one good covering Corner fewer are lucky if you have two they've got three DBS three corners that can play at the same time in their nickel package that they feel can go mono imano with anyone in the country and you saw it on that last play coming away with the pick Temple takes over and the owl will send the offense back onto the field we talk about settling for point points but sometimes when you have to settle for nothing David it can be demoralizing yeah it can definitely be frustrating and I think it leads you to say maybe I go for it more but Jesse I think this offense just needs to put another drive together and just finish Stronger Yeah and and be a little bit less predictable too especially as they get closer and closer down to the end zone movement from the linebackers trying to mess with the offensive Line's assignments here's the hand off that'll be a gain of about seven leaves him with third and three and runs like that are like body blows in a boxing match four five six yd gains early turn into 20 30 40 yd gains later they really wear down defenses and they test their physic out Temple lines up quickly [Applause] they'll try to move the chains on the ground and boy is he close to that first down maybe just a couple of inches short well the offense tries to pick up that first by running it on third down no can do and that's really been the theme all game long this defense has just been better at the point of attack shutting down this run game they would have needed a 50yd field goal from here so instead they'll keep the offense out there and go for it good pick up there he gets enough for the first down fourth and inches just trusting your offensive line they're able to get just enough movement at the point of attack to keep this drive going and the owls getting set on First and 10 they'll run it from the gun dropped after a pick up of three down to the 26 all right well the offense here they're trying to get this run game established they obviously don't break off a long run there but they're just trying to find their footing at this point after the three- yd pickup they come to the line Second and seven they'll run it to the right he's dropped behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a loss of three how about that defense in the back field nowhere to go right away you could tell they were playing the Run game all the way and they got in the back field we got the tackle from us if they don't pick up this third down let's see if they trust their field goal kicker after the Miss on the last drive to throw it's Brock got away from trouble and got rid of it can't make the connection on third down thanks to that tough hard noos pass defense and now it's Fourth Down tell you what I don't know if the offense was expecting man coverage that time third and long in fueld goal range you're expecting it to be Zone instead they lock him up manto man everybody on an island everybody W to get the incompletion Now setting up forth thought he had it and couldn't get it through the upright he missed it after that Miss still a seven game guys and you wonder if mechanically something is off with this kicker that's now his second missed field goal today and guys we've got almost perfect conditions to kick the football I'm not sure what's going on guys we'll get another look at this Oklahoma offense that last Drive was promising for a while but you just can't mess it up at the end with the pick Jesse no you got to be able to finish drives especially in this game if you're going to win in David they've got to be able to eliminate the MS yeah and I don't think you get conservative or play it safe you can trust your guy I think you put the ball right back in his hands and let him do his thing the Sooners want to pick up the tempo oh it's a reverse nowhere to run on that one he loses four on the carry you know as an offense often times you try the reverse play because you're trying to take advantage of a defense over pursuing and by a lot of defensive team speed didn't work right there great discipline by this defense Ball's at the 29 defense can taste getting off the field it's third and long catch in the middle it's burs they make the stop but the sweet throwing catches plenty to give him a first down well we know this guy is special and because of that his quarterback is looking to him on critical down and distances there on that third down there was no question it wouldn't have mattered if he was single covered double covered man Zone that's where he was going with it and the Big Time playmaker outside picks up the first fires to the middle off the deflection missed a great chance to force the turnover instead it'll be second down man that's a couple bad throws last possession obviously ends in an interception by this quarterback and now you throw another one you know In Harm's Way you got to make sure you're throw to the open guy make sure you're taking that football we can't have any more Ts from the gun they'll try to midle a 6 yard pick up that leaves him with third and four they're going to keep feeding this guy the football guys over a 100 yards rushing with that last carry now we knew coming into this game today they had to get the running game going they had to be able to turn around hand it off and get positive yards and set themselves up into manageable third down situations and we've seen them at any area of the field so so far in this one have success in the running game they'll keep that up until this defense proves they can stop it that's caught it's BS he gets it oh so close to the first down marker but I think he's going to be a touch short I mean good news here they get the completion bad news though not enough to pick up the first down the target there he's got to do a better job understanding where the first down marker is make sure he gets the right depth on his route now all of a sudden head coach has a big decision to make the ball hits at the five and it'll go into the end zone for a Touchback Temple takes over and the offense will return to the field grabbed in the middle it's Morris how about this backer in pass coverage and bringing the big hit stick with him too I'll say this man in college football you see a lot of bad tackling you didn't see it right there that was an awesome job first off being there at the point of attack once the tight end made the catch there was no he was going down great job for looking down field it's Brock find his tight end and a good job of coverage by that defense just a short pick up a timeout is called as this offense tries to find a way to get more points on the board before the half facing a third down and short from the 26 from the gun wants to pass he hurls one deep down the left side major gaps in that defense and he got loose and they finally knock him down at the 41 there's a Timeout on the field tight game here late in the first half he'll come out throwing on first down right on the money to the outside he dragged the toe and how about the ball placement only the receiver could get and I love the awareness by the wide receiver on that play because I'm not sure that route was supposed to be that deep you got to wonder if the receiver decided maybe to adjust the route a little bit to make sure that he got the first down now from inside the Red Zone pulls it in it's right and just a short safe pass play they pick up a few and a really nice job by the wide receiver you run a drag route find Space they're in zone coverage they're not covering manto man find a little hole look at that QB y'all get on the same page you could tell they were and that's why they got the first down one more snap coming before us boxes and orange slices they'll use a timeout right before halftime maybe time for one or two more plays and here on second down they'll send out the field goal unit to try to get three before the break and he'll try to knock it through from the right hash and 35 yds out no good and they couldn't cut into the lead it's still a seven-point game well the kicker's 0 for three right now in this football game game and we're going to find out just how mentally tough He Is We got some football still to be played they're going to need him but he needs to get right in his mind he's got to find somehow some way to get his confidence back and holding on to a first half lead this offense will play it safe take a knee and head to the locker room we played two quarters here time to go to Kevin Connors in our halftime update guys you've been calling a lively one from Norman so far and we've got to start our halftime breakdown with this Superstar running back his elusiveness his raw power this young man is the total package and his ability to catch the ball out of the back field is a differentiator a lot of guys can hit the hole this kid can hit the hole and hit the home run in the passing game with that said let's send it back to the guys at Memorial Stadium [Applause] and the Sooners will Bo away to start the second [Applause] half here he comes from inside his own five not a lot of space to be found good Hustle by the coverage team and they stop him at the 21 Temple takes over and the owl will send the offense back onto the field and then a lows scoring game like this one David every possession is magnified and I think more than anything it just gets frustrating and you got to put that behind you you got to see what this defense has been doing to be so successful caller now use it against him yeah David I think for a play caller this is tough right it's like you have to have the perfect play on just to get a first down in these types of games I think you're just trying to get guys out in space see if a dude can break a tackle maybe that generates an explosive play and it breaks this trend he's dropped behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a loss of three how about the defender being a heat seeking missile he was on radar lock he found the football and flew down with some bad intentions Temple lines up quickly looking to pass it's Brock pocket starts to collapse it's complete on the right side he's run out of bounds but a big play on that one and it'll be a first down yeah what a big catch on third down going up catching the football understanding where you're at now getting a fresh set of downs nice play by the receiver the owls have it with a first and 10 they'll run it out of the shotgun they'll pick up four second and Six coming small game I know but again the defense knows he's going to run the football he's willing to run the football not just drop back and pass make him on to the Run game you got to do a lot of this solid pick up of four on first down it's second and six from the gun they'll try to impose their running game they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one you know the runner just has to have a little bit more patience bounc that thing outside a little too early and as a result lost yards a chance to sort of put the defense on it heels if you convert a third and long this one from the [Applause] 44 off play action and there was nowhere to go for this quarterback and down he goes playaction pass success has a lot to do with selling that thing you could tell defense was not buying it got in the back field got the big [Applause] play Tempo lining up to pun it away they'll have to for the first time this afternoon on the return it's Bowen he gets it up to the 34 yd line before he stopped and that's where the offense will set up Shot line gets set first down from the shotgun the hand off to the back able to SCS three yard out of that one somehow it's second and seven it's just so nice to know you can start off on first down with positive plays positive yards hand the football off set up a good second down got three on first down it's second and seven looking for room it's ALU fouls through the defense they can rely on this guy to pick up solid yardage when they need it and he's out to the 43 I think tackling is about effort most of the time it's about how much passion how much physicality you can bring to get your guy on the ground refuse not to get him on the ground that's not a big back you got to get that guy on the ground you can't let him pick up an extra couple yards and stay ahead of the sticks quarterback on the keeper and gang tackling on this dude is a good idea they needed it but he still got the first down there's an example of the offense taking advantage of all the attention and the defense is giving this outstanding running back remember he's one of the best in the game they're expecting him to get the football so the quarterback says you know what I'll just keep it no one's keying on me I'm going to get up field and find an explosive play Red Pass it's complete he's brought down solid pickup but a little bit short of the first down I love offenses and quarterbacks that are willing to take the easy stuff take those easy throws that are guaranteed to get positive yards yeah I'm going to take big shots down the field too but don't forget it's easier to pick up second and five third and five than it is when we start getting those long yard situations from the gun the ground game they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one and the defense is going to have to have more like that he has had a ball game so far running wild all day long defense finally comes up with the stop maybe get a little momentum here over a 100 yards already in this game so if I'm on defense here I'm adding more guys to the Box anticipating that they're going to continue to give this guy touches today dropping back it's Arnold fir left it's C and they'll finally catch up to him but not before a big chunk of yardage is picked up well I think on that play you saw why this guy's such a big weapon in this offense that receiver he does such a nice job with his routes he's patient and he's consistent and he's got good hands you don't see him put a lot of balls on the ground nice job there picking up the first down he'll try the left side and maybe he'll get back to the line of scrimmage but no more than that maybe that stop shows this defense up especially in the Run game the offense frankly they've been able to do whatever they want to do they just handed the ball off this guy's having success left and right no sir no Moss get it together the Sooners are in the hurry up he's back to throw on second down pressure coming fires toward the end zone not much of a chance there he just had to get rid of it to avoid the sack and that was good defense again and unfortunately we've been saying that all game long really really good defense or listen you can spin on the other side this offense has really been bad third down conversions are a huge stat and this one would be a doozy if they can pull it off from the gun running back on the [Applause] and on fourth down here comes the field goal unit it's good and they'll push that lead out a little further [Applause] after that last field goal Drive they're set to kick it [Applause] away on the run from inside zone five and the return man has no place to run no place to hide and a place to be tackled the G to Smith works his way ahead for three they'll spot it at the 18 I never know if it's grammatically correct to say a team is being out physical you hear a lot in football though that's happening in this game they are just not getting the push they need all game long up front to have any success when they decide to run it after the three- yd pickup they come to the line Second and seven free snap Motion in the back field from the gun leaves it on the inside with the back a strong tackle and wrap up from the [Applause] junior third down in this off is already in a world of trouble they can really use the conversion not to mention multiple scores back to throw it's Brock trying to get to it and the defense makes a play sacking him back at the 10 that's a good example there of complimentary defense the DBS and linebackers are playing Zone they're playing their spaces and they forc the QB to to have to hold the ball try to work through his progressions and then the pass rush they win up [Music] front Tempo lining up away three and out they got stuck in Reverse they hope the punt can bail them out so from the shadow of his goal post he gets the punt away he gets a block he's brought down but a really solid effort to pick up every bit of yardage he could on the punt return here comes the Oklahoma offense and when your defense is performing like this pitching a shut out you want to find a way to reward them and help them out a little bit David and I guess the upside for this offense their defense has been so good but man oh man they've got to find something Jesse that they can hang their hat on something they can do to move the football it just feels like at this point they kick one more field goal in this is ball game because of how well their defense is playing so I think offensively just don't do anything stupid and give the game away trying to find his man on first down this sophomore quarterback just put it out there a little too far another completion and I've said that a lot and these teams are just struggling I mean the offense just doesn't know what to do nothing's working ground game Throw game it's kind of been a rock fight on both sides now facing a second and 10 from the 28 after that last incompletion he picks up four that'll leave them with third and six this offense came into the game knowing they wanted to be physical they wanted to establish the line of scrimmage and they're running downhill right this defense they're turning out positive yardage early the Sooners in the hurry up on Third and long trying to convert through the air working that left side now good job running that route to get past the sticks because he got nothing after the catch when you're a playmaker like this guy is your coaches are going to dial up plays intended for you especially on third down that's what you saw saw in that last play there was no question where the quarterback was going with that football all week long they decided on the biggest Downs of this game we're going to Target our best player and we're going to make sure that he gets looks it doesn't matter what the coverage is you saw it right there on that and he's brought down after a solid gain and that'll be the final play of the third quarter big catches big plays tons of yards through three quarters for these two guys [Music] not only is the scoreboard on their side but so too is time as we open the fourth keeps it on the bootleg looking to throw he's got it and still on his feet and he'll step across the sidelines after making a good gain on that one the defense has their hands full trying to stop this guy in the slot they're going to have to figure something out to bracket him try and get two bodies around and maybe get some safety help as well cuz right now they do not have the answer for this guy they'll try to get it through the air grabbed over the middle it's Burks and he'll take it in and house it touchdown sooner one of the reasons this offense is so exciting to watch they've got guys that are dangerous after the catch if this quarterback gets through his progression David he hits you in stride these guys will take it to the house man it's your job to do the rest right you hit me in stride where I don't have to stop running I don't have to break down it makes it so easy the connection between quarterback wide receiver you can tell this is a good one and that's why they got six on that play they'll try to add another to their lead extra [Applause] point and that extra point is a big one as they now have a thre possession 17-point lead in the four about to kick it off after punching it in for the [Applause] touchdown he'll bring it back from inside to SP nice job by the kickoff team everybody stayed in their lanes and they'll stop him at the 16 Temple takes over and the offense will return to the field fires to the right got him down field and he was loose and in the open field and on his way a tremendous pick up on that one and on that play great job by the receiver working his way through the traffic in the middle of the field that's a Crossing route it's going to take him a couple seconds to get all the way to the other side of the field but really nice awareness by him making the catch coming up with a big play they want to run it left here midf he's got room and excellent Vision to find Running Room there and make a really good pick up before the defense put a stop to it I think it's just too little too late David at this point that's a play that they could have used a lot earlier in this game but because of miscues they're down by a lot late and I don't think they're going to have enough time to claw back into this one yeah and I'm fine with you running that play if you want to do that my goal now is with this lead if you want to run so be it but just don't give up the big plays let that clock continue to roll make him earn it all the way down the field and take a lot of time off that CL makes the grab and it's enough for the first down before he's dragged to the ground you know it's funny I know running backs often times or afterthoughts when it comes to the passing game but when you think about it this guy's been making people miss his entire life taking handoff so why wouldn't you try to get him involved in the passing game as well you just saw in that last play how dangerous he is after the catch [Applause] quick release by the QB and the defense coming with bad intentions a knock him down for a loss well that receiver's looking at his teammates like guys what's up you're not going to block for me on the screen seriously I just lost yards on a screen play how does that happen Temple lines up quickly [Applause] to the air it's [Music] Brock he's got the tight end put it right on him sweet play good pick up and they'll move the chains with the first down I don't know who on defense is going to cover this guy honestly he could be a problem for this defense over the middle of the field in the passing game jar set and Temple has it with another first and 10 the give to the lone running back not a whole lot of room there three yard maybe second and seven and it's just simple simple first down run showing your physicality setting your offense up in a good spot got three on first down it's second and seven moving the running back forcing the defense to adjust they wrestle him to the ground but he's got plenty for a first down y first and the offense threatening close to the end zone now with a new set of downs he'll do it himself nowhere to run on that when he loses four on the carry they're trying to go option and they're trying to put that defensive end in the bind but he's just way too athletic and he guessed right the quarterback was keeping the ball he knew it and was able to make the tackle in the back field defense roll up deep in its own end on that last play now a second and long coming the run up the middle the power to the goal line relying on that running game inside the Red Zone he picked up three to the [Applause] 11 they'll come to the line and try to draw a little bit closer on Third and [Applause] goal to the air it's Brock fires to the end zone and swatted down by the defense to stop the scoring opportunity and that's just the kind of game it's been for this quarterback in this offense you got a great game planing all week long you're watching it throughout practice you think you're going to have a chance to light up the scoreboard but they're just not able to hook up you got to give this defense a ton of credit they've done a great job in coverage they've been breaking on passes they've had their number and that's why they're leading by as much as they are unleashes to the end zone and it's caught touchdown ows man what a back breaker for this defense you do such a good job backing him up making it fourth and goal making it a long situation and the offense comes through with the touchdown pass that's just heartbreaking for this [Music] defense ready to try the point after on for the extra point and the P will draw them one point [Applause] closer [Applause] Oklahoma about to kick it away after scoring the touchdown he'll start to return inside his SP not of space to be found good Hustle by the coverage team and they stop him at the 21 the sooner offense returns to the field leaves it with the [Applause] back running hard and getting six yds out to the 26 it's a point in the game I think as a coaching staff where you really challenge your offensive line to go win the football game right we've got a lead late we're going to run the football and the defense and everybody in the stadium knows that's what's going to happen can we run the ball down there their throats and impose our will that's what this offense right now is trying to do to give to the back a collision and he stopped at the 27 after picking up one and the Sooners headed quickly to the line scanning the field it's Arnold looking deep down the right side saged it at the 30 still running touchdown Oklahoma a great catch and run for six how about that quarterback taking the shot down field and delivering to the wide open receiver I love this quarterback re cuz he's aggressive he wants to take shots he's looking for every opportunity to show off that Cannon and that arm to you showed it to all of us right [Music] there lining up to add another and that extra point is a big one as they now have a three possession 17-point lead in the [Music] fourth lining up to cover the kick after that touchdown drive on the move from inside is five he was looking for some Running Room but not much to be found as he stopped at the 18 Temple takes over and the owls send the offense back onto the field they're bringing Heat and and he had it for a second but it just dribbled out of his hands you see an incompletion there I think a big reason why this team is in such a hole right now in the fourth quarter is they have just not been able to find the explosive plays throwing the ball and you got to wonder at this point is it too little too late after the misfire it's second and 10 he's looking to throw fires to the wide out how about getting the foot down on that throw for the big completion out routes are very much about timing you got it's got to be a quick decisive movement from the quarterback as soon as he sticks that foot in the ground you know he's breaking out throw it right now so he can go make you a play great pitch great catch they'll snap it on first down from the 35 he wants to throw he's got his man didn't pick up a lot there moved it Forward just a few you know at this point of the game guys trailing the way they are late in the game check down throws are not going to get it done you have got to be more aggressive in the passing game you're going to have to just start taking shots right on target with that last pass now it's second and medium dropping back it's Brock finds his big tight end they ripped off a big one and they get it down to the 27 let's go we got some we made a big play something to build off of we need a lot of points and we need him quickly time's running out we're trailing big in this ball game Temple lines up quickly going up top on first down finds the tight end and he might be known for run pitch but that was a sure and heavy tackle on the tight end nice quick throw there it's so important for quarterbacks to be able to find a rhythm and to be comfortable and confident you want to just get the ball out quickly make it an accurate and easy throw and you could tell that these two guys they rep that play in practice all the time and it's now showing up here on game Tempo looking for a touchdown from the Red Zone they're going to throw it again and the defense they got him at the 27 that's a play the defense needed right it's been a battle all game long here we are it's late everybody's tired they've given up a few yards on this drive but they come away with a huge sack at a big moment everybody has to be set they have to get it [Applause] off on third down going up top and the incomplete pass will bring up fourth down at this point of the game in the fourth quarter it is going to be tough for this offense to get some completions here because now trailing by this much the defense is expecting pass and they're putting a whole bunch of extra DBS on the field to help them out in coverage down by multiple possessions you can't come up empty on this drive they'll go for it on fourth down he'll take a shot throw to the end zone picked off and that's a really good job by the defense understand the situation of football it's fourth down it's late in the game you got a multi possession lead take away all the Deep stuff make them Force the football into coverage they do and they stamp this [Music] game here come the Sooners ready to go on offense firmly in control with this game we'll see if they just try to run out the clock and get out with the victory everybody on offense here should feel really good about their performance today too D they had a really good game plan coming in this one they went out and they executed at a very high level yeah lights out and this game's over interested to see the philosophy now do we keep chucking the pill and keep trying to score points because it's the defense's responsibility to stop them or do they just run this clock and say all right we did enough today we kick them in the face [Applause] they're going to ride this running back just a solid stop by this sophomore that's a really good job by the defense wrapping them up getting them on the ground take away that run game make them onedimensional put him in passing situations really good job by the defense picked up two yards on that last one they need eight on second down they'll ride the running back and leave it with him and the defense finally makes the stop after the sweet run and good
