[Music] looking for a productive play on first down running back searching for a hole that's that's the kind of play that can really get you going as they get it out to the 36 I repeat this guy listen I can run rpos all I want but I just need to know if it's a tie give it to this guy he'll make plays he's got speed he'll hit the hole just causing wreckage in the secondary he puts him in business across the 50 into the 46 yd line that'll me first down [Music] a new set of downs after the completion here's the hand off he is going nowhere stop at the line of scrimmage well trying to run the football there just nowhere to go they got dominated up front of the point of attack they got nothing on the last play it's second and 10 Red Pass it's complete he's brought down solid pick up but a little bit short of the first down I coach said don't never go broke taking a profit take what's there take the positive yards never complain now on third down this offense has been rolling can the defense Stand Tall they'll try to get the first through the air and the misconnection on third down and the offense tries to slip into screen that's a good play on Third and short if you can get him aggressive and a defensive aggressive but the defense sniffed [Applause] [Applause] it and the mid ship offense making its way back onto the field guys that last trip a little disappointing having to take the three yeah I think Jesse see so many offenses talk about getting yards and the tempo and all the stuff they do was a nice job moving the football but they got to get in the end zone this time yeah and I think to do that they just got to be more physical at the point of attack get some push up front they need to be the best running team in this game to win got away from trouble and got rid of it and a junior was late on the release and he threw it behind him and you've seen this formula work at all levels of football you pressure the quarterback his numbers start to drop he's not as efficient nice job by the defense power football with the run and he's not going to get there the defense Stands Tall and makes the stop [Applause] [Applause] got it first down here for the offense easy from the Red Zone it's Chapman he's dropped behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a losser you know you're in the Red Zone you bring out a bunch of tight ends on the field so the defense they were expecting run on that one they were physical and they were able to force the netive play not what they had in mind to start this drive here comes second and 13 floats it out in space and a good job of coverage by that defense just a short pick up listen I know that wasn't a huge gain it was positive but I like doing more of that in today's college football I'm just going to try to give my Playmakers a chance to do damage in space away from all the big boys inside third play of the drive and they need to take advantage of this field position by making something happen on Third and long quick strike complete and he's not going to make it [Applause] here's this offense with a fresh set of downs easy the give from the gun just buried it not much he could do there does pick up two to the 34 after picking up a couple at second and eight looking for a man it's Horvat just missed his man gave him just a little too much that's disappointing for the offense cuz that's a play that you rep all week long in practice you should be able to hit that one no problem QB receiver could come up with completion on Third and long he's going to have to throw for it got a wide open receiver and this junior loves to shot show off that big arm Here Comes Navy back to the line after picking up the first down sticks it in his belly he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple if they thought it would fool them to give it to the fullback that was not the case yeah give this defense credit they obviously watched a lot of film this week and they knew there were a lot of different guys offensively that could touch the football including the full and the Freshman will talk up a sack and the offense sprung a big time leak and the quarterback went down and when you're throwing the football you're trying to stop the best athletes in the world from getting to your quarterback they're going to get there they're pin their ears back get to the QB get the sack he gets it oh so close to the first down marker but I think he's going to be a touch short one of the things I love about this defense is they just have such great awareness and they're always communicating they understood the down and distance they knew exactly what they needed to do to make the tackle but Force the punt that is so well well done they'll run for it on fourth down well going for it and getting it on fourth down poose to mfield I think just gave this offense a ton of momentum I'm curious to see what they're going to do here maybe take a shot and see if they can really seize and capitalize on all this good mojo now going their way oh he dropped it and the defense jumps on it they get that turnover and this defense was all over when you bring a wide receiver across the formation they're communicating they were ready for it set the edge [Applause] got first down here with time for maybe one more play until the two-minute warning motion from the offense quick pass on the jet motion each brought down but he went backwards after that completion not the way they had it drawn up not what they had in mind to start this drive here comes second and 13 motion trying to get the defense to show its hands and they'll stop him after a minimal pickup the Run game just has not been working for this offense all game long saw it on that last play as well just not getting enough push up front on the offensive line they haven't been physical they line up and it is a Long Way to the sticks from here getting some heat the Freshman able to get home with the S [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] on the D down here for the offense back to throw it's Horvat fires to the wide out into double coverage and he picked it off touchdown hurricane how about that D coming up with a play like that awesome job by the linebacker there in carbage reading the quarterback's eyes spying the QB knowing where that ball was going to get thrown and then the ball just to pluck it out of the air and take it back for a touch awesome work the kick is good but the penalty flag indicates we've got a ruing the kicker call coming personal the kicker defense the officials offer the deal and the coach accepts it they will take the penalty they'll kick it off and send that defense right back out there to try to score again after the pick [Applause] [Music] six and here comes to Navy offense the big thing now don't get rattled by that last pick six David N it was a big mistake uh obviously the defense took advantage of it but you got to put it behind you Jesse I'm sure you know a thing or two about throwing a pick six and and how to rebound I believe I've only thrown one in my life but yes I do because of that singular instance I'll say this you can't let bat playay beat you twice you got to go out not try to get it all back here in one play Just execute the offense now leave it with him these little games can start to add up as he gets it up to the 34 listen you you got to be able to know what play to call and what hole to go through like the line blocks for a certain hole good job getting through the hole getting what was blocked getting a nice positive gain making your situation really good on the next down musling ahead on Third and short he's dropped behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a loss of three defense is about firing off getting off with some guys staying in your gaps everybody knowing where they're supposed to be you could tell the defense everyone was right where they're supposed to be nowhere to run he's got a first down and maybe a lot more and they'll finally get him down after a terrific pick up they'll put in play from the 41 on first down hand off from the gun good pick up there as he gets the first down and they'll Mark him at the 48 Navy quick to the line quarterback reacting to what the D is showing he'll finally get him on the ground but not before he makes it to the 30 and gets a first down offense in the hurry up right away after picking up the first down they go right back to their playmaker at running back and I love the push they got up front getting a hat on a hat opening a huge hole for the back and you become so hard to defend when you can run the football successfully on first down you're starting like that now what opens up play action now you're making me play pass and run this offense if they can create that run physicality now it opens up everything else back to pass it's Horvat got rid of it in a hurry but he couldn't find his man it's incomplete this will be the eighth play of the drive but a great opportunity for the defense to get off the field wide receiver now comes in motion on Third and long he'll need to loosen up that arm he took a hit as he [Applause] [Applause] offense getting set for first down they're going to throw it to start the drive it's complete on the right side the little toss to the fullback there didn't get big yardage but it does let the defense know they can't ignore it dang right it's a change up it's not going to be something I live with and do all the time and try to feature him out of the back field but if I can slip him the football every now and again and deter you from blitzing and assuming run when the fullbacks always in the football how bold will they be on third down after that last run they'll Run play action buying some timee that pass not close as he got thrilled trying to deliver it and it'll bring up fourth down this offensive line is not going to like watching the film back uh tomorrow when they get the opportunity because they have gotten beat time and time again up front especially in passing situations all of the hits all the sacks this quarterback has taken is the biggest reason why they're going to lose this game he's run out of vals but he's got enough to move the sticks Here Comes Navy back to the line after picking up the first down the give to the back he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple and now on second down for this offense yeah and this offense has to find a way to run the football they got to get more creative or whatever that looks like for this offense something to jump start them because nothing really going on the ground yeah defensively though you got to give them credit too because they knew that physically they were going to try to be challenged up front that was a big M Mo for this offense coming into it but defense they've risen to the occasion their front seven has dominated this entire game he's one out of bounds but a big play on that one and it'll be a first down well look that wasn't a touchdown that was a massive play for this offense they needed some momentum they needed to find a rhythm in what better way than converting on third down awesome job by the quarterback in and the defense doing a great job committing to the run when you commit to the run like this obviously you can give up some plays in the passing game but you got to stop the run first and they'll wrestle to the ground after a short game they want to continue this long drive nin play coming it's third and five to the air it's Horvat quickly complete third down conversions are huge and they've got one and they're at the 35 first down here with time for maybe one more play until the two-minute warning we reached the two-minute warning and we see miracles in college football all of the time and they could use one here one back in the back field he gets to carry Solid fundamentals on that tackle from this freshman and I think this offense has all but surrendered right like they're they're down so much they need to be throwing the football they want to score a bunch of points to get back in this game but they got to find something moving forward man this was a rough day this was not a great offensive performance they got to bounce back in the next opportunity the next moment because today it was not a good [Music] day they've moved to the 16 it's first and 10 from the Red Zone looking for a space pulls it in it's Howard that completion gets them inside the 10 and the defense is running out of room to defend operating in the red zone here on second [Music] Down Easy quarterback Quick Pass to the [Applause] receiver and this one will be stopped for No Gain got to give the defense credit watching film anticipating they knew that this offense had this play in their back pocket they knew about the speed of this wide receiver and different ways they were going to try to get him involved everybody on defense on the same page throw to the end zone it's picked off the number one objective for a defense is to make the offense one dimensional well when they're trailing by this much late in the game they're onedimensional they have to pass the football we can bring more speed on the field you see it we know you're throwing the football nice break on the football nice interception this one's almost a and he runs through one tackle and picks up a few well after backto back losses this team is really teetering on the edge of disaster they got to try to hold on to the positives as hard as that is to do right now having lost a couple back to back because this team has good players and they've got good schemes on both sides of the ball just things have not gone their way they just need to make a few more plays to turn this thing yeah and then they can do it and they will do it listen you you got to get the players right you got to get get those guys in there believing um this is part of what happens you got to take a few lumps sometimes take those
