WHOLE LOT TO LOOK AT IN THAT DRIVE. BUT MAYBE YOU WAIT FOR THE FALL COLORS. THAT'S LIKE THE ONE THING THAT YOU CHECK OUT, BUT THEN YOU MIGHT MISS FOOTBALL SEASON, I DON'T KNOW. >> WELL, YOU KNOW, GO ON A FRIDAY OR SATURDAY AND YOU'LL BE BACK SUNDAY FOOTBALL. >> HERE'S A LOOK OUTSIDE. SO THE ONLY COLORS WE'RE TRACKING RIGHT NOW ARE IN THE SKY, AS WE HAVE ANOTHER BEAUTIFUL SUNRISE OVER BELLEVILLE. BUT WE WERE EARLIER TALKING ABOUT FALL FOLIAGE AND NOT QUITE TRACKING COLORS YET. YOU MIGHT SEE A FEW LITTLE CHANGES ACROSS METRO DETROIT, AND THAT'S MORE SO FR STRESSED TREES. WE'RE NOT REALLY IN THE FALL CHANGE QUITE YET, BUT WE'LL TAKE THE COLORS FROM THE SKY WHEN WE GET THEM. CALM WATER, CALM WINDS 57 DEGREES AT METRO AIRPORT, 48 IN ANN ARBOR, 56 IN HOWELL AND 52 IN PORT HURON. KIND OF COINING THIS. WE ARE OFFICIALLY ENTERING THE SEASON WHERE YOU PUT A SWEATER ON IN THE MORNING AND REGRET IT IN THE AFTERNOON, AS WE ARE COOL AGAIN, NOT AS COLD AS THE LAST COUPLE OF MORNINGS, BUT IT'S STILL COOL. YOU'LL NOTICE A BIGGER DIFFERENCE, THOUGH, WITH THE WARM UP AND GROSEILLE AND SANDUSKY AT LEAST TEN DEGREES WARMER OVER THE PAST 24 HOURS. BUT AS WE GET THE KIDS OUT THE DOOR, WE'RE GETTING REALLY CLOSE TO THAT PICKUP TIME WITH THE BUS. 57 DEGREES COME PICK UP WILL BE RIGHT AROUND 80 AT 1:00 IN THE AFTERNOON. SO THAT MIDDAY RECESS AROUND THE LUNCH HOUR, CLOSE TO 80 AND AFTER SCHOOL ACTIVITIES PLANNED FOR MID 80S TODAY. AND YOU PAIR THAT WITH SUNSHINE. IT'S GOING TO BE HOT. YOU KNOW, ANOTHER GOOD REMINDER TO HAVE THE KIDS WEAR THE LIGHT COLORED CLOTHING ON A DAY LIKE THIS. AND THEN THEY WON'T FEEL AS WARM OUTSIDE WHEN THAT SUN IS BEAMING DOWN TONIGHT, 64 DEGREES OVERNIGHT. SO DEFINITELY WARMER TONIGHT BECAUSE OF THE INCREASED CLOUD COVER SERVING AS A BLANKET. BUT RAIN WILL RETURN BEFORE THE SUN EVEN RISES TOMORROW IN FACT, OUR MODEL DATA PICKING UP A FEW SPRINKLES BY THE TIME WE GET TO MID AFTERON TO THE WEST. BUT INGREDIENT WISE WE HAVE A REALLY DRY AIR MASS. SO EVEN IF WE DO HAVE SOME OF THAT MOISTURE IN THE CLOUD COVER, I DON'T THINK THAT MAKES IT TO THE SURFACE BECAUSE OF THE DRIER AIR THAT WE HAVE RIGHT NOW. AND THIS COULD BE MORE SO JUST THAT HUMIDITY BUILDING IN AHEAD OF THAT PASSING FRONT. BUT I CAN'T RULE OUT A STRAY SHOWER AS WE HEAD IN THE LATE EVENING. BETTER CHANCE THOUGH, AFTER MIDNIGHT. SO HERE'S A LOOK AT 2:00 AM. SOME SCATTERED RAIN SHOWERS IN THE AREA, AND WE'LL HOLD ON TO OFF AND ON RAIN EVEN INTO MIDDAY TOMORROW. AS FAR AS THUNDERSTORM CHANCES, WE'RE NOT LOOKING AT A SEVERE THREAT, BUT WE COULD HAVE A FEW EMBEDDED THUNDERSTORMS THAT ARE UP INTO THE THUMB. THAT'S THE BETTER AREA AS FAR AS SEEING THOSE CHANCES. NOW AS WE HEAD INTO THE MID LATE AFTERNOON, WE COULD BE LOOKING AT A LULL, BUT I'M NOT GOING TO RULE OUT A COUPLE STRAY SHOWERS ON THE BACK EDGE OF THAT INTO THE EVENING. SO WHAT DOES THAT MEAN FOR FRIDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL? WELL, YOU JUST SAW THAT WE'RE PRETTY MUCH DRY. BUT THERE COULD BE A COUPLE ISOLATED AREAS THAT STILL GET A PASSING SHOWER. SO PACK THE PONCHO JUST IN CASE, BUT DEFINITELY NOT A WASHOUT. TOMORROW 73 DEGREES FOR THE AFTERNOON HIGH. AND THAT IS THE START OF THE COOL DOWN. THE ONE THING THAT WILL BE GOING UPWARD THOUGH WIND SPEEDS. SATURDAY AND SUNDAY. WE HAVE THOSE GUSTS THAT WILL BE UPWARD OF 20MPH, SO MIGHT FEEL A LITTLE BLUSTERY BECAUSE HIGHS ARE ONLY IN THE 60S AND YOU PAIR THAT WITH WIND. IT'S GOING TO FEEL LIKE OCTOBER OUT THERE. SO FOR FOLKS HEADING OUT TO THE BIG HOUSE NOON KICKOFF ON SATURDAY, PLAN FOR 50S FOR TAILGATING 60 BY GAMES END, BUT IT WILL BE BREEZY. AND THEN ON SUNDAY WE'LL BE TOPPING OUT IN THE UPPER 60S, WHICH MEANS TAILGATING AROUND 6 P.M. MID 60S. WE HAVE THAT 820 KICKOFF AT FORD FIELD. SO WHEN YOU'RE LEAVING THE GAME 54 DEGREES AND CHILLY. SO BREEZY 60S THIS WEEKEND. BUT WE REBOUND INTO THE 70S PAIRED WITH SOME SUNSHINE EARLY NEXT WEEK. IN FACT, WE'RE NOT DONE WITH THE 80S
