TRYING TO SAY. IF THERE'S A POTHOLE TO BE FOUND, YOU'RE TIRED. YOU'RE GOING TO FIND IT. YOU WILL FIND IT. JUST NOT TODAY. YEAH. PLANS. YOU KNOW, WE HAVE SEEN ALL OF THOSE ORANGE BARRELS OUT THERE IN FULL FORCE. AND THE ROADS ARE CERTAINLY GETTING BETTER. AND IT SEEMS LIKE SOME OF THOSE CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS ARE STARTING TO LIFT FOR THE HOLIDAY WEEKEND. AND SPEAKING OF THAT HOLIDAY WEEKEND, WELL, IT'S A NICE START. IT WILL BE A LITTLE ROCKY LATER, BUT THEN WE'RE GOING TO HAVE A BEAUTIFUL STRETCH HEADING INTO YOUR HOLIDAY ON MONDAY. RIGHT NOW, DOWNTOWN DETROIT SITTING AT 70 AND MONROE IS ACTUALLY A LITTLE WARMER AT 72. MOST OF THE OUTLYING AREAS IN THE UPPER 60S. WE HAVE VARIABLE WIND OUT THERE FROM THE EAST SOUTHEAST, AND PRETTY MUCH ABOUT 3 TO 5MPH. SO VERY LIGHT WINDS AS WE LOOK AT SATELLITE AND RADAR. WARM FRONT LIFTS FIRST AND THEN WE HAVE A COLD FRONT IN ITS SHADOW. AND THERE'S JUST THIS LITTLE WEDGE IN BETWEEN OF WARM, HUMID AIR CLASHING WITH A COLDERIR MASS, TRIGGERING ALL THOSE SHOWERS AND STORMS THAT ARE PUSHING THROUGH MILWAUKEE AND EVENTUALLY CROSSING LAKE MICHIGAN AND HEADING OUR WAY SO WE KNOW IT'S HEADING OUR WAY. AND THAT'S THE EARLY MORNING HOURS WE'RE SEEING THAT DEVELOP. IMAGINE WHAT IT'S GOING TO BE LIKE IN THE PEAK HEAT OF THE DAY TODAY WHEN THAT FRONT ARRIVES INTO OUR AREA. OUT THE DOOR. SO WE WILL BE IN THE UPPER 60S THROUGHOUT THE MORNING, AT LEAST THROUGH ABOUT 8:00, 76 AT 10 A.M. WE'LL HAVE PARTLY TO MOSTLY CLOUDY SKIES LATER IN THE MORNING AS THOSE CLOUDS INCREASE AHEAD OF THE RAIN, BUT 90 IS THE FORECASTED HIGH AS THAT HEAT WILL RETURN BRIEFLY, AT LEAST IN THE WAKE OF THAT WARM FRONT THAT PUSHES THROUGH. BUT IT WILL QUICKLY BE REPLACED BY THE COOLER AIR. SUNRISE 657 810 FOR YOUR SUNSET. SO LET'S WALK YOU THROUGH THE HOUR BY HOUR. AND I THINK THESE TEMPERATURES ARE A LITTLE MORE CONDUCIVE TO WHAT IT'S GOING TO FEEL LIKE WITH THAT HUMIDITY. SO FEELING MORE LIKE 90 AT THE LUNCH HOUR. AND YOU CAN SEE HOW THERE'S SOME RAIN. WELL, TO OUR NORTH AT THAT POINT. BUT BY THE TIME WE GET TO 4:00 ONWARD, NOW WE'RE WATCHING SOME OF THESE DISCRETE CELLS BECOME A LITTLE MORE ORGANIZED AND LINEAR WITH THAT COLD FRONT OFF TO THE WEST FROM JACKSON, UP TOWARDS FLINT, AND EVEN INTO THE THUMB THAT'S GOING TO CONTINUE TO PUSH EASTWARD. WE'LL HAVE TO SEE IF IT STAYS MORE OF A LINE OR BECOMES A LITTLE BROKEN APART. BUT NONETHELESS STORMS ON THE EAST SIDE CLOSER TO ABOUT SIX. MY OVERALL WINDOW 2 TO 10. BUT I THINK PROBABLY 4 TO 7 IS THE TIGHTER WINDOW THAT WE SEE THESE STORMS ROLL THROUGH. ON THE BACK EDGE, THOUGH, WE'LL HAVE REMNANT SHOWERS LINGERING THROUGH THE OVERNIGHT. CLOSER TO THE STATE LINE. BY THE TIME WE GET TO THE PRE-DAWN HOURS ON SATURDAY, BY THE TIME WE GET TO DAYBREAK, WE'RE DRYING THINGS OUT AND SATURDAY WILL BE A DRY DAY. SO SEVERE THREATS ON TAP FOR TODAY. WE'RE LOOKING AT ISOLATED WIND GUSTS THAT COULD REACH OVER 60MPH, HAIL, FLOODING, AND EVEN AN ISOLATED TORNADO CAN'T BE RULED OUT WITH THIS LINE OF STOR, THOUGH, DAMAGING WINDS ARE MORE LIKELY BECAUSE OF THE COLD FRONT THAT BRINGS JUST THOSE STRAIGHT LINE WIND GUSTS. SO SEVERE RISK SLIGHT. THAT'S A LEVEL TWO RISK FOR MOST OF SOUTHEAST MICHIGAN TODAY, NORTH OF GROSSE ILE AND METRO AIRPORT. TONIGHT, 67 WITH A LINGERING SHOWER OR TWO. BUT AT THAT POINT, OUR SEVERE THREAT SHOULD BE OVER. AND THEN TOMORROW, 81, PARTLY SUNNY AND LESS HUMID. SO LET'S TALK ABOUT THE LONG HOLIDAY WEEKEND, ESPECIALLY FOR FOLKS THAT ARE TRYING TO SQUEEZE IN ONE MORE WEEKEND UP NORTH HERE, CLOSE TO HOME. WE'RE GOING TO BE AROUND 80 SATURDAY AND SUNDAY 73. SO MORE FALL LIKE BY MONDAY, BUT OVERALL PRETTY DRY. WE HAVE NSHINE UP NORTH, BUT WE'RE GOING TO TAKE A BIG DIP FROM SATURDAY TO SUNDAY. IF YOU ARE GOING UP TOWARDS THE ALPENA ARE. MACKINAW MID 70S SATURDAY, BUT UPPER 60S SUNDAY THROUGH MONDAY. NOW LET'S TRAVEL OVER TOWARDS TRAVERSE CITY. WILL BE AT 81 SATURDAY BUT STRUGGLING TO HIT 70 ON SUNDAY. LOW 70S FOR THE LABOR DAY HOLIDAY. A QUICK LOOK AT TUESDAY BECAUSE KIDS ARE GOING BACK TO SCHOOL TUESDAY. FIRST BELL 56 DEGREES IN THE MORNING AND THEN AFTER SCHOOL 74. SO TALK ABOUT A BIG DIFFERENCE FROM THE KIDS THAT WENT BACK THIS PAST WEEK. AND WE WERE DEALING WITH ALL THAT HEAT SATURDAY AND SUNDAY AT THE PEACH FESTIVAL THIS WEEKEND. EITHER SIDE OF 80. LABOR DAY THOUGH,
