welcome to Denton Texas home of the north Texas mean green and the fans have been waiting since early this morning for The Clash we have in store what an exciting matchup we have in store for you this afternoon built around the pentry tradition and everything that makes college football great as we'll see a squad from the Sun Belt the South Alabama Jaguar taking on a team from the AAC the north Texas mean greens for EA Sports college football I'm ree Davis joined here in the booth as always by David Pollock and Jesse Palmer guys let's tee this one [Applause] up the Jaguars will kick it away [Applause] first he'll start the return inside his five couldn't find a way to create that broken field as he stopped at the 25 so the north Texas mean green offense takes the field and they'll try to put together the first drive of the game and here's the man they rally around and he has earn that type of respect David you dang right you earn it by doing it and he's done it at such a high level everyone believes in this young man in Palmer there's a reason why you're right David he's been in the big moments and he's won the big games this guy delivers when the game is on the line this guy's like tackling a tree Stone man he's just so thick so compact just continues to break tackle after tackle you want to bring those arm tackles they're not going to work you better bring your whole body and you better bring a friend looking for space it's Evans and he's a real Nowhere Man and tackled in this no gain land defense is about firing off hitting the offensive guys and staying in your gaps everybody knowing where they're supposed to be you could tell the defense everyone was right where they're supposed to be nowhere to run ball sitting right at the 30 it'll be third and short wide receiver now comes in motion looking to throw it's Morris he's got his man the defense got caught that time and they finally get him on the ground at the 41 and the quarterback knew exactly where he wanted to go the football had time spins the ball deep nice job by this offense understanding what the defense is giv him and creating the explosive play North Texas has it going to work with another first down on the gun running back gets to give and a nyd gain on first down leaves him with second and short keep pounding away at this defense and make them play the run if you can get this many a chunk they're going to have to commit more guys to the Box more guys to the run then you open it up for the passing game North Tex in the hurry up the run from the shotgun stop is made at the 22 a 10yd pick up and a first down just outside the Red [Music] Zone north Texas really has it going on offense here's the hand off he drop behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a loss of three that linebacker was a heat seeking missile and the heat that he sought was the ball carrier yeah great job great feel linebackers are making all the calls in the defense and understanding when I need to come through that Gap and come through with bad intentions those guys are usually 245 pounds of heat seeking missile unloads to the wide out and they can't make the connection the seventh play of this opening drive will be a third and long looking down field it's Morris skips away from pressure quarterback gets enough he gets the job done picking up the first down then getting down these quarterbacks that just and bounce and bounce and and pull the ball down and make plays defensively you just got to keep coming you can't get tired um you can't get you can't get frustrated really it's the frustration that gets to you because they keep making plays and keep getting first downs got another opportunity coming up first and goal try to hold them to a field they'll keep it on the ground for first and goal and he'll finish the run in the end zone touchdown me green well you know this offensive coordinator opening 10 15 plays and he didn't even need that they went nine plays scored a touchdown everything working perfectly they look like a welled machine early in this game off now they'll line up for what they hope is automatic and the extra point makes it seven nothing so it's a 77 yd touchdown drive and he found his way to the end zone from the seven to cap it about to kick it away after scoring the [Applause] touchdown on the run from inside his own five nice job by the kickoff team everybody stayed in their lanes and they'll stop him at the so South Alabama's offense taking the field first chance we have to see them today as we take a look at our impact players for this game David what do you look for to make an impact from your leaders your leaders not only have to lead the football team but they got to step up and make plays on the field keep everybody calm these guys typically do a really good job of it yeah David and they also generally set the tone for their respective football teams regardless of which side of the ball they play on the teammates look towards them to step up in big games like this after the three yd pickup they come to the line Second and seven from the gun the ground game tackled but he has a first down and you know big chunks like this don't happen unless you commit to the Run game you got to get those big boys up front into the game understanding I want to knock people off the football create some holes like you do here for my running back make the game easy now first and 10 from the 27 power football with the Run he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple listen I know there are a lot of DBS out there that all they want to do is get interceptions and dance in the end zone this dude likes to put his face in the fan get close to the line of scrimmage and Tackle you on the opening drive if he's out there he gets a huge tackle for L early that is a stat play out of the gun the running back has it and they'll stop him just short of the first down just inches away from moving the sticks and I love this because you got second and really really long and what's the idea of the offensive coordinator get third and manageable nice job getting the Run not only a positive run shoot you almost got the first down now you're set up for good success on third down Lopez wants to fire the throw to the outside is complete and he's knocked down immediately but not before he moves the chains third and short and I guess the only thing they really took out of play in the shotgun was the quarterback sneak yeah and that's kind of what I like to do reys I mean third and inches I I want to run the quarterback sneak run the football but this team fully comfortable throwing the football and you see why easy pitch easy catch first down they're going to run it to the right Bulls his way forward and he goes out of bounds after a nice pick up on that one man when I can run the football like that on first down and create second and inches and stay way ahead of the sticks and and be in a position now where I can throw the football or run I will have a lot of success on the offensive side of the football they're about to run a dirty half dozen plays on this drive the give on the counter he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple offensively you want to run that counter right to try to take advantage of hyperactive defenses but just poor execution not a good job of understanding where I need to go when I bounce that thing backside and it bounced outside you want to take that thing inside so the offense needs to operate a little bit better and maybe not run as much counter because the defense got in there pretty quick on Third and short they'll go to the power running game that'll be enough for the first down as they stop him at the 43 yd line you know you start day one of training camp running your base runs you need a few yards you run these plays you need a first down you run these plays you rep them over and over and over again they not sexy they're not pretty but in the end they're effective and they get you that new set of downs when you need them they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one well the offense is trying to run the counter play into the boundary those pulling linemen though actually LED extra linebackers to the point of attack and as a result they were able to get a tackle for Los lost yardage on that last one it's second and 11 Lopez to pass B little time lets it Go and the defense settled in to stop that one for a short gain well this offense knew coming into this game they wanted to try to attack the middle of the field in the passing game and they're able to execute the end route there they line up and it is a Long Way to the sticks from here trying to make that Rush think on the draw play here really nice run rips off six on the play but it brings up a fourth and two the Jaguars decide to pun it away he ought to be able to use this first pin him deep able to keep them from getting a return and the ball goes out of bounds they're going to mark it right around the 20 North Texas sends the offense back onto the field they'll run it from the gun he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple they're trying to run the football there's just nowhere to go for the ball carrier inside he tried to bounce it to the outside that linebacker way too fast he met him there and forced the TF Out North Texas in the hurry up on second down he'll let it fly and he had it for a second but it just dribbled out of his hands man he was open he had an opportunity just got to look that thing a lot of times guys are catching it and as they're catching you see their head start to turn to try to think about getting up field they just lose that concentration for a second little missed opportunity there for this offense on Third and long he has to throw for it he lobs one high down the left side and that'll be incomplete they certainly weren't afraid to take a shot there and now it's fourth down oh and those are those where you're just looking at your hands left hand right hand left hand right hand dang it I should have caught that nice Play Break on the football that could have been a house call that could have been a game changer but just couldn't secure the interception North Texas will have to punt it away this will be their first punt of the afternoon not able to pop the big return but they've got the ball back and ready to go with a fresh possession the Jaguars offense ready to go back to work and off from the shotgun after the pick up of nine it's second and one after the good pick up on first down let's see if they keep it on the ground they'll run it from the gun they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one while the linebacker showing you read and react he knew exactly where that running play was going and he beat the football to the line of scrimmage and forc the tfl they're facing a third [Applause] down he'll pull it on the read just what they were looking for and he's got him set up in bus at the 35 with a first down well the defense came into this one knowing if they were going to stop the running game it wasn't just running backs but this guy also very dangerous when he takes go and Jesse you know what even if a defense knows that about the opposing quarterback there's something demoralizing about giving up a QB run well it's tough because this guy is so athletic he makes a lot of defenses feel pretty bad about they make the stop but this running game moves to change as they get the first down first down physicality wins football games being able to run the football and create balance and and right here just chews up another first down gives you another chance chance to maybe continue to run the football and I feel like this guy too is just an explosive play waiting to happen his vision his quickness and he's got a burst if you give this guy just a crease he's going to hit it and right now he's doing some damage on this defense I like the idea by the quarterback there you're trying to get this first down so you find the tight end see if he can make a guy miss or shake a tackle not able to get it done here comes the offense on second down fre snap motion quarterback trying to get a read moving away from pressure trying to make magic on the scramble and he has a solid gain on the play before sliding Hey listen it's important at that position to be able to be good off schedule everything's easy when it's on time you can get the ball out but when things break down they get off schedule you've got to have a guy back there that can make the right decisions he did exactly that they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one tell you they tried to go draw in the middle of the field that back had nowhere to go with the football he was tackled right away for a and onth down they'll try to salvage the drive with a field goal they pick the spot it's going to be about a 37 yd attempt that thing would have hit a string in the middle of the uprights perfect after putting up the field goal they're set to kick it away here he comes from inside his own five nice job executing all of the assignments as they put a stop to that return at the 22 North Texas takes possession the mean green offense will return to the field catch in the middle it's w early in the game as a DB I'm settling in give up four six seven yards I'm just trying to get settled in gauge the speed and then later on I can adjust to the speed of the game North Texas in the hurry up dropping back it's Morris he's going for a big Play Down field got it inride inside the 20 touchdown North Texas and once he found open space the band might as well start playing that was just as simple as playing catch in warm-ups and this offense felt like they could take advantage of this defense down the field throwing the football they've got a lot of speed on the perimeter I feel like they've got some matchups they feel they should be winning one-onone saw a great example of it right there P unit on the field and the extra point is good and they have an 11o lead this offense Prides itself on going after you and they did with that long touchdown pass to finish off a two-play drive the kickoff team out there getting set on the move from inside is five he was looking for more Running Room but none to be found as he stopped at the 23 South Alabama has it back the Jaguar offense going to work comes out throwing on first down makes the grab and he gets it up to the 36 it'll be a first down it's really tough on offenses when defenses know what you got to do you got to pass the football they're in man coverage how about the receiver understanding where the first down is he smells it he goes and gets it they've got it at the 36 it's a first and 10 off the RPO complete they'll get it to the 48 no need to measure it's a first down yeah and what a nice job seeing it reacting and throwing when you run these rpos you want to read the defense really quickly is he playing Run Okay boom I'm going to throw the slant right behind him nice job by the QB they are in on this drive a couple of Chunk plays and now they'll snap it on first down he'll keep it himself they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one this defense obviously came into this game prepared for the quarterback run linebackers DBS they're keying on him and just waiting for him to pull that football and you saw their ability to get hats to the ball quickly one on that last one it's second and 11 [Applause] out of the shotgun they go to the ground and a nice solid pick up there before the defense wrestles him to the ground I know that wasn't a big huge play and everybody's not excited and the fans aren't going crazy but those are the plays that in the fourth quarter matter a lot again making you tackle my back making you feel the physicality of the football game throughout so you get tired and get worn down in the fourth quarter Lopez wants to fire wide open down field he gets the job done on third down they move the chains it's at the 37 hard work pays off Guys these offenses work so hard week in week out working on those critical down and distances third downs and having that conversion this early in the game that's got to feel good for this offense as they get set to snap it just about to reach the end of the quarter on the ground with the counter an excellent Vision to find Running Room there and make a really good pick up before the defense put a stop to it we're through one period and these receivers are showing out big time take a look at the [Applause] [Music] stats now the challenge here they've taken a punch but they can't let it get out of hand as we start the second they'll give it to him again and a good solid pick up there before the defense knocks him down and often times running backs love drop plays because there's less traffic in front of them the offensive line is selling pass the quarterback selling pass they don't get the hand off until the very last possible second so the D lines rushed away up field and now it's so much easier for these backs to find their holes and pick their LS running back searching for a hole and the Jaguars get it the stick this is an offense that really sees their identity as being able to run the football nice job there picking up the first down this first half of offense won't go on the Highlight Reel so far but starting to get things moving it's first and 10 looking for a physical attack from the gun you'll take four yard on first down every time second and six they are controlling the ball ninth play of the drive after run run run now throw steps away to find some room and that defense gets to him and down he goes at the nine it has been said that the other team's quarterback must go down and he must go down hard and he did and often is good too the most you can get to him but great job by the defense rushing the quarterback understanding pass and getting the big fell on the ground they'd love to pick up this third down and get a fresh set with first and goal Lopez to pass and this defense goes backto back sack Jack this was one of the keys to the game could this quarterback could he extend plays and then make throws and scramble situations that time the defense was able to get to him and bring him down for a huge Los now on fourth down they'll try Come Away with three he's already put three on the board earlier this time a 38 yd try it's good so after putting three on the board the kickoff team is out there ready to boot it away and he takes this from inside the five couldn't find a way to create that broken field as he stopped at the 25 North Texas sends the offense back onto the field that last Drive really productive David wound up with a touchdown they'll try to do it again yeah so I don't expect this offense to change too much Reese they had a great Drive they got the touchdown everything working I would expect him to keep pushing this ball down here and just imagine if they could put another touchdown on the board right here they could capture so much momentum in this game with backto back TDS North Texas in the hurry up [Applause] Ed the play fake now to throw snagged in the middle it's Hammond they stop him just a link or two short of the first and man what they can do on second down here well it's a nice job to the quarterback after the play fake there getting his eyes down the field he had to get that to his tight end quickly knowing he wasn't going to have a lot of space to run with after the catch moving quickly trying to Rattle the D quarterback on the keeper and he found plenty of Running Room on that one before the defense was finally able to get him down I think you got to find as many ways as possible to get this quarterback involved in your running game whether it's designed runs or whether it's scrambles he is just way too ath you've got to give this guy touches because as you saw there he can hurt the defense they'll leave it with him just enough room to gain a couple down to the 34 they're strong and they're strong defensive tackles they're strong they're such big jokers in the Middle where they just lock out those offensive linemen and running backs listen they don't have much of a chance you got that 300 plus pound guy grabbing you around the shoulder pad you tend to go to the ground pretty quickly wide receiver coming across in motion the give to the running back from the shotgun tried to fight his way through that tackle but he's brought down that's a really good stop by the defense Jesse they need a few more you've given up a bunch of yards on this drive and a bunch of plays but all that matters is keeping them off the scoreboard yeah it's that bend don't break mentality you're seeing right now and this is the point where this def has just got to lock in if they can convert here that type of play can really give you a shot of momentum catch in the middle it's Hammond put it right on him sweet play good pick up and they'll move the chain with the first down how me first downs is that alone you know just on this drive the defense they keep this up they're going to get worn out continue to have to play more and more guys they got to do something to change this North Texas has it going to work with with another first down to the air it's Morris he's got the tight end and he laid the lumber to stop him from getting the first down I'll tell you when you got a tight end like this it makes it a lot easier calling pass plays on first down even if the defense is in zone coverage he did a really good job there working his leverage finding the soft spot and making it an easy completion from the gun he leaves it with the back and he's tripped up but not before picking up the first down you know they pred themselves on being physical at the point of attack dominating at the line of scrimmage nice job there picking up the first down North Texas in the hurry up first down run in the Red Zone he pushes his way down to the four as they get closer and closer now on second and goal going to run it it's Evans he pushes it forward all the way to the the two yd line a third and goal call here from the two let's see if they can finish the deal pushes ahead touchdown me green and they add six more to the board with that trip to the house this defense is going to do a better job being physical that's two rushing touchdowns they've now allowed they have got to be better close to the line of scrimmage lining up to tack one more onto that lead and the extra point puts him on top 21-6 so it's a 73 yd touchdown drive and finish to deal with the short touchdown run from the two kickoff team lining up to send this one [Applause] away he'll bring it back from inside his five he was looking for some Running Room but not much to be found as he stopped at the 18 guys we'll have another look at this South Alabama offense Lopez wants to Fire and the timing just a hair off offenses should focus on their guys and making sure so and so guys get so and so touches and you know listen they're featuring this guy they're going to throw to him he's going to be the primary target a lot of times I can't be Reckless but I definitely have to find my way to get that guy the ball on second down they'll to the air and that's going to be incomplete a lot of contact on the play but no Flags it'll be third down they line up with some serious work to do if they want to convert this one on third down going up top and the defense makes a play sacking him back the 10 well I think one of the biggest reasons why this team is finding themselves in a hole here in the first half is this has been a sack party they can't keep the defense off of their quarterback they haven't been able to get the ball deep down the field throwing it with the consistency they want because they can't keep their quarterback standing up straight the Jaguars will send out the punt unit three and out and not much choice but to get rid of the ball so from his own End Zone the punt is away now a fair catch is called for and may just shy of Midfield North Texas takes possession the mean green offense will return to the field on that last Drive defense had no idea what was happening run or pass wound up in the end zone Jesse yeah you saw the experience in this offense that last drive too on that touchdown everybody on the same page these guys have Reed these plays over and over in practice and in games and it's working yeah so I got to find a way to disrupt it I got to find a way to maybe be more aggressive maybe Blitz mess up this Rhythm they got going wide receiver shows motion to give to the back crosses the 30 got away and chunk plays are the name of the game and they get one here before the defense finally makes the stop yeah defensively you better be ready to run east and west when you're playing against this offense in their running game that time the offense was able to outflank the defense to the right side for a big play after that huge gain now a chance to cash it in from just outside the five keeping it on the ground on first and goal and they try the middle of this Stout defense and they rise to the challenge man oh man the ball carrier was just shut down and I tell you what they need some push up front too right they got to move those defensive linemen out of the way at least create a hole so your running back has a chance not there he didn't have any can the defense stop them again on second and goal on the option and he didn't get the pitch off and he paid the price they've gotten pushed back but it's still third and goal back to pass it's Morris floating away and he'll race it to the house touchdown North Texas well that didn't necessarily go as planned but it was in the end I love it reys down in the Red Zone this quarterback didn't have anybody open didn't Panic he just decided man I'm going to go do this myself I'm going to use my wheels and put up six on the board he did just [Music] that he'll try to T on one more and with the extra point the score is 28- six a very efficient 5way scoring drive and it was capped off with the 8yd Run almost ready to kick it away after scoring the touchdown he'll start the return inside his five he was hoping for something a little more d that they get him on the ground at the 20 the Jaguars offense ready to go back to work they'll try the right side stopped at the 25 after a 5yd gain they're going to keep feeding this guy the football guys over a 100 yards rushing with that last carry now we knew coming into this game today they had to get the running game going they had to be able to turn around hand it off and get positive yards and set themselves up into manageable third down situations we've seen them at any area of the field so far in this one have success in the running game they'll keep that up until this defense proves they can stop it right through his hands you just have to make that catch and it'll be third down we'll see if they go back to the air after the incompletion it's third and five Lopez to pass he tosses one high and deep down the left side and he was loose and not stopped until he gets to the 47 yd line man this offense is so dangerous Rees they've got dudes all over the field that can make plays there's a big gainer in the pass game you get a chunk of yards like that now the defense is really on its heels the Jaguars come to the line with a new set of downs he'll do it himself and he's able to shed one tackle but still just a very short gain they go with the option quarterback keeps it himself and look we've seen this guy on tape guys break these tackles and take up the distance this offense should keep dialing up these option plays don't let that short gain by the QB prevent you from running this scheme in your play he's back to throw on second down he puts a lot of air under it down the line and the pass is incomplete Jarred Loose by the hit well you got to love that if you're on defense because you were able to affect the quarterback with pressure and you only rushed three guys well done a third and long coming up here from the gun wants to pass coming after him and he just throws it away that is not what you're looking for on third down fourth down coming up it's so nice when you know it's third and long you know a pass is coming you worked on it all week get your feet set at the sticks understand that quarterback's got to be rushed get him off of his spot nice execution by this defense and the Jaguars line up to punt it away and that is textbook instructional video out of bound right around the goal line leaves it with the back that's a good run to give them some Breathing Room pick up of three out to the five I like feeding my guy I like getting my running back touches feeding the ball so he can break some of those big runs but I'm also okay with these little ones set the tone stay balanced got three on first down it's second and seven looking for a man it's Morris throws to the wide out he makes a catch that is exactly what you're looking for when you talk explosive plays the defense finally able to make the Stop and this defense is going to have their hands full because they're going to need to be comfortable with guys one-on-one on islands in the perimeter of the field and they're just going to have to make better plays than what we saw right there they knew this offense was going to try to be aggressive got to need better effort in the back end for this defense moving forward On The Run it's Evans finds enough room to get three out to the 34 after the three- yd pickup they come to the line Second and Seven rides to the back nowhere to run on that one he loses four on the carry yeah and listen the offense has had their way and they've had so much success and so much production but listen at least the defense got a rep you know maybe this gets you some a spark maybe this gets you some energy maybe we'll see a little bit more life from this defense yeah they may not win the game but I think this defensive coaching staff at this point based on how this game is gone they're just trying to find things to build off of maybe that's something they can point to as they get ready for their next oent of things they did right and things that they got to do more consistently moving forward North Texas will have tot it away he's going to try to flip the field with this one he'll take it on the return everybody stays in their Lanes well enough and they stop him at the 31 yd line South Alabama has it back the Jaguar offense going to work boy they've been caught in Buzz saw here in the first half but maybe a chance to carry some momentum into the break here it all comes down to this drive right here Reese obviously this offense hasn't had everything go right for them in the first half but here's an opportunity David to execute some plays put some throws together and generate some points and you're right Jesse and this offense needs to start now like we got to get some points on the board create some momentum and continue it because you've dug yourself a significant Lopez wants to Fire and he got smacked just as he released the pass it's incomplete they've already got a bunch of sacks on them today and another quarterback pressure this offense has to try to find a way to get the ball out a little bit quicker to protect the quarterback a little bit more whether it's screens whether it's draws whether it's rolling your quarterback something has to change for this offense to protect their quarterback a little bit better they're trying to get to him finds his timeout called here by the defense it's their first of the half they' hope to get him in space create Running Room and there just wasn't anything there I love the third down aggressive iny face defense not giving you any room to run down the field great job by the defense they saw the throw the Quick Pass reacted to it got him on the ground for a loss they'll get down and put a stop to this return they'll mark it at the 32 North Texas sends the offense back on the the field they've been outstanding here in this first half might as well try for The Knockout Punch David yeah confidence has to be in an alltime eye great first half I'm going to get more pmer I'm not scared with the lead when I got the football in yeah if it ain't broke don't fix it you can see the quarterback's body language he wants to go he wants to go Tempo he wants to take shots they're trying to light this scoreboard up they'll snap this one from the 42 it's first and 10 he's looking to throw it going to take a shot at this DB got it touchdown mean green and once he found some daylight it was time to make a house call quarterbacks love receivers that can get separation but that amount of Separation uh is a little excessive I agree Rees and I think the defense needs to have a little powow on the sidelines and talk about what just happened because that was an absolute busted coverage the back end defense can't keep playing like that lining up for the Pat and with the extra point they push the lead out a little further aggressive play calling on that drive just two plays they get the long touchdown pass to pay it off just about set to kick it [Applause] away from inside his own 10 he'll try to help out their field position able to find enough room to get it out across the 25 he's brought down at the 26 Lopez to pass it's complete to the left and they'll finally get him down after a terrific pick up there's a timeout called as this offense tries to find a way to draw a little closer line gets set first down he wants to throw and this sophomore able to wreak some havoc and get the sack we' got a timeout here late in the first half and they'll try to get more points on the board before the break this pass rush has just been Relentless and you can bet your bottom dollar they're about to bring the heat again and the pressure gets him again another sack quick timeout by the defense there trying to make sure everyone has the same call they're about to wear this punter out he's already been out four times staring at a fifth if they can't move the chains leaves it with the running back they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one the defense Burns their third and final timeout of the half you know the runner just has to have a little bit more patience bounce that thing outside a little too early and as a result lost yards fourth down and the punt team sends it the other way he gets a block this guy is a daring punt return man he's not going to settle for the fair catch a solid return gets a little bit of ground for the offense quick pass on the Fly motion pass the 30 and the defense able to get him down that should bring us to the end of the [Applause] half we played two quarters here time to go to Kevin Connors in our halim update guys who's had a better seat there in Denton than you have for what's been a fun first half talk about a first half from that dude out of the back field he's been a total Game Changer and how many top plays moments have we seen on Miss tackles Alone video game moves from one of the shiftiest players in all of college football and with that let's send it back to the guys at lovely d q Stadium North Texas will kick it off to start things here in the second [Applause] half returners is going to try to see what he can get and they'll get him on the ground as the offense comes out to start the next Drive looking for a productive play on first down they'll crank up this drive with the pass makes the grab down the middle makes the stop at the 30 but a big 15yd pickup gets him out of trouble excellent throw by the quarterback found the window between the zones then delivered the ball on time now on first down from the 30 looking to move it through the air finds his tight end how about this backer in pass coverage and bringing the big hit sck with him to and that's why QBs love their tight ends so much right especially when they're athletic because they make short throws turn into long games because of his ability after the catch it's so un special he is dominant in this offense and now on second down for this offense got away from trouble and got rid of it tight end finds a soft spot and he'll be taken down but he does have enough for the first down it's not a great feeling on defense too when you're blitzing you're expecting to get a sack you're expecting to get a hit on the quarterback if the offensive line and running backs pick it up uhoh because now you have one less guy in the back end trying to cover all these receivers and tight ends and you know you're in trouble they'll try the Run he's dropped behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a loss of three well the most insightful analysis I can come up with on that one is that didn't work back to the drawing board to see if there's something that works a little better soon or if I can quote the great Reese Davis that was very UNG good not a productive first down play last play was a near disaster now dealing with second and 13 got a man it's ivory push down for the tackle and that's a really nice route by the wide receiver just understanding I got to win right now I got to get inside of that guy and I know I'm going to get contact you run over the middle of field on a slant you're going to get hit nice job securing the catch making the play a completion but not quite enough for the first down third down coming for this offense Quick Pass to the left trying to get it to the marker he will step out of bounds but not before the big pick up and a first down for this I'll tell you for this defense they're going to have to find a way to bracket this slot receiver because of how athletic he is they're going to need to make sure they've got linebackers and DBS surrounding this guy at all times the Jaguars getting set on First and 10 he's going to pass unleashes one deep to the end zone and is picked off tell what defensive players don't always see where the ball is they see the receiver they chasing but really good job seeing where the receiver is going and making an interception making a big play getting the ball back to your offense North Texas takes possession the mean green offense will return to the field wants to throw on first down quickly complete and he'll make his way out of bounds after the solid pick up I love the anticipation on that throw by the QB on the out route you got to throw it before the receiver comes out of his break nice work after the first down completion it's second and short they think there's room to run to the right here he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple nice job by this defense listen you got to understand they're going to run the football they're going to try to milk the clock Jesse they got the huge lead haven't been a lot of good plays for this defense in this game so far so can they build on that one can they create some turnovers here in the second half to get back in this game he's looking to throw on Third and short and he drops it just took his eye off of it at the last minute third and short like that on your own side of the field you're just looking for a quick hitter you're trying to get the ball out of your hand quickly but the timing completely off there for the offense and the ball Falls incomplete North Texas will have to punt it aways it in looking up field the solid return there offsets some of the punt yardage and really sets up this offense nicely guys we'll have another look at this South Alabama offense boy they had that last Drive moving a little bit David but then the mistake just crushed them yeah and those mistakes are going to happen you going to throw the football you're going to throw interceptions but I think I stay aggressive with this offense I get back to what I did in the first part of that drive what made me successful I agree David just turn the page if you're a quarterback right on this drive you did a lot of good things there leading up to that pick forget about it move on play the next play nyd pickup on first down and now they can take a shot on second and short quick release on the RPO the defense wouldn't let him loose and even though it's in completion they lost yardage getting suffocated right away how about the DB just seeing that initially pulling the trigger get to him get him on the ground get the tackle for a loss a third down try for the the offense they'll try to pick up the first through the air it's caught giving him his pass and he was loose and in the open field and on his way a tremendous pick up on that one well how about the offense setting that play up we've seen earlier in the game a couple shorter throws they're just trying to suck those safeties closer to the line of scrimmage anticipating that they would get an opportunity to take a shot they called the perfect play at the perfect time right there free- snap Motion in the back field to the air on first down a shot toward the end zone and it was worth going for a chunk play but the long pass is incomplete and that is a huge missed opportunity for the quarterback you've got your guy wide open in the end zone you're not under pressure you just got to hit him that ball got away and that's one he'd like to have back let's see what they got on second down Lopez wants to Fire gets it out fast he's brought down solid pick up but a little bit short of the first down man it's so important when you play QB I got to know when to put some air on it and I got to know when to rocket that thing in there working the middle of the field he knew he needed to Rocket threw it in there great job great catch the Jaguars are threatening in the red zone on Third and short they'll try to convert through the air quarterback moving they make the stop but what a job on the scramble to get loose and pick up that first down sometimes you just got to give credit like we had it covered we knew it was a pass uh cover everything covered underneath but the quarterback does such a good job of making that second play something special pulling it down getting the first down pretty easily and the Jaguars are moving quickly down the field looking to go up top on first down touchdown Jaguars What A Catch and run for six sometimes we ask coaches about halftime adjustments and they go blah blah blah blah blah blah and then sometimes they make some good ones sometimes that blah blah blah blah blah actually works but it's working now but it might be too little too late but at least you got the party started ready to try the point after the extra point is good but the lead is still huge it's 3513 so that's a 59 yd touchdown drive and they finish it with an 11 yd touchdown Dart the kickoff un about to go to work from inside the 10 yd line he'll bring it back really disciplined job by the coverage unit to get down there and make the stop at the 19 North Texas sends the offense back onto the field got the quick completion this offense has a second down play they'll go to the counter play and they try the middle of this defense and that is not happening man not much wiggle room for the ball carrier there not really sure what they can do to try to create some space I know block better how about the offensive line push some backwards and make some holes fairly manageable distance here on third down from the 27 they'll try to pick it up on the ground they were all over him nowhere to go as that third down play turned into a disaster and that seemed a little off from the start didn't it that was a big time play and it was off from the start because of the play he made and I don't think it would have mattered who was playing running back there was absolutely no where to go north Texas will have to punt it away fourth time tonight we've seen this guy come on to punt makes a move he's brought down but a really solid effort to pick up every bit of yardage he could on the punt return the Jaguars offense ready to go back to work the last time they had it they took it down the field for a touchdown they can build some confidence that they could go backto back scoring drives and breaks into the open and they'll finally bring him down after he rips off a huge play and you see so many of these plays now in today's football wide receiver coming in motion and the quarterback catches it just flips it for that's a completed pass uh you see the big plays where it just lets him get on the edge really really quickly and if he drops the football coming in motion it's just an incomplete pass these plays are getting big plays with really no risk the RPO complete to the left and they'll get him down inside the five but this offense powering for a score going to work on second down in the red zone is still some ground to cover to pick up that first down Lopez to pass he CAU it that completion has them right on the doorstep they mark it at the one a nice job by the defense there tackling the catch and smothering the tight end they know this offense is going to try to find him in the passing game in a lot of different situations that time perfect coverage and nice job bringing the big guy down not easy to do not a lot of ground to cover and not much to defend a big third down in the red zone to the ground to try to move the chains and he takes it to the house touchdown South Alabama great example of how a second half can really change everything for a team no doubt first half looked bad it looked like it was Bleak it looked like it was ugly but now you're starting to get it turned around that more drives like this is what's needed why not double the try total and go for two wide out in motion little touch pass to the receiver they'll get the two-point conversion and now the lead is 14 quick work on that scoring drive just four plays and they capped it off with a one yd plunge lining up to cover the kick after that touchdown drive on the run from inside his own five nice job executing all of the assignments as they put a stop to that return at the 22 North Texas takes possession the mean green offense will return to the field getting that push a pick up of four out to the 26 linebackers moving trying to confuse the back North Texas in the hurry up back to throw it's Morris looking down the middle all kinds of room to throw that one in there and he almost ran away from everybody on that one a huge pick up on that play nice job by the receiver on the in route there and how about the speed after he made his break he was able to actually separate a little bit from the DB helping out his QB on that one be a first down from the 49 ydd line he's looking to throw it quickly to the tight end he's brought down quickly minimal gain there still a bit short of the first down I'll tell you I love the play call on first down here you're just trying to find an easy completion and the shortest throw on the field for the quarterb finding your biggest Target and that's the tight end nice job right on target with that last pass now it's second and medium the playaction fake fires to the middle it's caught down field they make the stop but not before they do their work up top and pick up a first down you can tell this quarterback did his homeor coming into this game he has been dissecting this defense with his arm and his mind over 300 yard passing nowas really has it going on offense pulls and fires it complete to the right they make the stop right there good pick up it's still short of the first down North Texas doing business from the red zone out of the gun the inside hand off looking for a and they make the tackle but he has plenty for the first down all right defense that's that's what we can't do we can't give up this many chunk yards on the ground got to commit more guys to the line of scrimmage got to get those running backs on the ground that's way too easy North Texas has it going to work with another first down they're going to ride this running back they'll give him four yard on the carry down at the8 yd line going to work in the red zone They can't pick up the first down without getting it into the end zone the offense showing motion from the tight end trying to get a read on the D from the shotgun the inside K he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple maybe that stop shows this defense is tightening up especially in the Run game the offense frankly they've been able to do whatever they want to do they just handed the ball off this guy's having success left and right no sir no Moss get it together North is in the hurry up back to throw it's Morris lets it fly reels it in in the end zone touchdown North Tas they have not been able to cover this guy all day no I tell you what this offense is featuring to doing a really good job this guy is explosive he's Dynamic he's making big plays and heck yeah I'm going to him as many ways as I can kudos to the off for final and wait a second the officials going to take a second look at this one after taking another look just to confirm everything the officials on the field got it right play will stand the kick is up good and put one more on the lead they marched 78 yd down the field and they finish it with an 11 yard touchdown D the kickoff team takes the field to boot this one [Applause] away here he comes from inside his own five nice job executing all of the assignments as they put a stop to that return at the 22 South Alabama has it back the Jaguar offense going to trailing by three touchdowns if you're going to get back in it David the time to start is right now got to start now defense giv up points on that last possession again the offense is going to have to score and Jesse probably score pretty quickly yeah you got to go Tempo you're going to have to try to fit in as many plays as you can throughout the rest of this game but I think more than that you got to eliminate the negative plays no more penalties and no more turnovers Red Pass it's complete he's run out of bounds but a big play on that one and it'll be a first down that was a really nice catch and an even better run after the grab and get the ball to your playmaker what's good about having him in the slot is he can go either direction you can get him matched up on somebody that's not as fast and you watch he can run away from those linebackers or safeties from the shotgun they'll run it not a whole lot of room there three yard maybe second and seven St with a running game on first down now here they come again they'll Run play action makes the grab on the left and that defense doesn't allow a cut back and they get him out of bounds after a short game third down and this offense is already in a world of trouble they could really use the conversion not to mention multiple scores makes the grab he gets it to the 38 yd line and they'll pick up a fresh set of downs you know it's a nice throw by the QB there when you're throwing to running backs you got to make it easy on them so you want to put it right on their body make the catch simple and let them go to work like they did just there getting that First Defense showing plenty of pre-nap movement of their own the Jaguars are in the hurry up trying the left side and they get him on the ground and that'll probably do it for the third quarter and you want to talk about his favorite receiver it might be everybody based on the number of guys getting touches in a chance to show off their hands in the passing [Music] game as we start the fourth quarter it'll take a pretty sizable comeback to win this one lost one on that last one it's second and 11 Lopez wants to fire got his man in the middle they make the stop after the catch and still some work to do to pick up that first down a nice job by the QB there timing out that drag throw it's Zone coverage so he's got to make sure he gets it to his receiver in a window to allow him to catch the ball and then turn it up field this has the makings of a good drive the seventh play brings up a third and four from the gun wants to pass and the incomplete pass will bring up fourth down and this offense stays aggressive and they pass the football I think you can always look back and say third and short I'd love for you to run it and be the more physical team but nice job scking up their next for this defense down in the fourth quarter it's too late for empty possessions they'll go for it on fourth down he'll try to throw and pick up the first down looking to the big tight end he's got it he's run out of bounds but not before turning in a big pick up and moving the s for a first down I think the experience on offense was a big reason why the head coach felt confident going for it there on fourth down he has a lot of guys that played a lot of snaps they've been in these big game moments before ice in their veins and you saw it there on that completion to keep the sticks moving they're in the red zone and they'll pass it quickly complete they make the stop at the five yd line but they've got it first and goal he's just winning that match up in the slot every time and when you put him in the slot Reese's closer to the quarterback it's an easier throw we can run in we can run out and really take anage of his versatility of the guy that slot position the Jaguars have it in scoring position on first and goal they'll try to get it in with the Run they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one well there's a statement by the defensive line first down play expecting run and they just dominated up front beat their one-on ones and force a tackle for a loss after getting nothing done on first down second and goal from the six the run up the middle trying to find his way to the goal line he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple and that's a great stop by this defense second down and goal getting the Lost yardage play now putting your defense in a better position for third down and they'll come to the line and try to draw a little bit closer on Third and goal Lopez to pass fires into the end zone and he's got it touchdown Jaguars they'll try to attack one more on their score bangs it through for an extra point precise Relentless execution on that 13pl scoring drive and they close the deal with the seven Y for the score about to kick it off after punching it in for the touchdown fielded In The End Zone it's Ward pulled down at the 18 and the decision to bring it out of the end zone was not a good one North Texas sends the offense back onto the field from the gun the running back has it and how about that interior defense stuffing the run for nothing play callers love it offensively when you can run the football when the other team knows you're going to do it that is called imposing your will and here in the fourth quarter with the lead very first play of the drive you break off a nice run he might just call the exact same play right again here he'll try it again they wrestle him to the ground but he's got plenty for a first down it's a point in the game I think as a coaching staff where you really challenge your offensive line to go win the football game right we've got to lead late we're going to run the football and the defense and everybody in this Stadium knows that's what's going to happen can we run the ball down their throats and our will that's what this offense right now is trying to do give to the running back man through the contact nice run I think everybody knows he's right there next to that 100 yard Mark 98 yards on the day and that's a mark man when you hit that Mark A lot of times and you take care of the football you win a lot of football games it's the more physical team it's the team that makes it easy makes it easier on their quarterback and they've done that today the give to the back works his way to the 41 and that is plenty to give him a first down well the defense didn't Blitz they didn't have everybody in gaps and the offensive line took advantage at the point of attack getting some push opening up a hole and the offense ripping off a nice run there North Texas really has it going on offense on the move it's Evans and he is swarmed under a host of Defenders there to make the stop at this point of the game the offense has the lead the offensive coordinator knows they want to keep running the football so he's going back he's looking at his playlist and he's saying which runs work the best for me in this game what can I lean on right here to make sure we win this one picked up two yard on that last one they need eight on second down oh and they'll try to catch him with a pass just missed his man gave him just a little too much oh man the Big Fellas they usually have the soft hands your security blanket as your tight end but that one hit him in the hands and he just he just couldn't pull it in they'll come to the line at the 42 facing a third and long back to pass it's Morris looking left right on the money to the outs side he draged the toe and how about the ball placement only the receiver could get it and you just get the feeling that this defense has to find a way to get off the field and get the football back at this juncture of the game trailing late if they're going to win North Tex in the hurry up off the play fake on first down to throw looking to scramble he'll bow it down making a positive out of a negative and that time quarterback nice job buying time he's trying to throw the football downfield nothing there so instead of throwing it away getting the incomplete just get what you can get and make this next down more manageable linebackers shuffling around trying to keep the quarterback from getting a read from the shotgun the hand off to the back he's dropped behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a loss of three and that's a great great job by the defense understanding exactly the situation understanding to stay home play sound no matter who gets the football we're going to run to the football hard we're going to cage the football be disciplined nice job by the defense on third down he'll try to pick it up through the air it's incomplete But Here Comes the flag and I think it's going to be a first down Defender gets a little too aggressive there and this offense gets some free yardage going up top on first down unloads it lefts it in and he is marked out of bounds after another big gain this aial attack has had no problem moving the ball with chunk play well I love play calls that want to stay aggressive regardless of what the score is regardless how much time is left on the clock and I promise you this there are a lot of fans there are a lot of teams AC college football that are paying attention to what is happening right now movement here from the tight end they'll dial up the run on first and goal not much room he gets one down to the seven defense rose up deep in its own end on that last play now a second and long coming he'll run it to the middle looking for the end zone and they try to run inside and there is nowhere to go it's looking like they're going to have to throw this one in now on third down David and you know the execution just has to be spot on timing especially at the quarterback position here and thinking about the defense they're aggressive in these situations they're going to play man they're going to play uptight on you so I know that now how do I counter punch and attack this defense on Third and goal they'll throw it he's got and he will score touchdown being green there's no mercy rule in college football man theyve got a huge lead here in the fourth quarter they are still chucking it and they are still scoring ling up to add another and the extra point splits the upright and they're up a full three touchdowns a 21 Point cushion in the fourth air lining up to boot it [Applause] away on the move from inside is five didn't find any crease in that kickoff coverage and he'll be stopped at the 17 guys we'll have another look at this South Alabama offense zings it complete to the right great job by the quarterback thrown against Zone coverage you cannot Telegraph where you're throwing the football you cannot eyeball wide receiver so great job by the quarterback using his eyes not staring down his guy and then throwing him over still some work to do after that last completion it's second down Lopez wants to fire quick strike complete and the defense makes the immediate tackle but he has enough for the first down see I like this tight end because he's not just running flat routes and little stick routes and drags this guy can get vertically down the field he showed you his speed there running the Crosser with the first down they'll put it in play from the 33 he wants to throw outside the pocket Let's It Go got him down field good job running that route to get past the sticks because he got nothing after the catch yeah I love that the QB understood I'm GNA put some stank on this I'm going to throw it as hard as I can quickly right when he's breaking out of that curl nice job getting it to him quick so he could get a first down they keep attacking through the air how about getting the foot down on that throw for the big completion a really nice day from this quarterback over 350 yards passing now Jess he's had a plan all game long he just seems to find his best matchups and he's done an awesome job giving his guys opportunities to make plays and the Jaguars will have it first and 10 looking to move it through the air excellent coverage and good use of the hands to knock it away tips deflections those are such good things lot of times they lead to interceptions and big plays just try to get any kind of disruption you can they'll go back to work after the incompletion here's second and 10 from the 36 couldn't connect on first down now back to the air fires toward the end zone and it's caught touchdown South Alabama this is like a baseball pitcher that can't miss he is just pounding pounding pounding the strike zone it just gets in the zone right when you can't miss you you've seen quarterbacks get like that no matter what they do they're on fire they're hitting the receivers and listen that's also on the defense the defense has to do a better job making him feel uncomfortable changing what they're doing in coverage so he's a little bit confused you can't just let him pick you apart getting set for the point after splits the upright so that scoring Drive took only six plays and they get it into the End Zone on a 36 yd touchdown pass they've got it down to a two touchdown deficit trailing by 14 and about to kick it away and he takes this from inside the five nice job by the kickoff team everybody stayed in their lanes and they'll stop him at the 16 North Texas takes possession the mean green offense will return to the field shows him the stiff arm he found a hole got about five he's down at the 21 man that's the advantage of having a good coaching staff to teach these players in this type of situation with the lead late in the game you want to stay in the field of play and keep the clock ticket they do that after that nice run north Texas in the hurry up the give to the tail back runs through the tackle just a Savvy veteran productive run from this junior man this offense would really like to lean on this guy in the fourth quarter right they've got the lead and you just saw his ability there breaking a tackle he looks like he's getting stronger as the game goes on I'd expect him to get a few more carries here before this game's over they'll throw it on first down good timing on the quick out this offense is not letting up guys they've got a lead here late and they are still taking shots they're still looking for explosive plays this defense just has not had an answer here all game long got the completion on the last play still some work to do on second down fast motion from the offense wants to throw it's Morris and this sophomore able to wreak some havoc and get the sack how nice is it as a defense when you can drop seven guys in a coverage only Rush four and still get home that makes you feel good if you're the D coordinator now facing a third and long from the gun wants to pass now improvising and the ball squirt it out oh looks like the offense was able to recover it man those are so frustrating when you're a defense and you swarm to the football and you stick the quarterback and you make him cough it up just to have the other team recover it again and you don't get it still a good stick still a good physical play keep hitting that quarterback North Texas will have to punt it away they may have to him overtime he's pting for the fifth time today he'll call for the fair catch here the Jaguars offense ready to go back to [Applause] work they're going to open this drive with a pass the quick out and he'll step out of bounds after a very productive play well that last play is a beautiful start to this drive You' got some work to do here you've got some Mountain you've still got a clim if you're going to win this game a couple minutes left you got the horses to get you there but it's all about getting the drive started with a positive play and they found that on that last on second down just keeps firing looking to buy time picks up the first down and gets down to avoid contact I love the play call there too because second and short defense is thinking you might run it so you try to catch him off guard with the pass nothing there even if you throw an incompletion you're going to have a chance to run it the very next play but doesn't matter this guy's just so athletic himself he's able to go get the first let's get a fresh set of downs Lopez to pass got his man quickly nice pitch and catch there and they'll have enough for the first down boy this freshman quarterback has a hose did he Zing that thing in there the Jaguars in the hurry [Applause] up they'll throw it on first down he's right on Target and how about that catch and run so dangerous this guy when you play zone coverage everybody drops back everybody has eyes on the quarterbacks you're not really looking at the wide receivers a lot of times so they can slip in those little cracks and the quarterback can really make precise throws great job great play great throw great game we've reached the two-minute warning and we see miracles in college football all of the time and they could use one here the Jaguars come to the line with a fresh set of downs trying to find his man on first down going for the big play makes the GB touchdown Jaguars and the comeback is on and listen still a ways to go a great job by this offense getting you back in the ball game now we got a one possession game we got our score we did what we're supposed to do now how do we get this stopped now the defense has to come up big and get me the rock back on the try and the P will draw them one point closer a very efficient five play scoring drive and they finish things off with a 44 yd touchdown pass the kickoff team on the field as they'll send this one away he'll bring it back from inside to spot he was looking for more Running Room but none to be found as he stopped at the 23 North Texas sends the offense back onto the field so we've got a tight spot here David they'd love to run out the clock but all those timeouts staring at them they got three timeouts on defense but I know a first down ends this football game so I got to get my guys physical ready to roll yeah because you know this defense is going to be playing the Run they're going to be loading the box trying to get tackles using their timeouts to get the football back so this is going to come down to who's better in the trenches he's there to make the Stop and they threw it in reverse losing yardage on that play defense uses a timeout quickly trying to get that ball back and preserve time for their offense third down conversions are a huge stat and this one would be a doozy if they can pull it off quick touch pass to the receiver and he's not going to make it the defense denying him the first down quick timeout called by the defense stopping the clock to save as much time as possible for their offense North Texas will have to punt it away no return coming he'll call for the fair catch the offense lining up for a first down [Applause] play he's going to pass he wants a big play here late and it's knocked away downfield the DB getting a hand in there well the defense finally showing some life there it's been tough sled too cuz this offense has been lighting them up through the air but a nice individual effort that time forcing the incompletion after the quarterback and receiver failed to hook up they'll try it again on second down Lopez wants to Fire and it'll be incomplete this is some physical pass defense well they thrown two straight inet and they just need to play pitch and catch on this next play they're down a possession and you don't have to necessarily get the first down right here but if you don't get it you've got to at least keep the fourth down manageable to give yourself an opportunity to keep pushing the ball down the field and give yourselves a shot to win pocket starts to collapse and the pressure will get there the sack down he goes in theing moment that could be a cly play this late in the game there's really no question about it to have any chance to tie this thing up they have to convert here on fourth down desperate to convert and he'll throw it here's a throw down field late and it's swatted away it's a turnover on Downs running out the clock seems to be a m formality here as they are ready to snap it in Victory form for for
