spectacular ocean views not far away from the home of the Florida Atlantic owls FAU stadium in boa Ron Florida where they hope this game lives up to the setting what we have in store today a clash between a pair of AAC squads as we'll see the Army Black Knights taking on the Florida Atlantic for EA Sports college football I'm Reese Davis joined here in the booth by David poock and Jessie Palmer and guys let's get this thing started the Black Knights will put total Lea and we'll get [Applause] started here he comes from inside his own five really disciplined job by the coverage un to get down there and make the stop at the 19 so Forida Atlantics offense will take the first swing of the game and here comes their leader Jesse he just has a way of elevating everybody's play and he's a point guard too so good at Distributing the football finds the open guys and he makes this offense go makes it go and just you can trust him everything is available but you're not playing with one arm behind your back you got all guns blazing well this is one of the fastest in college football and that's why the option's a good idea because if he can get out in space and he has a chance to get down field he is really difficult to tackle and he's very difficult to catch as you saw in that last play getting a first down looking for space it's Moy they'll pick up four second and Six coming and as an offense having success on a run play like that early in the game just opens up all the possibilities of your playbook moving forward play action running the ball throwing the ball screens anything is at your disposal at this point solid pick up of four on first down it's second and six motion from the offense the give to the back wrestled to the ground after picking up the first down and I don't care if I get it by two by 20 by 30 by 40 I just I just want to first down understanding the situation understanding where the sticks are doesn't have to be sexy but I got to make sure I get to that stick get to the first down Mark Florida Atlantic goes to work with a fresh set of [Music] downs give to the running back able to SC three yard out of that one somehow it's second and seven you know I think a big part of this isn't necessarily scoring a touchdown on that plate but you're just trying to get your line in the rhythm of the game let those Big Fellas get lathered up after the three yd pickup they come to the line Second and seven from the gun the running back has it tackled but he has a first down I love when players understand situations and they understand where the first down marker is and they understand where I got to get to a lot of people you'll see run north south and try to bounce out wide and make big play play sometimes it's not about making big plays sometimes it's about getting that first down to make sure I get an extra set of downs instead of trying to make those big touchdown runs sto just inside the 30 at the 29 it's a 10yd pick up and a first down this drive has been exclusively on the ground could they be setting up a shot play wide receiver shows motion on the ground it's Moy the pirouette On The Run that's a really good job by the defense wrapping him up getting them on the ground take away that run game make him onedimensional put him in passing situations really good job by the defense picked up two yards on that last one they need eight on second down from the gun give on the inside really nice run there good solid pick up and they'll move the sticks with a first down you've got to be loving what you're seeing from your offense here on the opening drive of this game they're in a really nice Rhythm they've got real good balance going on right now and they've got the defense on their heels inside the 15 first and 10 from the 14 hand off to the lone back not a whole lot of room there three yards maybe second and seven going to work in the Red Zone they can pick up the first down without getting it into the End Zone from the gun they'll give it on the inside gets it inside the 10 picks up a yard they'll mark it at the nine really need to pick up this conversion and avoid having to settle for the field goal looking down field it's fer he makes a grab and he wanted to score badly but the defense wrestles him down at the two perfect timing to call that pass Place third and short down here in the Red Zone everybody in the stadium expecting you to run the football and if you don't get it maybe you kick a field goal maybe you go for it on Fourth you don't have to worry about that now because of the pass completion it's first and goal fast motion from the offense they'll use the running game on first and goal he worked his way ever closer all the way down to the one yd line second and goal for the offense and he's loose and he'll take it to the house touchdown Florida Atlantic the defense knew coming into this game they were going to have their hands full not only they about these running backs in the running game they had to worry about the quarterback as well on designed runs and on scrambles they didn't have an answer for him right there lining up to tack one more onto that lead and the extra point makes it seven nothing precise Relentless execution on that 13pl scoring drive and they capped it off with a one yd Pune lining up to cover the kick after that touchdown drive on the move from inside is five just never had a chance to shake loose and he'll be brought down at the 24 so the Army Black Knights offense will get the ball for the first time as we take a look at our impact players for this game David what do you look for to make an impact from your leaders your leaders not only have to lead the football team but they got to step up and make plays on the field keep everybody calm these guys typically do a really good job of it yeah David and they also generally set the tone for their respective football teams regardless of which side of the ball they play on the teammates look towards them to step big games like this didn't get much on first down it's second and n on the option discards A man that's what you expect from a senior don't give them any extra yards great tackle there quarterbacks generally guys we know they're not as big and not as physical Runners as running backs so it is going to be trickier for them to break tackles I like the idea the designed quarterback run game going but moving forward let's see if we can get him out to the perimeter they'll Run play action they're trying to get to it and they got him they'll get him down for the sack playaction pass success has a lot to do with selling that fake you could tell defense was not buying it got in the back field got the big play and the Black Knights will try to pin them back with the punt getting our first look of the afternoon at the punter and the punt team gets down there and gets the Return Man On The Ground Florida Atlantic takes over again and the owls offense will go back to work you want to talk about a drive where you impose your will that's what they did running it down for a touchdown David there is nothing more demoralizing than that for a defense to be physically pounded the run is coming you know it's coming and you can't stop it nothing the defense can do that is monoo up front and your guys getting a push they know you're running it and they still can't stop got three on first down it's second and seven quick quick pass on the jet motion and he's a real Nowhere Man tackled in this no gain land the first thing you have to do to make these plays successful offensively is I have to block The Edge I I got to get my speeder in space they didn't do a good job of getting that guy out there in space where he could really use his Jets nice job by the defense understanding it seeing it rallying to it and tackle that guy for a loss he's got his man and knocked down immediately but not before he moves the chains defense is about learning the plays third down what do they like to do how do they do it so far the offense having a little bit of success but the defense now you got to figure out what they're doing the ow with the first and 10 wide out in motion using his legs it's Moy at the 35 he's got room and they'll finally catch up to him but not before a big chunk of yardage is picked up defense is going to have their hands full trying to stop this guy they better rally to the football and get multiple hats CU he is not easy to bring down Florida Atlantic gets to the line quickly they're going to ride this running back all right well the offense here they're trying to get this run game established they obviously don't break off a long run there but they're just trying to find their footing at this point after picking up a couple it's second and eight from the gun running back on the move get some room headed to the goal line and he's sprinting he'll take it all the way TouchDown for Atlantic and I like the running back Vision he sees the hole explodes through it he knows where the goal line is gets in theend zone gets six [Music] they'll try to add another to their lead the kick is up and good and put one more on the lead so that scoring Drive took only six plays and they finished it off with a 17 yd touchdown run the kickoff team takes the field to boot this one [Applause] away he'll start the return inside as five really disciplined job by the coverage unit to get down there and make the stop at the 19 Army has it back and the offense ready to go to say this has been a slow start is a bit of an understatement and they really need to get it going here Jesse that's right the opponent they're firing on all cylinders right out of the gate offensively for this unit they've been slow and struggling they need an explosive play to wake themselves up yeah and it's just the first quarter so it's not the end of the world you've seen slow starts but you got to continue to pick and pick and pick until you find that play or or that scheme that you can use against this defense still on his feet at the 40 what a good run there he has enough for the first down all right well look I know the defense was feeling real good about their run de coming into this they've been playing up to this point but finally David the offense breaks through and they finally generate something positive on the ground and I can't tell you how easy it is when you're going to throw the ball consistently and I know it I'm going to pin my ears back and I'm going to get to the quarterback it makes life really easy on a defensive line but when you can have balance now the defense doesn't know what's coming they need more of this if they're going to be successful on offense now on second down moving the running back trying to get the D to tip its hand really nice stop there from this senior leader as a defensive guy now you're always zoomed in on the quarterback I mean these guys they're whether they're throwing the football or running it at least they have the football in their hands every time you know where they're going to be you focus in the defense locked and loaded understand were trying to accomplish doing a good job getting to the quarterback and then make those physical Hits Count finish those finish those tackles with aggressive hits make that quarterback feel you just flying through the air like a superhero to make the grab man I I love those guys that are willing to put their body on the line and he does it right here man just lays out that Ball's coming in you can see it from several yards out making that play laying out keeping the football from touching the turf great concentration great effort by the receiver one back in the back field and they'll give it to it not much there on the Run he gets one to the 31 the big defensive tackles in the middle they're not always the best pass rushers but they are strong and I say country they put their hands on you you feel it they lock people out on the line of scrimmage they create separation they wrap running backs up and usually they don't get out of the midst of those big boys he'll ride his man on the option and just wedges it ahead a bit before he's brought down and you could tell the QB wants to run he's going to be a big part of the game plan and the defense really really understands that I got to understand and more importantly when I get a lick on this cat I got to take it like not dirty not cheap shots but into the plays when I can be physical and really make him feel me I think that'll always bug well in the fourth quarter game they've got it just outside the Red Zone they'll move the chains it's at the 21 well it just seems like everything is working for the offense on this drive another nice gain this time on the ground the Black Knights have it with a first and [Applause] 10 run it with the fullback and the Black Knights are threatening in the Red Zone the give to the fullback and a really short game before he gets a whole bunch of company from the defense if they can convert here that type of play can really give you a shot of momentum they'll run the option and sure tackling there to keep him from getting to the first down marker you know this offensive line they just got to hold their blocks a little bit longer this offense likes to run their quarterback on designed plays and if you can just give them a little crease he can take at the distance but they couldn't get it done now here comes the field goal unit as they'll try to get the three never a doubt after putting three on the board the kickoff unit ready to go he'll bring it back from inside his five he was hoping for something a little more Dynamic but they get him on the ground at the 20 the Florida Atlantic offense will return to the field how about that blocking up front and that running game last time as they just walked it down for a touchdown D and the big boys up front doing their job opening holes The Backs making plays everything on the ground on that first drive worked and we know that this is the identity this coaching staff wants for this team right they want to be the most physical team on the field let's see if they can keep it up and here comes the offense on second down the give on the inside fights off a Defender that run epitomizes a veteran Savvy senior who knows how to find Space all right guys so Ford Atlantic has the lead they came out and jumped on the early in the first let's take a break and look at the first quarter [Applause] stats just about ready to get things started here in the second we'll see if they continue to flex that muscle takes a hand off it's Moy and he finds Some solid space makes a nice game before the defense is able to stop it I think a big key in this team's success today has been their ability to run the football they've been able to just hand it off and go CH out yards they've had this defense on their heels all game long it's given them a big cushion in this game so far let's see if they can keep it up from the gun leaves it on the inside with the back and maybe they want to try somewhere else because there is doing in the middle of this defense let's see what they do on third down out of the gun the inside get he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple and that's a great job by the defense understanding exactly the situation understanding to stay home play sound no matter who gets the football we're going to run into the football hard we're going to cage the football be disciplined nice job by the defense for Atlantic will s the punt onto the field no return coming he'll call for the fair catch the cadets have it back his army he goes back on offense it's always great to get points on a drive but it would behoove them to try to get a touchdown this time around Palmer they may have to get out of their comfort zone here too David a little bit and just start being more agressive take some chances but that's what's going to have to happen for them to win this game yeah and when you're losing obviously everything gets heightened everything becomes more critical this drive is crucial because you've got to cut into this deficit and put some points on the board now it's second and 10 from the 15 the give to the bat pushes ahead for two they'll mark it at the 17 I like feeding my guy I like getting my running back touches is feeding the ball so he can break some of those big runs but I'm also okay with these little ones set the tone stay balanced a third and long coming up here looking for a man it's Dy The Freshman able to get home with the sack great job and coverage by the defense he just had nowhere to go with the ball the Black Knights will punt it away on fourth down this will be the second time they've had to kick it away he'll call for the fair catch here fla Atlantic has the ball back and the offense will try to put together a drive they missed an opportunity to extend this lead the last time they had it Jesse yeah they got to be able to regain that momentum right go back to what was working earlier on in this one and David to me that starts with being the more physical team I definitely agree being the more physical team but understanding the situation of the game you're still winning you got the football back now put a nice together and execute all wide outs no backs he's looking for an open man on second down caught near the sticks it's Tucker he's there to make the stop but the damage has been done as they pick up the first down on the throw catch and there was no question in that scenario that's where the quarterback was going he knew he had his receiver in a matchup that he liked a route where he would find himself opening nice job between those two and the owls want to move quickly a run up the middle is stuck for no gain and now on second down for this offense they'll run it from the gun he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple when a running back has had as much success as this guy's had so far listen defense has got to quue in they got to queue in to him he's priority number one number two and number three three that's a good start to maybe turning this defensive effort around third down conversions are a huge stat and this one would be a doozy if they can pull it off pocket starts to collapse and the heat gets home they knock him down back at the 45 well that inside linebacker is a freak of nature for multiple reasons and it's hard for a lot of these smaller running backs to have to pick him up in pass bro not just because of his speed but he's also big and strong for Atlantic will have to send out the punt team this will be the second time they've had to kick it away and that punt will Sail Out of Bounds let's see where the official spoted Army has it back and the offense ready to go they've been pretty much stifled on offense so far David been only able to muster three points in their previous three drives and you got to find a way to open this up and create some explosive plays like the passing game is obviously the easiest way Jesse put more speed on the field find those guys down the field and you know they're frustrated too because they felt like there were some matchups they could take advantage of to get some points on the board early in this one they just haven't been able to connect on those opportunities but I like David's idea maybe move some guys around and see if you can create some better one-on-one matchups he's knocked down Back Field he'll lose a couple most offensive schemes are predicated on first down productivity that will not go down as a productive first down Play No it will not reys give this defensive line credit because they were able to get penetration right off the snap and force a negative [Applause] play pre snap motion quarterback trying to get a read and he is swarmed under a host of Defenders there to make the stop you know I really like this QB running the football because I know he's got a lot of speed but he's not the biggest guy in the world so he's not going to be able to break a lot of tackles you really got to do a good job of trying to scheme ways to get him out in more space they line up and it is a long way to the sticks from here that's reeled in it's Reynolds and the Black Knights will send out the punt unit might have thought he'd want to try to pick up a few yards there but he's content with making the fair catch right around the 35 yd line wide receiver now comes in motion off play action on first down floting away he'll P it down on the run and he'll slide to avoid the hit a Nifty pick up there Hey listen it's important at that position to be able to be good off schedule everything's easy when it's on time you can get the ball out but when things break down they get off schedule you've got to have a guy back there that can make the right decisions he did exactly that they'll line up for a second down play grabbed in the back field it's Tucker there able to get him stopped just shy of the first down marker it's hard to have success on wide receiver screens when you're facing press man coverage because your blockers out front often times can't pick them up and that receiver gets gobbled up as soon as he catches the pass you saw it on that last play Third and short from the 44 and we might know if they plan to go for it on fourth down by what they call here they'll try to power their way ahead and that should be enough to give Florida Atlantic the first down those little chunks keep annoying the CR of you when you're on defense it's just putting them in Easy situations chewing up four to six yards at a pop like that put you in a bad situation as a defensive coordinator what do I call either way priority number one we got to stop the run wide receiver coming across in motion they're getting this guy lathered up and you want to talk about G tackling everybody on the defense run to the ball yeah and the running back didn't much here but you know you clearly want to always establish the tempo run the football be consistent make that defense physically meet the challenge after the three yd pickup they come to the line Second and seven quarterback Quick Pass to the receiver the defense wouldn't let him lose there and it was a completion but they lost yardage well I love the aggressive nature of the defense on that play everybody playing with discipline they saw the pre-nap motion they knew who had the football and you saw guys play with excellent Instinct running downhill and making a tackle they'll try to move the chains on this third and long from the 50 scanning the field it's fer looking down the middle he's got it they've got it just outside the Red Zone they'll move the chains it's at the 21 if I'm a defense I got to find a way to get some more pressure on the quarterback or disrupt their timing and their Rhythm I can't can't give him these big chunk plays through the air I got to be maybe a little bit more aggressive or do something a little bit different for Atlantic races to the line motion from the offense leaves it with the back they make the stop of this running game moves to change as they get the first down another good run man has picking up yards in bunches today Jesse showing off all the skills and he's showing no signs of slowing down David this guy just gets better as the game goes on he is a beast Florida Atlantic comes to the line on first and goal touch pass on the Jet Sweep and he's GNA take it into the end zone touchdown ow [Music] lining up to tack one more onto that lead and the extra point makes it a 213 lead they put together a 65 yd drive for the score and they cap things off with a nyd touchdown pass the kickoff team out there and ready to [Applause] go and he takes this from inside the five didn't find any crease in that kickoff coverage and he'll be stopped at the 17 the cadets have it back his Armes back on offense this is hardly the start they dreamed of down 213 but got a touchdown here and you feel like you're back in it Jesse Yeah it's frustrating for this offense as well because they've got the horses they've got Playmakers to light this scoreboard up much more than the three points we're seeing here I think you just got to stay true to yourself do you David and know that the points are going to come well it's also frustrating when the defense has given up points almost every single possession so they they need to score here and take this down a good drive and then the defense needs to pull their weight a little bit too tackled at the 29 let's give him five on that one fullbacks are very unselfish one of the most unselfish positions you can find in football they block 99% of the time but when you can give them that rock get a first down those guys are really big you know they're they're really powerful they usually fall forward No Nonsense no Jukes just hit you in the mouth they go to the ground cross the the 30 out to the 33 and gains four on the play you know it's so important for offens is to want to keep third Downs manageable the way you do that is by having success like that running the football on first down after the productive first down play it's second and six goes to the option look out he's got room they're ripping off chunks of yardage to the 33 those fullbacks are grown men those guys are constantly hitting linebackers and blocking the whole entire game so when you get a chance to give the big boy the ball it's always and you know what it is it's a morale boost for everybody on the whole field everybody gets jacked up and he finally gets to touch the football they'll run the option he'll pull it on the read nice run there to keep things moving before they force him out of bound got a little work done on first down now back to the line on the option and the defense stops him just short of the first down maybe needed a few more chain links to move the sticks I think you run that play you stay out of third and long third and long is not where an offense ever wants to thrive third and medium hey I'm good with that so you run that play to make sure you're set up for a good third down on the option and he'll be taken down but he does have enough for the first down I tell you guys this fullback he's not just a blocker he can catch the football and he can also run it especially on third down what a weapon first down here with time for maybe one more play until the two-minute warning we've reached the two-minute warning and this thing has been onesided and they hope to at least have something to feel good about going into halftime the Black Knights had this offense rolling to throw it's Dy a little screen to the running back he will step out of bounds but not before the big pick up and a for this offense that is a time honored way to slow down the rush hit him with the screen and a chunk play yeah such a great job CU you're flying up the field to get to the quarterback because everything looks like pass down the field let those guys get up the field throw right behind him he does a little bit of the rest making some move he snares it in the end zch Army it's a much needed life from this offense as they Tred to cut away Leep no doubt needed something to go right you're down you got to make plays you got to get your team back in it great start keep chipping away he'll try to tack on one more and with the extra point they draw closer it's 21-1 so a drive there of 82 yards and they get it into the end zone with a 6yd touchdown pass they've cut into this lead it's down to 11 as they're set to kick it away on the run from inside his own five really disciplined job by the coverage unit to get down there and make the stop at the 19 Florida Atlantic takes over again and the owls offense will go back to work he wants to throw the short hands it's Johnson you complete some of these hitch throws early you're setting up the hitch and go later on you can pump fake that and then the receiver can pette right up the sideline that might be a home run play for the offense trying to get a rhythm in the passing game now on second second down looking down field it's fer fires it and they dialed up a shot play but they couldn't make the connection and guys if I'm on offense I am staying aggressive I know you didn't connect there but make sure you keep testing this defense because even if you complete one of those throws that could be the game breaking play they'll try to move the chains on Third and short from the 27 they'll try to get the first air he's got his man dragged down to the turf but not before getting the first down and on that third and short I don't think he was unhappy to see that zone nope was a great job by the offense hey see where the holes in the zone are sit down you only need a little bit of yards on this third down get the conversion move the sticks for Atlantic will go to work with a fresh set of downs [Applause] stop but this passing game does some damage and they move the sticks with the first down they'll immediately call timeout how about this offense they're rolling they got a couple first downs together defense next what's your response what do you got you got to make some adjustments here makes the grab it's more and that is good versatility there and a big hit from the backer in pass coverage I'll tell you I love the play call on first down here you're just trying to find an easy completion and the shortest throw the field for the quarterback is finding your biggest Target and that's the tight end nice job that last completion sets him up on second down he's looking to throw and that's going to fall to the ground incomplete that was a physical match up there third down coming that last incomplete pass has him staring at a third third and three on Third and short they'll try to convert through the air that pass not close as he got drilled trying to deliver it and it'll bring up fourth down and that's a play on third down this offense just has to do a better job protecting their quarterback give them a split second more time to complete that throw but they couldn't do it there Florida Atlantic decides to pun it away and the punt hits at the and goes into the end zone for the Touchback Army has it back and the offense ready to go now they're backed up here Jesse wonder how aggressive they're willing to be pick off what a nice play and even with the short return there in scoring position at the 18 not all DBS make the play at the end right they they can bat the ball down they can to be in position but they don't really secure the football great job by the DB securing the football and forcing the turnover just a few seconds remaining here as they try to put something up before halftime looking to throw it's fer throwing right on target over the middle put it right on him sweet play good pick up and they'll move the change with the first down we've got a timeout in the waning seconds of the half maybe a chance to get off a couple more plays it's first down from the 11 looking to move it through the air and it's intercepted a turnover for the defense trying to take it back he's inside the 40 the 20 touchdown nice how about that D coming up with a play like that what a play by this defense with a pick six and how about the defender exactly what you're supposed to do breaks on the football makes the interception everybody on defense we turn to offense go lay some blocks so my guy can get it and take it back to the house lining up for the Pat and they tack on the extra point to cut the lead to 217 we played two quarters here time to go to Kevin Connors in our halim update gentlemen looks like we've got a great atmosphere today in boa Ron and it's in a clinic in fundamental defensive football both teams have been Relentless and ball Hawking refusing to give an inch this is the kind of slugfest that real football fans love crushing tackles and dudes flying into gaps and passing Lanes a testament to the discipline both of these teams have shown and with that let's send it back to the guys at Howard schnellenberger field Ford Atlantic will try to kick it deep and break the seal on this second [Applause] half here he comes from inside his own five nice job executing all of the assignments as they put a stop to that return turn at the 22 the cadets have it back as Army he goes back on offense they put points on the board in the first half but still find themselves in a hole and if I'm this offense man I'm not trying to change anything I scored a bunch of points I've been successful Jesse the defense has to catch up here in the second half yeah they do they're going to have to start making plays but you can only control what you can control so for the offense go out do your job trusting that your defense is going to make a play kept it on the ground on first down see if they stick with that plan on second [Applause] now on the option that's what you expect from a senior don't give them any extra yards great tackle there and that was a nice second down run and setting up third and inches and now it's physical time right like they know you might run the football you know you probably want to run the football how can you be more physical sometimes bring some extra bodies some extra tight ends in go to that play that you know is your short yardage play the option look and maybe he'll get back to the line of scrimmage but no more than that and the Black Knights will bring the punt team onto the field he's getting a lot of work fourth time he's punted tonight waves the arm for the fair Catch and the catch is made close to the 30 yd line the Florida Atlantic offense will return to the field this possession will be a test after squandering that long drive throwing a pick six Jesse you're right ree I think this is really dependent too on the leaders in this huddle right now to step up and help this offense get back on Pace here on this drive yeah and this defense is froed at the M they're excited they're jacked up they just made a big play they got all the momentum so they're ready to hunt open the drive with a chunk play out past the 40 and they are in business on first down they'll run it from the gun and he doesn't find much Running Room a short gain on the play with the running game on first down now back at it out of the gun the inside hand off to the running back and a really short game before he gets a whole bunch of company from the defense now facing a third and long dropping back it's fer makes the grab over the middle he's got enough to move the chains and they'll spot it at the 47 that is going to drive this defensive coordinator it's a lot of DCs they focus a ton of energy on how their unit performs on third down and in the Red Zone if this defense gives up a couple more third down conversions like that they going to be in for a very unpleasant film session on Monday going to run it it's Moy and he'll step across the sidelines after making a good gain on that one so after the first down run here's second down wide receiver shows motion here's the hand off he is tackled but it'll be a fresh set down well this defense is on its heels right now especially trying to stop the run but just not being physical enough they give up another run right there for a first down someone's going to have to step up and make a play for Atlantic going back to work after moving the chains they'll go to the counter and they try the middle of this Stout defense and they rise to the challenge you can't let the same guy beat you over and over over and over again you got to make adjustments sometimes you got to bring more guys in the Box more guys to the football and make sure he's not the one who beat you got stuffed on first down it's second and 10 softened him up with a run and now to throw he almost had the pick and that could have given him a boost instead it'll be third down all right QB I got to trust you man you already threw one pick now that one probably should have picked you got to give me to feel confident I can drop back and let you throw the football again or else this lease maybe gets a little bit short maybe we start warming up the righty in the bullpit back to pass it's fer using his legs to buy some time at the 20 he's got space he gets the job done picking up the first down then getting down he can throw it he can buy time he can run it what what can't he do this guy's so talented when he does stuff like this there's no way to stop it there's no way to coach a defense up against this he's just really fast and I can't catch him fast motion from the offense on the ground it's Moy and he was fortunate not to lose yardage on that play able to wedge it back to the line of scrimmage well this defense obviously know they have to be able to stop the run now in the second half if they're going to win this game and you wonder if they were able to make some tweaks and some adjustments at halftime maybe getting some more bodies close to the line of scrimmage to give themselves a chance to come back in this game from the gun they'll try the middle they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one boy they' love to move the sticks here and take a shot at it on first and goal on Third and long try to convert through the air Let It Go to The End Zone pass on the way it's picked off I love when people start to understand what we're doing defensively if they're going to pass the football and that's that where they're going to live well I'm going to live in dime I'm going to bring more defensive on the field so I can cover more of these speed guys that they have out there great job by the defensive back breaking on the football making the int making the DC look very smart Army has it back and the offense ready to go they hope to be able to cash in on this drive David after having to punt it last time yeah and I think this offense needs to start it with the first play you need to be successful and productive on that first play and it gets you in less predictable situations no doubt too don't you just feel like there's a little bit more sense of urgency on this drive it just feels like they've got to be able to put some points up on the board here didn't get much on first down it's second and nine dropping back it's Dy he's got it down the middle they stay aggressive and push their way out to the 33 in it's first down when you're a defense you have a choice do you play man or do you play zone they sat back in zone that might change they might change their mind and try to switch to man here shortly in the future with the first down they'll put it in play from the 33 here comes the option finding a way to put that foot in the ground and get it up to the 37 yd Line running game on first down let's see if they go back to it on second [Applause] down gets it past to marker and they'll bring him down but not before he picks up the first down well this defense has to know that this fullback he's not just a blocker he's a guy that can carry the football as well he went Hadad got that first down the Black Knights are moving quickly down the field on the option pow through the defender and runs through another G in his sophomore season he's really learned to find that Running Room well that's just on the defense I'm sorry fullbacks are not supposed to be able to rip off big runs like that the defense they better do a better job tackling as this game goes on and the Black Knights will have it first and 10 they're going to run it to the right runs through the tackle they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one and it wasn't lack of effort by the running back he was trying he could tell he fought one guy off but another guy in his face right away just trying to do something the offensive line needs to do a better job keeping some guys off this guy come on man take care of your running back L one on that last one it's second and 11 the big fullbacks got it and they'll bring him down after a short pick up they line up with some serious work to do if they want to convert this one trying to move the sticks on third down through the air nowhere to go and the ball is loose it's as if that ball had a magnet going back to the offense how in the world did they keep it well the offense is able to avoid disaster right there problem is they fumbled it but thankfully they were able to jump back on and not have a turnover the Black Knights will call on their punt team they busy out there to punt for the fifth time today a fairly short distance here toward the sidelines not his best work fla Atlantic has the ball back and the offense will try to put together a drive that last Drive was promising for a while but you just can't mess it up at the end with the pick Jesse no you got to be able to finish drives especially in this game if you're going to win in David they've got to be able to eliminate the mental mistakes yeah and I don't think you get conservative or play safe you can trust your guy I think you put the ball right back in his hands and let him do his thing halfway there on first down it's second and five from the shotgun the inside G finally pulled down but not before moving the change for a first down well I know this is an offensive line that has a ton of Pride they want to come out each and every game and really impose their will on the D line they got just enough push there on that run play to pick up the first it's first and 10 for this offense from the 42 wide out in motion on the run it's moley able to SC three yard out of that one somehow it's second and seven and it's just simple simple first down run showing your physicality setting your defense up in a good spot got three on first down it's second and seven from the shotgun they'll run it they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one maybe that stop shows this defense is tightening up especially in the Run game the offense frankly they've been able to do whatever they want to do they just handed the ball off this guy's having success left and right no sir no MOS it together the D thinking bring some heat on Third and long from the 44 wants to throw it's fer fires to the middle got him down field they are finding soft spots in this defense he's got it down to the 25 love to see the fearlessness of a quarterback to work the middle of the field and he's got so much confidence in his own arm talent to be able to get that football there before the defense can break it up FL Atlantic trying to get back on the ball coming out on first down with the play fake shoots it to the left he CAU it he gets it in touchdown one of the reasons this offense is so exciting to watch they've got guys that are dangerous after the catch if this quarterback gets through his progression d hits you in stride these guys will take it to the house man it's your job to do the rest right you hit me in stride where I don't have to stop running I don't have to break down it makes it so easy the connection between quarterback wide receiver you can tell this is a good one and that's why they got six on that play he'll try to add another to their lead and the extra point will tack another one onto this lead so that scoring Drive took only six [Applause] plays on the move from inside is five didn't find any crease in that kickoff coverage and he'll be stopped at the 17 the cadets have it back as army goes back on offense he'll do it himself they needed to find enough space and get it moving forward and they're up to the 22 when you're a defense it is stop the run first that is your first responsibility it makes the whole game easy and right now they got it going on the ground the defense is going to have to change something up these little tiny Dink and dunk Dink and dunk you keep doing this they'll go all the way down the field on you so you might want to get a little bit more aggressive really nice stop there from this senior leader well they go quarterback designed run on that play but the defense just not buying it nice job everybody playing downhill and making a tackle close to the line of scrimmage and this offense is desperate to keep this drive alive trailing by multiple possessions and it's getting late he'll ride his man on the option and the defense had his hands full but they finally wrestle him down short of the first down and the Black Knights decide to punt it away they're up to a half dozen kicks today he will signal for the fair Catch and take it just inside the 35 fla Atlantic takes over again and the owl offense will go back to work they Unleashed an aerial assault last time that took them right right to the end zone David so reee with that drive I think you've accomplished something you wanted to accomplish make this defense think you put them back on their heels now shoot Palmer you might be able to slip a few runs in on this drive to really Jack him up yeah I like that idea but I also like the fact that speed kills they've got it at the receiver position so if You' got one-on-one matchups man take advantage the offense setting up shop at the 46 first and 10 quarterback on the keep picks up the first down still moving and he's brought down after a nice gain well after that big gain by the QB on the Zone read on an early down in the drive it'll be interesting to see moving forward if the defensive end stops crashing down so quickly if he just starts to hesitate to take the quarterback away that's going to open up the running back for these plays in the future they have a first down at the 41 yd line from the gun the running back looking for room went to the running game on first down now here they come again back to throw it's fer a little release to the back he's BS but a big play on that one and it'll be a first down I want to get my running backs the ball in space as much as possible and sometimes it doesn't work in the running game but I can throw it to him I can try to create some space out wide dump him the football let him make some catches and see if I can't get some big plays out of [Applause] it and you want to talk about his favorite receiver it might be everybody based on the number of guys getting touches in a chance to show off their hands in the passing game one quarter to go and might we have the makings of a classic fourth quarter finish wide receiver now comes in motion the inside hand off runs through a tackle and he fights his way forward gets away from one but not much doing on that one and I love this if I'm on offense I'm trying to eat that clock let it take down a field goal here I'm up by two possessions I'm still in a very good place I don't have to get over aggressive Jesse if I don't want to no and you can put this game Out Of Reach too if you can score a touchdown this thing's basically over and you know at this area of the field it's really hard to throw the football because the windows are so small so be the more physical team go ice this game if they can convert here that type of play can really give you a shot of momentum wide receiver coming across in motion out of the gun the running back has it and they're able to get a third down stop here see if they go for it on four they'll send out the kicker here it's good and that was dead solid perfect and they'll push that lead out a little further they'll kick it away after putting up a field goal on that last [Applause] Drive fielded In The End Zone it's Robinson he's brought down at the 16 would have been much better off to take the touch back Army has it back and the off ready to go their Drive chart is starting to look a little monotonous punt punt punt David and their defense is starting to get a little frustrated too they just keep putting me back on the field possession after possession Jesse this offense needs to get their heads out of there you know what the punter's on the sideline with the oxygen mask right now he's been playing so much he's not used to this this offense they just got to stay on the field they've got to put a drive together and get some balance going running and throwing the ball they'll run the option that's what you expect from a senior don't give them any extra yards great tackle there and after that last run we'll see if they keep it on the ground on third goes to the option he just has a nose for those little crevices to be able to find space and he picks up the first down I'll tell you the running backs and the quarterbacks in this offense they got to give a lot of their success running the football to this offensive line up front they're getting tremendous push it doesn't matter who has the football who's keeping the football you're just seeing this group up front drive this defense backwards reading the option it's da and snuffed out that play from the start he probably should have given the ball to the back well they were trying to set up the option but the quarterback had no chance did you see the defensive tackle penetrate what a great first step he shot right through the offensive line and got the tfl he'll try to overcome that last play on second and 15 moving the running back forcing the defense to adjust a bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one and great job getting in the back field making it very difficult to him to make reads and understand what the heck's going on bottling him up that's the biggest thing when you play a running quarterback you want to bottle him up you want to set those edges really really firm and make him turn back inside where all the big boys are coming and you don't let that speed get to the outside on Third and long does it need to take the check down and the pass rush is effective and they tackle him at the 19 you know it's going to be so important for this offense to get better up front protecting and try to give this quarterback a pocket to throw from because David right now in that last play he had no chance yeah and step one in in stopping a good passing attack is always being able to affect the quarterback and and it's not always with sacks and sometimes it's with pressures but when you get the sacks and now you get them behind the sticks and put them in more predictable situations that is exactly what you want from your defense he gets a block he's brought down but a really solid effort to pick up every bit of yardage he could on the punt return the Florida Atlantic offense will return to the field they had to settle for the Chip Shot field goal last time Jesse they'd love for this one to pay off bigger yeah it just comes down to execution too did a nice job out in the field stalled a little bit once they got down to the goal line so they just need to be a little bit more crisp here D yeah and listen I I think the first part was the most important part you got to put the drive together first to get down there now when we get down there focus on execution and getting six points let's see what they've got on second down from the shotgun the hand off to the back and they'll stop him after a minimal pick up a third and long coming up here to the air it's fer a strike down field he's Off to the Races and he'll take it in they couldn't get him on the ground who gives a hoop the owls do it's a touchdown and this offense continuing to put up points this game's Out Of Reach you know you're going to win but still throwing the football still finding that connection I imagine there'll be some salty handshakes at the end of this game lining up to tack one more onto that lead and the extra point splits the upright and there up a full three touchdowns a 21 Point cushion in the fourth the kickoff unit about to go to [Applause] work he'll start the return inside as five he was hoping something a little more Dynamic but they get him on the ground at the 20 the cets have it back his army he goes back on offense that last Drive fizzled out Jesse they had to punt it yeah they did and David they're just going to have to do a better job this time around erasing the mental mistakes and just trying to solve the defensive riddle understanding what they're trying to do to you and attack them at this point of the game in the fourth quarter it is going to be tough for this offense to get some completions here because now trailing by this much the defense is expecting pass and they're putting a whole bunch of extra DBS on the field to help them out in coverage running back goes in motion looking to pass it's Dy fires to the wide out wide open down field and he'll get it up to the 38 it'll be a first down when you're throwing these comeback routes man the timing has got to be so good between the two of them because you know the ball is going to be in the air long time you can't throw it late it's going to get picked that time really nice job getting it out early and receiver doing a nice job on his route so that the ball was right on him as soon as he turned red comes out throwing on first down fires to the middle got his Man Down field and a pick up of better than 30 yard on that completion before the defense brings him down a big gain there as they did a tremendous job working the middle of the field yeah and if you're going to complete that throw Reese quarterbacks have got to play with anticipation you've got to get it out of your hand hands early and give your receiver an opportunity before the defense gets to the ball they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one well they're trying to hand it off to the fullback for a quick hitter but just nowhere to go the defensive line great job getting penetration to set up that play lost one on that last one it's second and 11 they'll run the option really nice stop there from this senior leader ball spotted at the 27 they're facing a third and long to try to keep their hopes of a touchdown alive pre- snap Motion in the back field and he's not going to make it the defense denying him the first down down by multiple possessions they can't come up empty on this drive in the fourth quarter they'll go for it on fourth down fires deep toward the end zone and it's incomplete way downi the defense Rises to the occasion offense set on first [Applause] down from the gun to give looking for room banging slithering whatever it takes to get that ball up to the 32 man that's the advantage of having a good coaching staff that teach these players in this type of situation with the lead late in the game you want to stay in the field of playing keep the clock ticking they do that after that nice run good spot after that seveny pick up on on first down it's second and three the run from the shotgun and it looks as if Florida Atlantic will have enough for the first [Applause] down here's this offense with a fresh set of downs using his legs it's Moy and this one will be stopped for No Gain how about the defender being a heat seeking missile he was on radar lock he found the football and flew down with some bad intentions they got nothing on the last play it's second and 10 they'll put the tight end in motion power football with the Run third down conversions are a huge stat and this one would be a doozy if they can pull it off trying play action he off one deep down the left side and that'll be inom wa they certainly weren't afraid to take a shot there and now it's fourth down and you got to wonder if this offense is trying to run the score up because they're blowing this team out here we are in the fourth quarter and they're still taking shots they're going to play until this clock reads all zeros fourth down and the punt team sends it the other way was looking for more Running Room but found nothing but more tacklers he's down at the 24 Army has it back and the offense ready to go these last couple of drives Jesse have been about the defense making clutch stand I think for this offense they can stay aggressive knowing that their defense is going to bail them out time and time again here yeah and especially when you go for those fourth down situations you do that a lot of times because you know your defense can make stands make stops they did on that last possession for you offense gets set for second down a little pre-nap eye candy for the defense and he can't escape and down he goes and it's been a long day for this offense if you can't protect your quarterback it's hard to be successful that's the fifth sack they have given up the offensive coordinator has no answers and this defense has been flying around Ball's at the 27 this offense facing a third and long looking for a man it's Dy moving away from pressure quarterback gets the first down they make the stop but what a job on the scramble to get loose and pick up that first down sometimes these guys just have eyes in the back of their head you saw it right there he was able to buy himself time get outside the at that point I think the decision was pretty easy hey I can go get this with my feet he was able to do that now they got a fresh set of downs finally some signs of life from this offense which has done nothing in the second half it's first and 10 he's going to let it go it's complete a huge pick up and he'll ramble to the 34 before he's finally knocked down and the best thing about this the offense can't worry about the scoreboard just keep trying to make plays like that Jesse I know a lot of people in the stadium probably feel like this game is over maybe it's been over for a while or e but don't tell that to this quarterback and his teammates they're still out there scrapping and Pla looking to go up top on first down gets it out fast not a whole lot of room there three yards maybe second and seven and defensively this is exactly what you want right you got the big lead so you can play Big Zone coverages just keep the ball in front of you keep your eye on the quarterback rally to the football gang tackle and you're going to win this game the Black Knights want to pick up the tempo on second down looking again to throw got him in it's Reynolds and just a short safe pass play they pick up a few well here's the problem offensively because you're trailing by so much so late in the game the defense now is going to be playing big Zone coverages they're going to allow you to throw the ball underneath in the middle of the field rally to make a tackle and bleed the clock it's going to be hard now for this offense to claw their way back in this one they'll throw on Third and short and the incomplete pass will bring up fourth down this defense has just been all over this guy all game long Under Pressure they're finding a way to get to him and affect his of course they have an interception in this game that's why they've got a big lead here in the fourth quarter this guy has never gotten into a rhythm down by multiple possessions you can't come up empty on this drive they'll go for it on fourth down Nifty little dance St and the Black Knights got the first down man oh man the offensive line probably just swelled up a little bit relying on them on that type of fourth down play oh and in that kind of situation if you're the back there can be no hesitation you know you can't be dancing around if you see the crease you got to put your foot in the ground and go get it and he did it right there wants to throw on first down trying to get to him pressure all over the quarterback and down he goes at the 24 and man is that a just indictment of the day your quarterback getting drilled late in the football game this offense has SP they haven't found any kind of good Rhythm they haven't done things that that really gives your coach confidence and makes you want to believe in them this offense has a lot of work to do before their next football game to the air it's da they're bringing heat that pressure got to him and he just had to Chuck it out of bounds and this is just one of those days man where everything has gone wrong right like they just haven't been in a rhythm they haven't they haven't got it going and never built the man this is this is one of those days that you learn from you try to grow from a lot of things that we're going to show in the film room that people aren't going to like but hopefully you can learn from it and do better next time deep shot for the end zone and he's got it touchdown Army nice job by the offense going down the field putting points on the board but you're still down a couple possessions still need some good things to happen you need your kicker to go over there and get warmed up we need on side we need to score some points we need a lot of things to go right to win this football game here comes the two-point try he's looking to throw dances away from the pressure going to his left and the quarterback is sack big play by the defense that is probably going to be wiped out by that penalty flag I think a jumped off they're definitely up against it time running out down two possessions they'll try the onside kick not much drives more anxiety than waiting to see if the hands team can Corral the onside kick and they do Ford Atlantic has the ball back and the offense will try to put together a drive they're in command of this game now let's see if they tried to rub a little salt in the wound or happy with getting the W yeah and listen this this makes the post game hand take fun sometimes if you do choose to rub a little Sala and keep chucking and keep scoring I'm here for it Jesse like your job is to score points it's my job to stop it keep the foot to the accelerator keep trying to play ball I agree a th% that's like Steve sprayer back in the day when I was playing for the Gator you go and play for him touchdown Florida Atlantic and the punishment has been extended that score looks as if this one might have put it a little too far out of reach this game's pretty much over that was just the icing on the cake but you know speaking of cake I'm kind of hungry can we can we get out of here can we finish this game so I can go get something to eat he'll try to add another to their lead and with the extra point they pushed the lead out a little further only took two plays to find the End Zone on that drive and gashing them on the touchdown run finished it off kickoff team has the ball teed up and they're about ready to go he'll bring it back from inside to five didn't find any crease in that kickoff coverage and he'll be stopped at the 17 the cadets have it back his army goes back on offense the deficit is large hope is fainting but they'll try to finish strong made a lot of mistakes in this game and that's why it looks like they're going to take the L lots of things to improve on lots of things to coach upon and at this point I think if you're a head coach DAV but you're just trying to see which of your guys aren't quitting late in the game yeah which is a real thing by the way who's going to compete to the final whistle who what do we talk about all the time coaches are always preaching these guys don't worry about the scoreboard compete as hard as you can so good opportunity to try to finish this game with something positive well the offense able to pick up some extra yards after that curl throw there and because the QB got it to his guy early he was able to turn around make a guy Miss and go pick up some Yak sprinting to the line to try to get this one off clar's running he spikes it clar stops as they try to rally late this offense has a second down play to the air it's Dy a deep throw as the clock winds down and this defense has put a game together like it is hard to put all the fastet of Defense together run defense pass defense they've been so good man dialed in you could tell they were ready they were fast they were physical they dominated this football game today they line up and it is a long way to the sticks from here third and long and he'll try to throw for it and that's incomplete a Defender all over him knock the ball to the ground fourth down coming up it's a nice adjustment by the defense here with a big lead in the game you're putting extra DBS on the field knowing the offense has to throw to get back in this one in the fourth quarter so best cover guys on the field and they force an incompletion on the last one on fourth down going to the air downfield and incomplete the defense holds running out the clock a mere formality between them and a victory as we have Victory form coming he will take a knee and the defense can stop the clock one more time but this one is just about in the books for for
