year as evidenced by that inflated he's going to have to find a way to limit the base runners put his team in a position to win a ball game so we know he's prepared we know this guy is a competitor leader in home run so you know the pitchers on that other side man they took a lot of time preparing for him in that pregame meeting you know he's got a lot of pop and it's real pop it's not fluky at all he can absolutely change the out look of a game very quickly so watch out when he steps in next offering is in for a strike swing in a Miss as he was late that time when you throw fast ball by a guy like that I imagine it's got to feel incredible look for him to throw it again at some point one out base is empty and it goes just foul that one back up the middle and it gets through so man pop lately three home runs over the last five games in the dirt and the runner stays where he is two gone but the goahead run is at first here in game one of this three game set that one missed [Applause] there's a strike now two and one in today's game not that many fast ball counts but hitters still in the back of their minds they're looking for one 20 change up call right there excellent pitch selection to go with oh great stop to first got him a beautiful play to end the inning well that right there was all pre pitch positioning put himself in the perfect spot to make a great play [Applause] back here in Houston starting on the mound in this one George Kirby what do you have on him sing well boo something of interest to me is that this guy's really struggled win working out of the stretch pitching with runners in scoring position so the key for him is tack hitters try to get ahead in the count and limit allowing Runners on base and if he can do that I think that will help him to avoid those situations now at some point he's going to have to deal with them and I think it's just one of those mental things that he's going to have to overcome right back to him on the mound tosses the first one gone bottom half of the first let's take a look at our lineup and a key factor for this club in that leadoff spot Jose Altuve these days we know teams you know they put a game plan together for every hitter in a lineup but a guy like this they Circle him make sure he doesn't beat you uh so you know they put in a little extra time and effort and on how they're going to approach him he can be a huge Difference Maker when he's hot so it's going to be fun to see how they try to work him right here line drive that's out number two hey man four pitches two outs that is an excellent Pace batting third here's yordon Alvarez and singy we already know he's going to finish the season with a new career high at home runs that Clips a corner I mean that's perfect location right on the black I mean over and over again this guy demonstrates the ability to hit those spots they're so tough to as a swings and misses throws the first in time and they get the out on Alvarez three up three down inning over end of one and we're still [Applause] scoreless second inning set to go and stepping in for the Mariners Jorge palano as the Lefty gets to work and takes low for ball one [Applause] would chase that time James Kingsley working the plate Kingsley is pretty well respected around the league yeah when you talk to players I think consistently he is one of the guys you hear compliments about players appreciate the job he does back there yeah that's kind of all you can ask for really just a fair chance to go out and have success [Applause] and the pitch and that's downstairs and outside slice the other way that's a base hit so a runner aboard to start the inning he was all over that one really good swing right there he got a pitch that he knew he could handle allowed himself to stay back just a tad bit longer and he hit the ball on the screws checks over to First back safely here's Josh Roos ball one no strikes called strike a sinker at the bottom of the zone [Applause] and here it comes and another [Applause] ball double play ball to Second Altuve slings to Second and that's two I think four six3 double plays like that way tougher than these guys make it look sometimes because no matter how you do it the feed from the second basem is a tough one that's where footwork really comes into play but right there very well done here's Dylan Moore not getting the results he's wanted at the plate recently only two hits over the last five games ball one no strike the pitch and now two and nothing [Applause] and a good eye there two out space is empty and there's Ball Four pretty easy walk right there last pitch wasn't even much to think about Cal righ up next for the Mariners a switch hitter batting right step off throw to first more back in on a what I like the aggressiveness right there looks like it's going to be tough to score in this one really good pitching so far so why not try to put some pressure on couldn't catch up to the heater saw ball counts one [Applause] and0 breaking ball in there for a [Applause] strike and now the Lefty check swing he went to far and it's a strike one ball two strikes not even close there the count now two and two and there's one down and now it's Julio Rodriguez 0 for one with a fly out to Center and that one is lifted in the air no trouble here puts it away for the out and a couple of quick outs JP Crawford up next for the Mariners and he is already singled in this game misses just off the outside edge I think that was a strike next offering is in for a [Applause] strike kicks and fires the short stop takes the ball that one misses and now three and one top of the third no score and that's ball perfect well he tried to nibble right there and just missed his spot hitter didn't offer at it now he has somebody to worry about over at first so digging in Randy Ros Arena tries to hold up AEL to First no swing Gary Simmons with the call two outs right through there for a strike in the air out to Center coming on makes the grab after a long run and that'll do it one left for Seattle still no [Applause] score set for the bottom of the Third and stepping in for the Astros Macio dubo that one misses in the dirt dubon a former Gold Glove winner 29 years old and he was born in Honduras bounce to Third and a quick out number one batting the first number and here's the first baseman good power not great in the OBP Department that's in there one one if I'm at the dish right now I am aggressive over the heart of the plate this guy's been filling up the strike zone so you know you're going to get a good pitch to hit and as nasty as the stuff is you might as well take all three swings and ball one oh2 count you got the opportunity to expand the Zone could get the chase there let's down to the inning ripped to third but handled and that will end the inning well he was ready to make a move I don't know if his eyes were open when he made that catch but it is a highlight play great job of ending the inning
