strike out he knows he needs to miss barrels get some soft contact let the defense do work behind him and I think a guy like that can keep a good Tempo don't give hitters time to adjust or think they rarely ever see three curve balls in a row because that's one of those pitches that's most effective when you haven't seen it recently you might see three Sliders in a row but right there was steing struck out swinging leading off the bottom of the first this is kind of a tough matchup as a left-handed hitter facing a left-handed pitcher what you tell yourself is I want to stay Square to the we're still early in the stages of this game but this bat has the potential of being a Difference Maker you've got to stay calm in the Box strike right there [Applause] here L drive that's a base hit the tie run is in to score from third you're TI at one well he gets it done in a big spot to get the run across I can watch base hits like that one all day long and so could every hitting coach in the league just a nice line drive into center field and now they've got some speed on first so we'll see if they try to get him into motion two outs runner on first runner on the goal p in for a strike th was one of those high percentage Advantage counts where batting averages are just so much higher showed off some really nice Oppo pop with that swing and just couldn't get it over the fence but I he deal in for a strike and it's old and one well he's looking great so far it helps when over 80% of your first pitches are strikes he might be able to go the distance if he keeps this up to the pitcher here to start the bottom of the seven Brandon fat and compared to a lot of other relievers strikeouts have not been a big weapon for him this year so the defense should be active here's the catcher Conor W it's interesting he plays kind of a a power spot defensively but runs pretty well so when you're looking at that position you're not expecting someone that has maybe above average speed but he does the one and I think that skill set really upgrades the position because when you have that kind of speed it makes the whole team that much better that one missed now three and0 what about a playing another position on defense one that would require a little more range absolutely and I think if push came to shove where they had to make a move during a game surprise a lot of people you might even be able to put him in center field F off down the right side and the righty deals foul we'll see another payoff pitch right-handed reliever bounced and that got the pitcher the throw won't get there in time and he's on it first and now they'll hustle out to check on him that was quite a shot he took as you see him down on the knee yeah clearly in some real pain but he will not want to come out of this game if he doesn't have to it's looking to me like he's going to try to shake it off and continue here's the second baseman David Hamilton and he grounds one to the right side and he picks it up and he'll put it in his pocket if you're a base runner you got to stay dialed in here look for anything in the dirt try your best to get into scoring position the goal ahead run a board at first nobody [Applause] out one is outside and it's a ball and a strike just missed with that back door breaking ball if he gets a swing and miss or called strike 02 count instead it's one-1 look for him to go back to that pitch later in this at back kicks Indi laser face hit throw holds him at second but the goahead run now in scoring position and still nobody out back to back base hits really good swing right there he got a pitch that he knew he could handle allowed himself to stay back just a tad bit longer and he hit the ball on the screws now a good opportunity to potentially Jump Ahead in this game here in the later Innings first and second no outs and stepping in for Boston that one is absolutely belted that's back there feeling for the wall as he makes the catch grounder tags it second now we'll see if moving up to third there pays off for him he didn't have to tag and go but now he can score a lot of different ways doesn't have to be a base hit we see what happens here's the center fielder jiren Durant oh with pretty good speed over there at first base I think the pitcher got to slow everything down hold the ball a little bit step off just try to break the timing of a potential base dealer that one finds the Zone it's 0 one I think ultimately you want to tie him up get the ball in on the plate so that he can't get the barrel to it and hit it to the outfield on the ground to short base hit now there you go the RBI machine another clutch run scoring it back yeah he's been so good in these situations call it clutch if you want but his resume speaks
