and now your merer first pitch moments away and today's starter Logan Gilbert what should we keep an eye on here well Bo maybe a little pedestrian there in terms of the ER but with those numbers you expect to be in a ball game and have an opportunity to win and really that's all his teammates can ask for so we'll see if he's able to be consistent in this one all right ready to go here now it's the rookie DH number 12 outside low and that's ball two just missed I would expect in this three count you're taking all the way see if he'll walk you that one finds the Zone that's strike one out to short on to first one up one down batting Che and time now to check out the A's lineup not the highest team batting average for this squad they're down towards the bottom of the league in total hits and singi because of that they don't score a ton yeah and boo I'm looking for a little better performance out of them today I mean if they're going to be dangerous if they're going to be able to create scoring opportunities they're going to have to start making some individual adjustments a lot of players in this lineup probably aren't happy with how they've hit the ball so far so today's a chance to get something going and a pitch so a foul ball makes it one and two gets a piece and stays alive one out base is empty knocks that one away and we'll do it again [Applause] next offering is solid swing right there caught it out front and ripped it into the outfield for the base hit those always feel great and now a chance to maybe get creative on offense with good speed on first fought to go to work for the first time we've got no score you're dialed into the show back in Seattle and on the hill in this one Joey Estus what should we keep an eye on here yeah he's definitely had a struggle so far this year as evidenced by that inflated whip but he's going to have to find a way to limit the base runners put his team to win a game so we know he's prepared we know this guy is a already in this inning they're definitely looking to do some more damage that's hard hit in the line and there's one down throw and it gets away and now we check out the Mariners lineup someone who makes things happen for them in part with his legs Harry Ford well boo there aren't many guys who have a flare for the big moment like he does I mean batting over 400 with runners in scoring position are you kidding me I I know it's not guaranteed or an automatic but I hope we get to see him in a close late game situation with runners in scoring position and just see is he truly a machine or not and the rander deals runner on the goal throw is low and he can break it when you're trying to SW a bag against an elite level arm behind the plate like this guy better get a great jump and hope that your speed can finish this job that was a great jump right there really nice steal of second base that one inside now one and two O2 fast way out of the Zone I think he's trying to speed him up got to the lead even tighter well I'm sure there's a big grin on his face right now boo he's probably had some of those that didn't stay fair but off the bat it looked like it was going to been foul was able to keep it in there tuck nicely and he gets the jog around the base is good for him now it's Randy a Rosara still only one out here in the [Applause] inning just missed it's a good take one ball stke and down on strikes two down now the batter now Jorge palano he's struggled to make contact lately striking out nearly twice in each of the last five games and that's in for a strike go ball one away with making a mistake like that and right there he made him Pay Here's Dylan Moore definitely scuffling at the dish lately just one hit in his last five games that's in there well a really rough inning out there on the mound and uh this is one of those where you learn a lot about a guy's toughness and his ability to turn the page and keep pressing forward the one- one is fouled [Music] off and another ball out towards Right Center that's well struck that's back there and it hits the fence and he's got a double everything came together for him just miss down on a home run right there but he certainly hit it hard enough just didn't have the right launch angle to carry it over the wall but still an excellent swing of the back Josh rohawk stands in now and watches strike [Applause] one league yeah that's a solid one no doubt I mean who's better to ask than you I kind of wonder if Rusty is his actual name or just a nickname yeah no clue and that's outside and the count is three and one anyways Rusty's got a good Zone very good on the the corners of the plate but he'll give pitchers a little bit above the letters and below the knees if they're earning it outside and that is ball four so man aboard and now the center fielder Julio Rodriguez he walked and came around to score his first time up right through there for a strike the M's up big in this one bottom half of inning number two lined and that's a base hit throw back in quickly first and second now with nobody out just so sound in his mechanics hits against a firm front side and the hands just continue to carry through the middle of the [Applause] field and now it's going to be Lukey first pitch misses there's a strike well looks like he's wanting to work the upper part of the strike zone what does that mean swings and misses slider got him for strike three oh that slider was way out of the zone and for me it just comes down to not seeing the pitch out of the hand not tracking it into the zone and then also being a little bit anxious not confident in your two- strike approach and so when a guy's in that position you get him to commit early and a lot of times you get the swing and Miss as you did right there first and second two now you're in game one of this three game set and that gets the inside corner for a strike rander kicks deals Lin and that's a base hit around third here's the throw to the plate the tag and he's in there comes through with the RBI showed a willingness to drive that pitch the opposite way didn't get jumpy didn't try to pull the ball he let it get deep took the barrel right to it and then extended through the swing for the line drive base hit so first and second with two outs Jorge palano now at the plate he's already homered here in this one there's a strike next offering in there for a strike and it's O and two first and second two down [Applause] got him swinging two men left stranded but they do push across one we head on now to the top of the third it's the Mariners seven and the A's nothing and welcome back to the ballpark top half of the third inning so here's Brown at the play Brown and immediately pumps in a strike to the left-handed hitter clearly down in this ball game and you can't look at the deficit and try to get it all back in one swing it's got to come one at bad at a time and even shrink it down smaller pitch to pitch make that guy on the mound work to get you out next one in the [Applause] [Applause] dirt Line Drive caught well baseball can be cruel can it I mean sometimes it gives and sometimes it takes away he did everything right on that swing but he's got nothing to show for it Nick Allen stands in here takes ball one low the A's with a lot of ground to make up we're here in the top half of inning number three and he hits a ground ball right side first two batters retired here in the top of the third the B the designated so the lineup flips over now here's the leadoff hitter for the A's swings and misses one that's not even close to the Zone wouldn't chase that time and a one-1 swing and a miss one ball stra the W to kick the pitch smoked on the ground a second the throw to first and it's a one two three inning nothing doing there for the A's not going their way it's 7 [Applause] nothing back in Seattle as we go to the last of the third and here's the first baseman Dylan Moore MO in for a strike one and one well these Mariners really impressing me with the quality of their bats in this one it's been fun getting a chance to see them go to work it jumped all over the starter and knocked him out of the game early he just was never able to settle in and the damage was done by the time he got the hook hit hard that gets through wasting no time he's two for two now on the night and just a triple and home run away from the cycle seriously we're starting with this already Ro Hawks batting for the second time and that's strike one swing and a ball hit out towards left center field and it's caught for the out I mean when you're chasing the opposing starter in the first inning or two that's just such a tone Setter for the game and it puts the other team back on their heels and it Stills a lot of confidence in your lineup from top to bottom Haner in the box now no balls in a strike rder takes off strike in there the second well I'm sure that steal will raise a couple of eyebrows because of this big lead but I think it's more respect for their opponent knowing that they've got to continue to add on if they're going to win this game don't take it as an offense take it as a sign of respect goes down looking well thatat seemed to be over as soon as it started three pitch strike out you've got to be better at the plate right there at least to foul something off extend that at Crawford stands in here tried to hold back his swing there but went around oh at the belt and fires back-to-back breaking pitches away you get the feeling as a hitter that the pitcher is afraid of you that he doesn't want to challenge you so I think the confidence level is raised right here they say you win two [Applause] two man it's second keeps the back going with a foul [Applause]
