[Music] welcome everyone to College Park Maryland Home of the Maryland Terin fans have been eager for this Clash coming up and what some affectionately refer to as the snake pit there's nothing quite like a great rivalry matchup in college football the bitterness the intensity the lifetime of memories that will come as a result of what we're about to see in this one as we'll see a squad from the Big 10 the ruer Scarlet Knights taking on another team from the Big 10 the Marilyn Carin for EA Sports college football I'm ree Davis joined here in the booth by David Pollock and Jesse Palmer and guys let's get this thing started and the Scarlet Knights will kick it away to [Applause] start Hills Darth the return inside is five he was looking for more Running Room but none to be found as he stopped at the 23 the Terin offense will have the first possession of the game and the adrenaline is pumping on overdrive in games like this guys and it's crucial to get your emotions under control no doubt in rivalry games you've got to limit the mental errors and you've got to limit the penalties cuz those will kill you p and you got to come out under control it means so much we know that the fans are all talking about it but it's just football they got nothing on the last play it's second and 10 back to pass it's Edwards makes his connection brought down at the 33 but not before he gets 10 and a really good job by the quarterback being very decisive he saw his matchup he went for it he attacked it got the posi game I would say he's going to find that guy a few more times today and this set of downs gets started from the 33 first and [Applause] 10 used the play fake now to throw fires to the wide out it's caught downfield after burner's coming a huge gain on that one before he ran out of bounds and he add is the first down I know it's early in the game but defensively after that play you know you have have to tackle the catch when this guy gets the ball in his hands he is so dangerous after the fact so it's okay for him to make catches just got to get him to the ground [Applause] quickly they just changed the dynamic of this possession in a heartbeat and now it's first and 10 from inside the red zone looking for room it's heni looks as if we have an injury on that last play and we'll take a break to check him out going to work on second down in the red zone is still some ground to cover to pick up that first down they'll run it from the gun he bullies it his way all the way down to the 5 yd line boy they'd love to move the sticks here and take a shot at it on first and goal they turn to the passing game on Third and short and he race it to the house Dodge down Maryland this defense has their hands full in this game because of what you saw right there this quarterback is one of the fastest players in the entire country and he runs one in they're going to have to do a better job getting hats to him because they know they're going to see the QB run a lot today [Music] [Applause] they'll try to add another to their lead and with the extra point they get the first seven of the game so that scoring Drive took only six plays and they punctuated it with a 5yd touchdown run they're lining up to boot it away and he takes this from inside the five he was looking for some Running Room but not much to be found as he stopped at the 18 so Rutter's offense will try to get something going with their first possession one thing to keep an eye on in this game when they get a back isolated on a linebacker who wins that matchup quarterback likes the match up but this linebacker he's different man not only is he a hitter he's got the athleticism to cover people too normally you say that's a win for the running back running back on a linebacker I win but this guy is different interested to watch this match up you know it's so important for offenses to want to keep third Downs manageable the way you do that is by having success like that running the football on first down solid pick up of four on first down it's second and six he's looking to throw he's going up top he's got it on the left can any one catching touchdown Scarlet Knights made the snag and strolled his way into the end zone did not take long to get into the end zone now let's see if this gets this offense to hit overdrive and we may have a situation here we might have points more points and more points you keep putting Drives together like that that quickly cheun up that much yardage defenses are going to have to get something f it out [Music] [Applause] he'll try to tack on one more for the extra point right down the boulevard aggressive play calling on that drive just to plays they get the long touchdown pass to pay it off all tied up and just about set to kick it away he'll bring it back from inside to spot he was looking for some Running Room but not much to be found as he stopped at the 18 here comes the Maryland offense back onto the field out of the gun the inside hand off looking for a crease didn't find a lot of room let's give him two out to the 20 I like feeding my guy I like getting my running back touches feeding the ball so he can break some of those big runs but I'm also okay with these little ones set the tone stay balanced picked up two yards on that last one they need eight on second [Applause] down he'll do it himself got the first down and still on his feet they get him on the ground but it's a first down ooh I like that option play I'd keep running that too cuz it's obvious the defense right now is really keying in on this running back that was a big point of emphasis for them all week long in practice and it's opening up holes now for the quarterback to run it'll be a first and 10 from the 29 the give out of the gun what a good run there he has enough for the first down all right well look I know the defense was feeling real good about their run de coming into this one and how they've been playing up to this point but finally David the offense breaks through and they finally generate something positive on the ground and I can't tell you how easy it is when you're going to throw the ball consistently and I know it I'm going to pin my ears back and I'm going to get to the quarterback it makes life really easy on a defensive line but when you can have balance now the defense doesn't know what's coming they need more of this if they're going to be Su and he can't find a receiver and down he goes we anticipate this one being much tighter than the last time these two met when it was a blowout David and here's the thing you got an opportunity right now you got the football early in this game to show you this is going to be more of the same Palmer well we talked to both coaching staffs and players and they're all very aware of what happened the last time these two teams played so expect everybody's aame today Reese your right we expect this one to be a lot tighter the give to the tailb and maybe he'll get back to the line of scrimmage but no more than that well they want to come out and try to get the Run game established but UPF front defensively they made a play they gave up nothing on that one got to find some breathing room if you're going to establish yourself on the ground and there wasn't any that time yeah ree I wonder now if this offense is maybe going to try to get to the perimeter of the field and see if they can use their speed to hurt this defense on Third and long he's going to have to throw for it turns it on in Midfield and they'll finally get him down after for a terrific pick up he's got such good awareness in the pocket he does a good job of feeling the rush and you know it's a pass and you want to keep your eyes down field but he sees an opening and if he sees an opening he's got the ability to go get it and get a first down the terrains will snap it on First and 10 the running back has it oh what a move and he runs through one tackle and picks up a few yeah this coaching staff they're getting this offensive line lathered up and into a rhythm now they're letting him drive off the ball on first down and he's running plays and they're getting chunks of yardage got eight on first down now looking at a second and two power football with the Run brought to the ground but not before getting it up for the first down and another nice G by the offense all right defense we got to change something up here they're putting a big drive together play after play having a lot of success how do we break the Rhythm how do we give him something that can create a tackle for a loss or a sack or something to get momentum back on my side going up top on first down he's moving out of the pocket at the 20 he's got space and he gets out of there and gets some yardage and gets down without taking any punishment he can throw it he can buy time he can run it what what can't he do this guy is so talented when he does stuff like this there's no way to stop there's no way to coach a defense up against this he's just really fast and I can't catch him as they get set to snap it just about to reach the end of the quarter they'll run it on first and goal brought down at the seven after picking up three we're through one period and these receivers are showing out big time take a look at the stats after that tight first quarter this second period ought to be a lot of [Applause] fun he'll run it to the middle looking for the end zone and he's sprinting he'll take it all the way Dodge down car and what a push up front by this offensive line everyone playing in unison driving out of their stance working into the second level hats on hats creating a lan for that running [Music] back lining up to tack one more onto that lead and the pat gives him a 14-7 lead so a scoring drive there of 83 yds and he found his way to the end zone from the seven to C it about to kick it off after punching it in for the [Applause] touchdown on the run from inside of zone five and the returner runs out of real estate as he goes down and the ruers offense heads back onto the field now they need to put something together to answer that last score there's a lot of pressure too on this offense to have to execute at a high level they've got to score points David but they can't go too fast cuz their defense right now is tired and I think that's the difficulty being a play call like I have to balance all of those things my defense is a little bit tired I can't put on the field but I got to be aggressive because this is a back and forth type game so a lot to process and think about 8- yd pickup on first down leaves him with second and short the give from the gun tackle is made but not until he gets the first down I love when players understand situations and they understand where the first down marker is and they understand where I got to get to a lot of people you'll see run north south and try to bounce out wide and make big plays sometimes it's not about making big plays sometimes it's about getting that first down to make sure I get an extra set of downs instead of trying to make those big touchdown runs excellent coverage and good use of the hands to knock it away you don't see a of batted balls on hitch routs because most of the time you give a little bit of a cushion that's a nice job by the defender giving some cushion but understanding the receiver is sitting down and going and getting a handle the football after the misfire it's second and 10 on the ground with the counter tackle was made at the 28 after a pick up of three and that's what you're trying to do as a defense limit those damages when they run the football get them on the ground short gains to set your defense for positive situations down the road theyve made third down offenseive key it'll be tested on Third and long from the [Applause] 28th it's a draw and they did not let him reach the line to gain it'll bring up a decision here [Applause] the Scarlet Knights will try to pin them back with the punt they'll have to punt for the first time this afternoon he'll try to feel the Putt and bring it back he couldn't find much Running Room there didn't get a lot of blocking and he'll step out of bounds Maryland has the ball back in the Terin offense ready to go that's what you expect from a senior don't give them any extra yards great tackle there that's a really good job by the defense wrapping them up getting them on the ground take away that run gate make them one dimensional put him in passing situations really good job by the defense after picking up a couple it's second and eight going to run it it's heni only a short gain on that run defense played it well it's the emmo of this offense and they really put a lot on on the offensive line to go out and really try and establish their dominance and their assertiveness and they've done a good job of that early in this game running the football coming to the line of scrimmage on third down to the air it's Edwards he'll off one deep down the left side and they can't hook up on the big play and that brings up a fourth down third and short like that on your own side of the field you're just looking for a quick hitter you're trying to get the ball out of your hand quickly but the timing completely off there for the offense and the ball Falls incomplete and the Terin will line up to PL it away he's going to try to flip the field with this one a fairly short distance here toward the sidelines not his best work ruter has it back they'll send the offense back onto the field that last Drive fizzled out Jesse they had to punt it yeah they did and dve they're just going to have to do a better job this time around erasing the mental mistakes and just trying to solve the defensive riddle understanding what they're trying to do to you and attack them that's the beauty of misdirection in the Run game right you try to show the defense one look and then you come back and hit him the other way when they're not expecting it they'll put it in play from the 41 on first down he's looking to throw it unloads to the wide out got his man he puts him in business across the 50 into the 46 yd line it'll be first down and there was no question in that scenario that's where the quarterback was going he knew he had his receiver in a matchup that he liked running a route where he would find himself opening nice job between those two from the gun leaves it on the inside with the back and a good solid pick up for the defense Cuts him down I know it's sexy to throw the football but if you can pound it away and get these kind of gains they will just add up wear the defense down get first downs and ultimately get some points six- yd pickup on first down leaves him with second and four maybe some confusion on the snap count it's going to be a false start false start the officials offer the deal and the coach accepts it they will take the penalty they'll try the Run showed off just about every move in the book except the forward move stopped for a short gain and a lot of times you want those big plays you want those Splash plays but sometimes you're going to take some losses you're not going to run the football overly well but if you continue to run you can at least create some balance you at least have the threat of it otherwise you're just going to abandon it and now it's just going to be a passing game fires on the Move finds a man in the middle working their way closer and closer a third down conversion and they've got it at the 26 and they just want to give this guy a chance to make a play on third down and more times than not he is going to deliver he's so good so efficient such a good route Runner got the speed got the complete game so you definitely want to highlight him and especially on those Downs that matter the most if something's not open Quick underneath find him he'll make those contested catches he's run out of bounds but a big play on that one and it'll be a first down first down you know you always want to establish the running game how about this offense nothing fancy run the football be physical get a big game we reached the two-minute warning and we have ourselves a ball game and they have a chance to take the lead here before the half and the Scarlet Knights will have it first and 10 he's going to pass fires to the end zone and he's got it touchdown ruer man it's not an accident they're featuring this guy his second receiving touchdown of the game that's your job as a coach find my Playmakers get them the ball so they can do damage and have games like this right here [Music] [Applause] winding up to add another hit that one with some aggression for the point after that is an efficient drive seven plays 75 yds and the score comes on a 12yd touchdown pass after that latest answer tied things up just about set to kick it away again here he comes from inside his own five he was hoping for something a little more Dynamic but they get him on the ground at the 20 here comes the Maryland offense back onto the field looking for a man it's Edwards throws to the wide out makes the grab finally run out of bounds but he has this offense rolling with a first down and I love the awareness by the wide receiver on that play because I'm not sure that route was supposed to be that deep you got to wonder if the receiver decided maybe to adjust the route a little bit to make sure that he got the first down looking to go up top on first down catch in the middle it's en this defense is going to have to be careful not only do they have to worry about this guy running the football but they've got to keep their eye on him when he runs routes too he is a versatile back they'll try to kick it into overdrive clock's running second down coming he's looking to throw how about that play to get a hand in there and force the incompletion Zone coverage that time in the cornerback a nice job with his eyes he's watching the quarterback he sees the ball thrown so he knows exactly when to break on it he's able to break it up for an incompletion they've got some work to do on this third and long from the 40 from the gun wants to pass fires to the right and they weren't able to make the connection they were looking for an explosive play every defense in the country talks about getting offenses in predictable third and long situations where I can bring on more speedsters and I know the pass is coming so I can have more success the Terin will call on their punt team this will be the second time they've had to kick it away not going to risk a return here he'll make the fair Catch and the rers offense heads back onto the field this could be a real turning point in the game they scored a touchdown they got a stop and now a chance to break the top yeah this offense has got it cooking man and how about the defense great job getting that stop getting the football right back to the hot hand now this offense Palmer has a chance to take the lead you could see the offense too they understand the situation right now they were jonesing on the sidelines to get another opportunity to run back on the field they are ready to drive this ball and go [Applause] score and it slips through his fingers incomplete that would have been a huge game if he could have held on and the offense clearly saying we want to take those deep shots we want to be aggressive and and I think that's a good strategy because makes the defense really honor what you're going to do and just missed a little bit but I wouldn't be surprised if this offense finds a way to come back to some of those defense and that's going to be incomplete a lot of contact on the play but no Flags it'll be third down I'm not positive but that first down marker might be in the next County they'll try it on the ground running the counter picks up just a few before he's brought down not really willing to take a risk there on Third and long the defense going to stop the clock with the timeout they want to make sure they have everybody on the same page the Scarlet Knights will punt this one away this will be the second time they've had to kick it [Applause] away he'll field the punt and the returner will be brought down line gets set first [Applause] [Music] down they're going to throw it to start the drive fires to the big fella the offense calls timeout it's the second one they've used this half it must be nice for this quarterback knowing he's got this type of athlete playing the tight end position that can work the middle of the the field form he's a guy who can stretch it vertically as well but this is a guy the QB will look for early and often in this game the offense quickly calls timeout to stop the clock I like the running back there on the route the patience he showed really setting it up got to the defender was able to put his foot in the ground get some separation catch it and turn up field for the first he's got his man he was working his way toward that goal line they'll stop him at the two after the big play top you can just see the command this guy has of the offense he's been picking this defense apart metrica the ball down the field he's now got him in the Red Zone close to the goal line I wouldn't be surprised if they just keep letting him throw it and the Terin in the hurry up back to pass it's Edwards and it's caught touchdown Maryland one of the areas they really focused on with this receiver in the off season was we need you to make more plays for us in the end zone when we're taking shots we need to be able to step up and make tough catches David what a grab right there and I think a lot of that has to do with trusting your guy knowing where he's going to be knowing when he's going to sit down when he's not so being on the same page and then having a guy that can go get it just when the ball is near him he's going to make the play just like he did right there for six points they'll try to add another to their lead exra [Applause] point and with the extra point the score is now 21 to4 quick work on that scoring drive just four plays and it was finished off with a 2 yard touchdown TOS the kickoff unit about to go to work number set Kick looking for an alley from inside his own 10 he was hoping for something a little more Dynamic but they get him on the ground at the 20 it's first down but the offense is just going to take a knee and go to the locker room that's going to wrap up the first half here and now we join Kevin with the halftime update phas what an environment there today all the animosity and Flatout hatred that comes with a good oldfashioned rivalry game on display in that first half and I get it a lot of coaches will say the difference between winning and losing comes down to stopping big plays and getting big plays if you ask me it's more about how good you are on third down and how efficient you are in keeping drives a lot those two stats can help you break the will of even the best defenses and help you come out on top with that let's throw it back to the guys to see how this rivalry matchup plays out [Music] the Terin will kick it off to start the second half on the move from inside is five he was hoping for something a little more Dynamic but they get him on the ground at the 20 ruers has it back they'll send the offense back onto the field tight game as we start the third quarter and we'll see what type of adjustments they made at halftime and getting the ball first here I think is such a big deal like I get the first chance to make a statement to make the adjustments to create some momentum for my squad right here in the third quarter yeah I think it's so important for this offense to set the tone here early in the second half to get a nice drive going build that confidence and and get your defense ready to come on out get a stop and change the complexity of this game quick pass on the jet motion still on his feet at the 40 and he'll have enough for the first down at the 42 in these touch passes it's so hard because there's always action off of it right if I fake this pass and I can run it up the gut or I can throw it and I just spread me out and make me defend so many things and you can tell they got on the edge quickly got the big first down they'll snap this one from the 42 it's first and 10 touch pass on the Jet Sweep he is going nowhere stop at the line of scrimmage really good job by the defense seeing it going and getting nice job understanding the touch pass it could happen those guys go in motion man I got to understand saf's got to see that start flying down getting ready to play that nice job by the defense being ready for that play second down coming up using his legs it's Monaga and the defense holds firm no pickup at all on that play that's a great individual play and I love cornerbacks that don't just take pride in covering guys I like guys that like to put their face the fan and affect the running game this dude is physical and he impacts the defense because of it and those guys are really hard to find a lot of Corners they're smaller they don't want any part of the physical run game nice job sticking his face in there setting the edge making the tackle really nice job by the defense here in the second half they've got to have the mentality with the lead if we just don't give up any more points we get the double we got to make big plays on third down they made a big one there and the Scarlet Knights will punt it away on fourth [Applause] down just needs a crack to get a return couldn't get away from that cover team and they've got him down at the [Music] 23 leaves it with the back BS his way forward and he's knocked down but there's also laundry on the field we'll see what the officials have called just an obvious holding call there and one that just kills an offenses momentum scanning the field it's Edwards they bring him down but a solid pick up to put them in position to pick up a first down nice job by the quarterback and receiver working the curl route receiver got his dep and he fought back to the football helping make that completion a whole lot easier trying to get a rhythm in the passing game now on second down he's looking to throw and that's just a flat misfire not even close to his receiver that's a good decision by the quarterback I know that's not going to come up on the stat sheet but you're in the pocket nobody's open Don't risk turning it over just throw it away they couldn't connect on second down now staring at a third n from the gun wants to pass throwing right complete downfield he's run out of bounds but not before turning in a big pick up and moving the sticks for a first down well I think on that play you saw why this guy's such a big weapon in this offense that receiver he does such a nice job with his routes he's patient and he's consistent and he's got good hands you don't see him put a lot of balls on the ground nice job there picking up the first end wants to throw on first down fires to the middle or did he find a hole in that secondary and he was Off to the Races finally tripped up at the 36 love the location of the throw on that slant pass put it out in front of the receiver put it on his face mask so he can catch it and try to advance and the Terin will hustle to the line [Applause] he'll keep it himself no where to run on that when he loses four on the carry anytime you play this offense the challenge is stopping this quarterback from running the ball and you've already seen in this game he's been able to break off a few runs and do some nice things that time though the defense had his number and tackled him for a loss put themselves in a bit of a bind with that last one is second and 14 caught over the middle it's Howard they make the stop but not before he takes a chunk out of what they need to move the sticks it's so important that this offense is able to stay on schedule and what that means is keeping third Downs manageable that last completion to the tight end accomplished just that really nice play call and here comes play number six of the drive on third down he drops to throw he'll pull it down Nifty will Scamper on this one enough for the first down and he slides in Safeway nice scramble unbelievable job after dropping back to pass and understanding the situation and a nice heads up play slide live to fight another down don't try to make a bigger play and run through somebody big and get yourself hurt to the air it's Edwards a shot toward the end zone and incomplete on the Deep ball great job by the DB covering deep listen you always say deep to shallow deep to shallow don't give up the big play great job by the DBS seeing the football going and breaking on it and make sure the wide receiver doesn't make a big play after missing the connection last time it's second and 10 from the 22 they'll throw again after the incompletion r on target This Time Tackle is made after the first down you got to give the o line a lot of credit there because it g give the receiver time to work all the way across the field on the drag route against Zone coverage quarterback gets it to him he's able to turn it up and get a first down the Terence will snap it on First and 10 from the gun they'll give it on the inside keeps those legs churning for three yards he's down at the nine going to work in the Red Zone they can pick up the first down without getting it into the end zone motion from the offense On The Run it's heni they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one man what a spectacular play by that defensive end to come up with the tackle there and you see those guys get off the football so fast most of these guys are 250 to 275 lbs but they get off the ball fast low and the offensive linemen they have no chance to stop those guys as quick and as fast as they are on Third and long try to convert through the air and he can't find his Man In The End Zone as he was trying to pay off this Red Zone chance nice job by the defense they're mixing up their look they're third and long in field goal range they go Zone coverage so everybody on the back end has the eye on the quarterback and they're able to break on the ball Force the incompletion now on fourth down they'll settle for a field goal try between the uprights it's good and now the weaves extended a little f [Applause] [Music] [Music] so the kickoff team is out there ready to boot it away after putting up a field goal let's see what the defense can do he'll start the return inside his five and good work by the coverage team to knock down the Return Man and the ruers offense heads back onto the field they are trailing by 10 here Jesse but this is the type of team that seems comfortable in an offensive shootout you got to old serve at this point right you got to drive the field put some more points up on the board yeah they just scored you can answer that now and keep this thing close D and I think you're used to that as offense like football is so fast-paced now and you score so quickly it's not that big of a deal to get down 10 you keep being you keep being aggressive as they get set to snap it time winding down here in the quarter hand off to the lone back slams ahead for a yard y out from the [Applause] 33 no question they wanted to get the ball to their Playmakers and both receivers have come up big through three one more period to go to see who can make the winning plays and come home with the victory that last run leaves him with a third down will they keep it on the ground is tight end a quick tackle made but he's got plenty for the first down well trailing like they are right now in the fourth quarter their execution offensively is just going to have to be at a premium you can't afford a lot of incompletions at this point everybody is going to need to be on the same page moving forward it's first and 10 from the 38 yd line the run from the shotgun they can rely on this guy to pick up solid yardage when they need it and he's out to the 43 I know the passing game sells and the passing game is exciting but it's not exciting to get five or six yards a pop on the ground but it will be very successful halfway there on first down it's second and five he's looking to throw fires to the wide out he's got it he is tackled but it'll be a fresh set of downs and no messing around right now if you're on offense this is the time where execution has got to be at of Premium you need to hit completions David they need some big plays and you just want to keep pressuring them and keep making them use the clock give them the underneath stuff and again when they drive the football down the field I just can't give up touchdowns field goal at this point is not going to hurt by defense CAU in the back field it's Monaga fighting off the defender running backs just have to be a weapon in the passing game even for little dump offs and check Downs yeah find your matchups I mean think about running back versus a linebacker we like that matchup in space and so find ways to get the football to your running back in space where you can break tackles and make things happen CU they're just so [Applause] Dynamic they're looking for an advantage in the running game to the right they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one and the D does it again like I feel like it's a repeat we could play that over and over today they've had a great game against the pass against the Run limiting the big plays and they do it again just watch them where they're supposed to be they're physical they don't give up a lot of tackles you know a lot of yards after the tackle just a great performance by this D well the good news is is you got the first down running it there on second and short but the bad news is you're down by quite a bit here in the fourth quarter and two three four yd gains aren't going to get it done you've got to start chucking this thing vertically to get back in the game Run the gun he leaves it with the back Powers forward but stopped after a pick up of two to the 24 man a nice second effort by the back to break a tackle but how about those defensive backs willing to come up stick their face in the fan and make a tackle those are the best run defenses too right it's not just D lineman and linebackers getting all the plays but it's DBS that are willing to not just cover but tackle backs in the open field from the gun running back gets to give they wrestle him down after he picks up sixs inside the 20 and down at the 18 I I like it just frustrate the defense get that five to six yards make him honor the Run make him know that you're willing to run the football and run it effectively do they have another third down conversion in the bag already two for two on this drive it's third and two the playaction fake they're trying to get to it he took a hit as he threw it couldn't deliver the football it's incomplete and fourth Down's coming and finally the defense is able to get some pressure on this quarterback theyve been trying all game long different ways to affect him weren't able to get there but on that play because of the pressure it affected his accuracy that's why the ball Falls incomplete it's [Applause] good that makes the score 24 17 they'll kick it away after putting up a few field goal on that last drive and he takes this from inside the five and the return man showing great vision to be able to find some space and put his team in much better field position they go to the ground he picks up maybe a couple before he stopped right at the 30 yd line at this point of the game the offense has the lead the offensive coordinator know know they want to keep running the football so he's going back he's looking at his playlist and he's saying which runs work the best for me in this game what can I lean on right here to make sure we win this one picked up two yards on that last one they need eight on second down out of the shotgun they go to the ground he's dropped behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a loss of three yeah it's a nice job by this defense obviously backed up against it time running out got to get the football back two good plays now third down I stay aggressive have to come after him if they decide to throw the football so be it but stay aggressive get that football back for your offense they're bringing heat they're setting up the screen Powers through the defender defense was not fooled by that screen to the back and they'll stop him short of the marker it'll be fourth down and that's what defense is all about understanding the situation it's third and long I'm going to drop back I'm going to make him throw that ball underneath to the running back and then do my job go Corral tackle him and force the fourth down fourth down and the punt team sends it the other way fair catch called for and made around the 20 yd line ruter has it back they'll send the offense back onto the field guys that last trip a little disappointing having to take the three yeah I think Jesse you see so many offenses talk about getting yards and the tempo and all the stuff they do was a nice job moving the football but they got to get in the end zone this time yeah and I think to do that they just got to be more physical at the point of attack get some push up front they need to be the best running team in this game to win they created a lot of breathing room with that first play of the drive now first down from the 39 looking to move it through the air just a short pass to the tight end how about this backer in pass coverage and bringing the big hit stick with him too a nice job by the defense there tackling the catch and smothering the tight end they know this offense is going to try to find him in the passing game in a lot of different situations that time perfect coverage and nice job bringing the big guy down not easy to do and here comes the offense on second [Applause] down he's looking to throw didn't have much of a choice there but to get rid of it man this late in the game it's go time I got to have a score I'm not worried about downs I'm going through my two-minute script we know what's coming we practiced this all week it's second down incomplete pass go to third down we need to go for it on fourth down this offense just has to keep that high energy up and try to run these plays fast trying to move the sticks on third down through the air and this is dropped incomplete pass he had a huge gain in his fingers and he couldn't hold on and it's now or never it's do or die for this offense fourth down late in the game trailing they absolutely have to connect and move the chains right here this thing's over trailing by a touchdown this fourth down opportunity is [Applause] gargantuous can't find his man it'll be incomplete and that is a heartbreaker this late in the [Applause] game they'll keep it on the ground to keep this clock moving and a good solid pick up there before the defense knocks him down timeout called there by the defense desperate to get the ball back and save as much time as possible now on second down and we'll probably see another run and that might do it if they can get a first down looking for room it's heni and he was able to shed a tackle and pick up the first down before they finally get him on the ground quick timeout called by the defense stopping the clock to save as much time as possible for their offense now on first down from the 28 hand off from the [Applause] gun he rolls all the way down the 5 yd line before they finally get him stopped defense uses a timeout quickly trying to get that ball back and preserve time for their offense the clock and the scoreboard on their side as they come to the line first and goal happy with the situation the quarterback will take a knee [Music]
