that first pitch to be in and over with so that he can settle in pitching just like he did in the minor leagues exciting moment he's got his family in town I think This Moment's going to be a huge tone Setter for his career and that's down a base hit just kind of sliced that one in to Center Lawrence Butler with his first major league hit and this is a moment I'm sure he'll never forget congrats yeah great moment for him and his family a guy works so hard and has to wait so long for this to happen and when it does can kind of be overwhelming boo you still have to stay locked in on the game but it's great when you could take a minute to just appreciate what you've done and how hard you worked to get here digging in for Oakland Brent Rooker trying to pick up his first knock in the big leagues pitch misses there one and0 counts one [Applause] and0 kick s and that's a little bit High [Applause] Butler on at first nobody out and a base hit throw back in quickly first and second now with nobody out Brent Rooker with his first major league hit and this is a moment I'm sure he'll never forget congrats yeah great moment for him and his family a guy works so hard and has to wait so long for this to happen and when it does can kind of be overwhelming Mo you still have to stay locked in on the game but it's great when you could take a minute to just appreciate what you've done and how hard youve worked to get here so here's Brown at the plate looking for his first big league hit right here 1 in the dirt safe he beats it throw is low and he can't pick it and now a single might score two well boo it's already been a tough start to this inning as it is and that wild pitch is going to make things even tougher two men in the scoring position now still with nobody out so this really becomes a strikeout situation on the mound and here he comes highfly ball out of the left side center field no trouble here puts it away for the out and there's one [Applause] away and time now to check out the A's lineup one guy leading the way offensively for this club right now Seth Brown and boo we're talking about a guy who has great wheels and then puts them to good use he's the team leader in stolen bases and run score man using his speed to just get in the scoring position and then just flying home when the GU behind him put the ball in play I absolutely love watching him do it because he causes havoc on the base passs and now the Lefty comes up empty that's strike two you go fast by a guy like that I imagine it's got to feel incredible look for him to throw it again at some point and that's a little bit high now one and two this is a situation where the hitter is looking for something up in the zone that he can get his arms extended what you have to be careful of is that pitch that's up that's in on your hands that'll pop you up in the infield and that's exactly what the pitcher wants two on one out and another ball they try to get him to go chase the pitch down and away but he wouldn't bite Tristan Gray next to bat for the AES 32 can't connect on the thir ball struck him out and that's the first strike out of his major league career and it could be the first of many if he meets the goals he set for himself and the expectations others have for him he doesn't want to just win games he wants to dominate at this level do you think Young pitchers could sometimes get too caught up and try to rack up P early in their career Bo I think they can it's kind of like a hitter that doesn't have power The Thrill is still hitting the ball over the fence and so for a guy even if he doesn't have power stuff or strikeout stuff a strike out is still something that makes him stick his chest out a little bit [Applause] further two on two outs and a foul ball left side the pitch that's outside and the count one and two swing and a miss and that is that sometimes he wears the emotion on the sleeve but that's okay as long as he get results and right there thrilled with the punch out to get out of a jam back here at minut M Park and today's starting pitcher Osvaldo beo safe to say he's pretty stingy Chris well he's been a real quality starter for his CLA and coming into this one what stands out for me is that right-handed hitters have really struggled batting below 200 on the year it seems they have a time picking up his release point and tracking the ball into the zone so we'll see how right handers do against him in this one bottom of the first here's the veteran second baseman Jose Altuve the wi to the pitch just three and [Applause] two this one popped up moving under this one huls it in for the out now we check out the Astros lineup and the key to victory for them here get their starter some run support early if they can get him that run support early it's likely the other team folds because they know how dominant he can be once he gets settled in so put pressure on that other team right away jump out to a lead early and a few runs is going to feel like 30 now it's yordon Alvarez beo he isn't really known as a starting pitcher that's going to get you deep into the start it's not that he's not capable he just hasn't proven that he can do it yet up the middle it's through for a hit so a man aboard now with one away yordon Alvarez with his first major league hit and this is the moment I'm sure he'll never forget congrats yeah great moment for him and his family a guy works so hard and has to wait so long for this to happen and when it does can kind of be overwhelming boo you still have take sit in for the out that swing right there tells me he's seeing the ball pretty well I know it didn't produce a hit but he made Solid contact and that's all you're looking to do anytime you're at the plate now it's Alex bregman but for the most part with that kind of stuff you expect him to get to the middle of the ball [Applause] game just missed what does she need to do in order to get deeper into the game well I'd say it's command of the secondary pitches because cuz when you're talking about turning over the order a second and third time and guys are getting looks you've got to be able to put a wrinkle on something change speeds and locate it enough so that they offer at it right through there for a strike ultimately you want them to swing and Chase a pitch that teases The Zone and ends outside the Zone but so far he hasn't been able to do that consistently Alvarez off of first with two away [Applause] and another ball next pitch is outside great RBI spot here just got to they're chasing a lot of pitches outside the zone and those chases are are turning into a bunch of outs can they turn that around and stay within the Zone we'll see but I think they have to the2 highfly ball lifted in the air right field makes the grab on the run and there's one away now the third and now it's Alex Breakman one for one with a single so far the Astros trailing by two we're here in the bottom of the fourth in the air right field Rooker under it huls it in and there's two away up and stepping in for the Astros Jeremy Peña 0 for one he grounded out in his first at B now every atat Miss is inside and that's ball two well he's so great about hitting the ball the other way he gets those arms extended so right there just trying to straighten him up a little bit so he hitter Seth Brown swing and a ball hit out towards left center field long run nice grab and they're two down every day during batting practice these outfielders get about 10 minutes of balls in the absolutely ripped that ball out front and almost got it out of here man just a really strong balanced swing and a fraction of an in different on the bat and it is probably out of here now it's the second baseman Jose Altuve swung on B in rarts Off the Wall should be extra bases in comes the run from second and this game is tied in the seven well there you go the RBI machine another clutch run scoring it back yeah he's been so good in these situations call it clutch if you want but his resume speaks for itself new pitcher now Joey Estus on for his major league debut so we'll see if he's ready for the big stage he just has to remember this is the same game that he's played all the way through the minor leagues to this point the only difference there just more people in the stands and it's a bigger Stadium but the game itself is still the same look at the catcher whatever fingers he puts down that's what you throw and just let him Lead You In This one hit hard should be extra strike down well that right there is what you want to see out of your come in and close the door cancel any hope that that opponent has in making some type of comeback in the ball game tell you what that helps him settle in and that helps everybody else relax a little bit to get these other two outs Rooker in the box now take strike one some hitters are just more confident they can track that
