EA College Football Simulations Game 10 Virginia Tech @Vanderbilt (8/31/24 Prediction)

[Music] welcome to Nashville Tennessee Music City USA and home to the commodor of Vanderbilt who hope today they will hit all of the right notes we've got a sensational matchup for you fans have been filing in and getting ready for this game as we'll see a squad from the AC the Virginia Tech Hokies taking on a team from the SEC the vanderville commodor for EA Sports college football I'm ree Davis joined here in the booth by David Pollock and Jesse Palmer and guys let's get this thing [Music] started and the hokes will get us underway with the opening kickoff on the run from inside his own five couldn't find a way to create that broken field as he stopped at the 25 the commodor offense takes the field for the first time today and here comes this quarterback this entire offense is built around him he is the engine of the entire team I mean he's the leader he's the alpha everybody looks towards him he's been doing it all year long everybody believes in this young man big opportunity big stage find Zach PRI and he's got four out to the 29 that's a really nice play it's impressive but it's first down and the defense thinks you might be running the football you still can line up you can get some movement at the point of attack and find a little crease for your running back solid pick up of four on first down it's second and six moving the running back forcing the defense to adjust unloads to the wide out wide open downfield hit the afterburners kid and they are pushing the ball down the field a big pick up on that one and the tackle is finally made well after that last play you can see how electrifying this guy is and how special he is after he makes the catch if I'm on offense I'm trying to find a lot of ways to get him touches in this game the commodor come to the line in the hurry up they're in the red zone and they'll pass it fires left oh what a grab by the defense bringing it back the interception stoed to threat and the return even better as he crosses Midfield and gets it to the 49 and how about that play by the defense here early in this game opening drive facing one of the best quarterbacks in all of college football and they're able to get an interception that is going to be massive for their confidence in this game the offense lining up for a first down play from the gun he leaves it with the back and he does a really nice job finding open space and making a good gain before the stop is made you want to talk about making it easy for an offensive coordinator you pick up a bunch of yards on first down make that second down really really manageable that's a great job by the offense eight- yd pickup on first down leaves them with second and short he'll pull it on the re can't get him to the ground and it is a chunk play a huge gain on that one before the defense brings it to an end there's an example of the offense taking advantage of all the attention the defense is giving this outstanding running back remember he's one of the best in the game they're expecting him to get the football so the quarterback says you know what I'll just keep it no one's keying on me I'm going to get up field and find an explosive play looking for a gap it's toon headed to the end zone he is run out of bounds after the big gain and they are in business first and goal first down physicality wins football games being able to run the football and create balance and and right here just chews up another first down gives you another chance to maybe continue to run the football and I feel like this guy too is just an explosive play waiting to happen his vision his quickness and he he's got a burst if you give this guy just a crease he's going to hit it and right now he's doing some damage on this defense he'll try to dial up a better one this time on second and goal from the five he'll ride his man on the option he's got it down to the one yd line right on the doorstep of [Music] perer as they come to the line they've moved it but they need one more yard on third down try to barge their way in and this one will be stopped for No Gain yeah they're just trying to pound the football into the end zone there on third down they don't get it now it sets up fourth and one what do you do here and on fourth down they'll try to salvage the drive with a field goal he won't have any problem with the distance but the angle could be a different story from the left and it's no good kicker couldn't quite get it through and the scoreboard Remains the Same well that's one the kicker would like to have back that's a kick he should be making [Music] vanderbel has it back in heading out to go on the attack that last possession a prime example Jesse of how things get condensed in the Red Zone hard to throw when the windows are smaller and that's what happens down near the goal line David this quarterback here just take accountability and ownership and come out here lead your offense and move on like we needed points that's something that we can harp on we'll watch the tape this week but now it's time to move on let's get another drive going with a first down they'll snap it from the 32 to the air it's Pavia coming after him they get enough rush and it pays off the sack at the 20 sometimes you beat your guy and you get sacked so clean and sometimes like on this play the DBS do a great job covering make the QB hold the football and then the rush gets home so now they're staring at a second and long from their 20 leaves it with the back that's what you expect from a senior don't give them any extra yards great tackle there I'll tell you this is a running back who's very very dangerous and the defense did a good job getting him down there but they got to do a great job gang tackling because this is a guy that can break tackles and turn those types of plays into home runs on Third and long doesn't need to take the check down excellent coverage and good use of the hands to knock it away man this quarterback is living dangerously right now obviously he threw a pick on the last Drive he's trying to complete that throw but the defender gets a hand on it tips it up in the air that's oh no that is an oh no situation they're lucky that one hit the ground and the commodor will call on their punt team first time we've seen their punt team this afternoon he's got great speed and the coverage team able to wrestle him down and we're about to get another look at this hookie offense you want to talk about taking the wind out of your sails Drive the ball down the field and missed the field goal David you know what don't leave it up to Kickers execute better offensively I think you move the ball nice you got to keep that in mind but Palmer I think you got to stay aggressive and don't settle for field goals yeah because you got to know there's just no margin for error right now you just have got to be able to execute at a higher level got eight on first down now looking at a second and two they'll run it out of the shotgun great move there ripping off a good chunk inside the 25 and they're set up with a first down fundamental football with the hokes we talk about special teams but the running game has always been part of their DNA and when you continue to find guys at the running back spot like David Wilson and those guys that you can feature you can give them the ball establish that physicality establish that playmaking it gets everything rolling for this offense up brings up second after the productive first down play it's second and six out of the gun the give to the back and he's tripped up but not before picking up the first down I love when players understand situations and they understand where the first down mark is and they understand where I got to get to a lot of people you'll see run north south and try to bounce out wide and make big plays sometimes it's not about making big plays sometimes it's about getting that first down to make sure I get an extra set of downs instead of trying to make those big touchdown runs unleashes to The End Zone it falls incomplete he was trying to find his man for six operating in the Red Zone here on second down on the ground it's Thomas got enough space and he rolls into the house touchdown Virginia TCH and the running back was not going to be denied on that play he had a hole he saw it he put his foot in the ground and that was ped [Music] lining up to tack one more onto that lead and he's got the extra point and it's 7 nothing to start this one so that scoring Drive took only six plays and the Capper came on the run to the end zone from the 13 about to kick it away after scoring the touchdown he'll bring it out from inside his own 10 he was looking for some Running Room but not much to be found as he stopped at the 18 Vanderbilt has the ball again and here comes that Commodore offense they'll run the RPO and fire to the right he is going nowhere stop at the line of scrimmage yeah nice job by the defense that's what you're supposed to do as soon as they catch the football you want to limit that yards after the catch and he went nowhere after the catch nice job by the D now on second down going to the running game out across the 20 to the 21 yd line a three yd gain yeah the running back didn't get much here but you know you clearly want to always establish the tempo run the football be consistent make that defense physically meet the challenge third down conversions are a huge stat and this one would be a doozy if they can pull it off they're trying to slow that Rush down with the draw and there were some collisions in there and the D finally stopped him short of the marker ath the commodor will send out the punt unit this will be the second time they've had to kick it away he'll bring it back it's Holloway he was hoping for a little more Running Room but they're able to get him down at the 45 and Virginia Tech sends the offense onto the field boy David they would love to stack back another touch fires into traffic it's picked off going the other way and he's got room and he has taking it all the way back touchdown Kors this time it's the defense finding ways to put points on the board there is nothing better than being a Defender seeing that ball in the end zone your eyes get big as saucers go jump on that puppy secure it get you a touchdown he'll try to tack on one more smashes it through for the pat after that latest answerer tied things up just about set to kick it away again from inside his own 10 he'll try to help out their field position he was looking for more Running Room but none to be found as he stopped at the 23 hold it finds his man on the left and they pick up just a few on that completion this is a very tough slot receiver to cover if you're a linebacker because of how quick and how Shifty he is you never seem to know which way he's going and he always seems to create an open space for his QB tried to pound it on first down now back to the line from the shotgun they'll run it gets it across the 30 to the 31a pick up of five and you know when we talk about great third down defenses it really starts with them getting stops on first and second you've got to get those stops early in the drives to set up third and long so that's a missed opportunity on that second down by the defense now on third down after that run looking to throw for it quickly out to the tight end and the defense makes the immediate tackle but he has enough for the first down man he had to get rid of that thing I don't even think he had time to find the laces but he picks up the first down yeah that's a great great job you know third and short the defense is bringing pressure he sees the pressure gets the football out and gets just enough for the first down they'll ride the running back and leave it with him and maybe he'll get back to the line of scrimmage but no more than that it's an offense that takes pride in being physical they try to get it going on the ground but no gain on that one just Nowhere to Run not a lot of wiggle room for the ball carrier this defense came in knowing that they had to match their physic let's see if they can keep it up got stuffed on first down it's second and 10 to the air it's Thrones he makes the connection they make the stop right there good pickup it's still short of the first down and I love when my quarterback SE Zone and knows exactly where to go with the football sees the wide receiver running the drag route knows when to throw it pulls the trigger for the easy completion they've got it at the 41 third and short trying to keep the chains moving off the RPO fire right trying to convert they'll get the first down it's spotted on the 49 wow and what a great job by that quarterback finding his open receiver on third down you know guys one of the most telling stats at the end of the game is third down conversion percentage if you're a great third down team it's invaluable to your offensive success and that's why teams drill third Downs so much in practice and he'll pick up one it brings up second and nine you know runs like this often times are like a boxer in a boxing match obviously it's not a knockout punch but these are body blows and as the game goes on these small gains are going to turn into longer runs didn't get much on first down it's second and nine off play action fires to the right right on the money to the outside he dragged the toe and how about the ball placement only the receiver could get it if the hokes can keep this up in the passing game that'll make him touch that hokey stone with a little more enthusiasm yeah it'll get him jacked up it'll get excited a lot of times with Virginia Tech man we've seen it it's the defense it's the Special Teams but when they can get that QB throwing the ball down the field and create some balance it's when they have their best teams leaves it with the running back and they'll finally get him down after a terrific pickup first down you know you always want to establish the running game how about this offense nothing fancy run the football be physical get a big game the hokes have it with a first and 10 he'll do it himself he's dropped behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a loss of three well they were trying to set up the option but the quarterback had no chance did you see the defensive tackle penetrate what a great first step he shot right through the offensive line and got the tfl got some work to do after that last play second and 13 running back searching for a hole and the defense holds firm no pickup at all on that play man not much wiggle room for the ball carrier there not really sure what they can do to try to to create some space I know block back how about the offensive lineman push the guy backwards and make some holes they've methodically worked it down the field this the 11th play of the drive but the defense can get off the field now makes the grab over the middle and he's not going to make it the defense denying him the first down you got to love that on defense what of the most critical statistics out there is how do you play on third down how do you prevent the opponent from keeping drives alive right there tackling the catch you gave up the completion whoopy Doo you set up fourth and long you're going to get the ball back go get some water in celebrate smashes it between the uprights and with that field goal they now have the lead after putting up a three- spot the kickoff unit set to go from inside his own 10 let's see what he gets he was looking for more Running Room but but none to be found as he stopped at the 23 vanderville has it back and heading out to go on the attack last time David it was one two three kick the last drive that three and out sometimes that puts your defense in a bad spot and you got to get a drive together here so you don't wear the defense out I just think David too predictable that last Drive they got to do something here to get this defense on their heels they'll line up for a second down play the running back has it maybe picked up a couple he's down at the 24 well man there's some big hitting going on in the trenches right now this defense they take a lot of pride in stopping the Run let's keep our eye on them throughout the course of the game and see if they can contain this running attack if they can convert here that type of play can really give you a shot of momentum back to throw it's Pavia out of the back field he's open able to work it to the 39 yd line and that'll be a first down obviously third Downs are so critical CU you you get you get an extra chance to wear that defense out great job by the offense great job by the quarterback completing the pass getting the first down moving the sticks fresh set of down continue to wear on this defense as they get set to snap it just about to reach the end of the quarter and with that stop we are headed toward the the end of the first quarter we've reached the end of the quarter and Virginia Tech is on top and we've come to the end of the first as we take a moment to check out the stats so [Music] far now to see if these guys can get back in the game in the second quarter stuck with a running game on first down now here they come again now the play fake he's going to let one fly down the middle and it slips through his fingers incomplete that would have been a huge game if he could have held on well on defense they know that this offense is going to try and take shots they're going to try and keep their secondary players in a position to make these types of plays good job on the back end forcing that incompletion he's looking to throw didn't have much of a choice just had to throw that one away it'll be fourth down well they tried to catch the defense napping they're third and short on their own side of the 50 and everyone's thinking run they go past but the defense wasn't foed so the QBs just got to throw that one away and the commodor decide to punt it away he's going to try to flip the field with this one he'll bring it back it's Holloway he'll put that return to a stop at the 33 but the offense set up in pretty good field position and now the offense will come onto the field again out of the gun they'll run it inside they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one well there's a statement by the defensive line first down play expecting run and they just dominated up front beat their one on ones and force a tackle for a loss didn't get much done on that first play of the drive it's second and 11 to the air it's drones receiver looks it in it's complete they make the stop not a whole lot of ground picked up there and they'll have work to do to get the first down Hey listen as a receiver you're running that hitch round against man coverage you can't loaf on it right I know it's just a little short throw but you've got to make the defender think you might be going deep so a nice job not just taking it easy on the play he put his foot in the ground he drove back to the ball and made it easy on his quarterback trying to make magic with his feet and sure tackling there to keep him from getting to the first down marker defensively the more speed you have on the field the better not just to cover wide receivers but when the QB does this and scrambles outside of the pocket now you got guys that have really good speed going to catch a quarterback an athletic quarterback at that really nice job by the defense fourth down and the punt team sends it the other way and he'll work his way on the return out to the 35 yd line before he stopped vanderbeld has the ball again and here comes that commodore offense they'll crank up this drive with the pass it's complete and the catch was one thing and the Run even better a big pick up on that one that is an excellent throw by the quarterback finding the window between the zones and delivering that ball on time the offense setting up shop at the 46 first and 10 on the run it's Alexander we'll give him a couple on that one second and eight coming up and sticking to the run I tell you what a lot of teams that are really good are really stubborn and they continue to run the football even with little success so this offense is going to continue to focus on running the football you can tell after picking up a couple it's second and eight he's looking to throw going to try to get it himself and he gets it just beyond the line of scrimmage before he gets down well great job there by the defense because they weren't able to get him sacked right away but you saw the coverage in the back end nowhere for the quarterback to throw the football didn't get the sack obviously you don't get the negative play but you also don't give up a big one you're feeling pretty good about where you are right now in this drive now on third down for this offense looking to throw it's Pavia Pockets starts to collapse the quarterback bought as much time as he could but the defense got to to him and sacked him the defense was in the dime package they didn't have to send an extra rusher the Big Fellas up front took care of that yeah and all dime means is I'm bringing an extra fast guy on the field and taking an extra fat guy off the field but listen the fat guys still get home is that beautiful the big athletic defensive line still does a great job getting to the quarterback getting him on the ground the commodor will putt this one away he's getting a lot of work fourth time he's punted tonight [Music] they'll put that return to a stop at the 33 but the offense set up in pretty good field position looking for a productive play on first down used the play fake now to throw unloads to the right got his man and he's brought down after a nice game when you're a QB and you have enough time to take out a sandwich and finish the sandwich before you have to make a pass down the field that's a good day at the offense that's quite a start to a drive and now they'll snap it from Midfield looking for space it's toon he showed it all there a little elusiveness a little power and he's got the first down and I don't care if I get it by two by 20 by 30 by 40 I I just I just want to get the first down understanding the situation understanding where the sticks are doesn't have to be sexy but I got to make sure I get to that stick get to the first down Mark they'll put it in play from the 40 on First and 10 they're going to ride this running back makes a man miss and he's able to bounce off one tackle for a solid pickup yeah this coaching staff they're getting this offensive line lathered up and into a rhythm now they're letting him drive off the ball on first down on these running plays and they're getting chunks of yardage nyd pickup on first down and now they can take a shot on second and short looking downfield it's drones and the defense gets home and makes a play at the 37 yd line the defense just simply not fooled by the play action often times an offense you're hoping the Run fake is going to slow down those pass rushers but man oh man they had their ears pinned back [Music] they line up and it is a long way to the sticks from here on Third and long trying to have a big completion here caught close to the marker it's Jennings and this junior loves to show off that Big R we asked earlier this week who's your favorite receiver and of course he said the open one but we know who he really wants to go to on third down the best one I mean team I think the open one obviously the politically correct answer but you want to find the guy that you got that great chemistry with you know exactly where he's going to be you got that Bond and that trust able to pick up a couple down to the 27 all right well the offense here they're trying to get this run game established they obviously don't break off a long run there but they're just trying to find their footing at this point picked up two yards on that last one they need eight on second down they'll Run play action dances away from the heat he'll pull it down and run able to get just a few before sliding to avoid the hits he does a good job of droing back going through his progressions nothing there what I do go get some yardage make it positive don't sit back in the pocket and force something into a bad situation or take a sack great job making something out enough ball is at the 20 they'll try to convert this third and short they'll try to pick it up on the ground brought to the ground but not before getting it up for the first down and this offense has got it all work right it's just been tough this this defense is on Heels can't figure it out a bunch of plays in a row now a bunch of success this offense is doing what they want to do how they want to do it defense is going to need to do something different to try to mix up this Rhythm might as well give it to him again not much Running Room he's got one down to the 12 12 y second down going to work on second down in the red zone is still some ground to cover to pick up that first down from the shotgun now here's an inside gift and they'll finally make the tackle at the three yd line and a nice job by the running back finding space getting downhill making a good run great job finishing with his PS tight quarters deep in the Red Zone but they can't pick up a first down without scoring third down looking for a man it's drones using his feet to buy time and the defense makes a play sacking him back at the 10 and you watch the right defensive end getting there so fast rush the passer get to the quarterback get him on the ground I love the replays of these things when you can really hone in on that one guy on the one side and you just watch him go to work they'll play it safe and try for free the official says no good guys have missed opportunity there the lead is still three and that's just the Chip Shot that's just a field goal they got to make guys Vanderbilt has it back and heading out to go on the attack their Drive chart is starting to look a little monotonous punt punt punt David and their defense is starting to get a little frustrated too they just keep putting me back on the field possession after possession Jesse this offense needs to get their heads out of there you know what the punter is on the sideline with the oxygen mask right now he's been playing so much he's not used to this this offense they just got to stay on the field they've got to put a drive together and get some balance going running and throwing the ball he's looking for a man on second down and that's going to fall to the ground incomplete that was a physical matchup there third down coming you know it's difficult for QB sometimes when you're throwing to your running backs because they're not receivers you really got to be perfect with the ball placement you got to make that a catchable throw a little bit too tough for the RB on that one back to throw it's Pavia got away from trouble and got rid of it Zing's it complete to the right and they'll do more than move the chains they'll move that thing more than 30 yd down the field before he's finally stopped and the quarterback knew exactly where he won to go the football had time spins the ball deep nice job by this offense understanding what the defense is giving them and creating the explosive play and the commodor will have it first and 10 and it was worth the gamble but the long pass is incomplete that time he took a big shot off of the RPO and when you run these run pass options you want to take take a little bit of time to stick in that running back's belly read the defense get him to suck up and I'm trying to make those big plays down the field so I like the aggressive attack off the RPO the give to the single back and how about that interior defense stuffing the run for nothing how about the defender being a heat seeking missile he was on radar lock he found the football and flew down with some bad intentions when you've already set your punter out four times at least he knows he's going to get his varsity letter and his leg might get a bigger workout if they don't convert got his man on the right and he's not going to get there the defense Stands Tall and makes the stop he just didn't have a chance to get loose and make his way to that first down marker and I think fans get upset sometimes like run your route past the sticks so we get the first down but nice job by the defense understanding where the sticks were and forcing the fourth down yet another punt on the way got to make sure that hamstring stays loose he's been busy and we're about to get another look at this hookie offense we talk about settling for points but sometimes when you have to settle for nothing David it can be demoralizing yeah and it can definitely be frustrating and I think it leads you to say maybe I go for it more but Jesse I think this offense just needs to put another drive together and just finish Stronger Yeah and and be a little bit less predictable too especially as they get closer and closer down to the end zone and the hokes want to move quickly right back to the well pretty good effort on that one to work his way up to the 42 and with that last carry ended triple digits over 100 yds for the day and he's showing you power he's showing you speed he's showing you make you miss he really is showing you he's a complete back and by the way it's still the first half that kind of pick up on first down and you can take a shot here on second and short looking for a physical attack from the gun he goes down at the 47 after a 5yd pickup part of the Hoke's DNA to rely on that ground game sort of like a Kevin Jones type guy no doubt and I think it's always what's made these offenses go like the running game the versatility of the running game but you got to have that Bell cow that you can hand it off to to establish it the give to the back and I think they'll give him two on that one second and eight coming up and those physical runs take a toll it might not be a big game now but down the road third fourth quarter late in the ball games they tend to turn into bigger runs after picking up a couple it's second and eight touch pass on the Jet Sweep nice move there a solid pick up there before the defense is able to make the Stop and these little touch passes man they're just the easiest completions ever for quarterbacks Palmer I bet you would have loved being able to just Flip It Forward that counts us to your completion percentage which is good and then it's all run after the catch so pretty easy for a QB you wouldn't have been the only allamerican in this boo da if I were allowed to have Push passes when I was playing quarterback I tell you that it is so hard to defend it's so hard to seal that edge especially when this guy's Full Speed Ahead coming around the and sometimes for the defense it just takes one play right to create some momentum obviously this guy's been eating him up he's got over 100 yards rushing on the day but finally David they get something positive here in the Run game defensively but you kind of know that coming in he's going to get his such a great back and he's C A it's blocked the pressure got hold they make the Stop and the big special teams play will give them the ball at the 42 first down here with time for maybe one more play until the two-minute warning free- snap motion quarterback trying to get a reed grabbed in the back field it's Alexander and the defense settled in to stop that one for a short gain the clock has reached the two-minute Mark and they have a chance to at least cut into this lead before the break second down coming up scanning the field it's Pavia and it'll be incomplete this defense is physical and pass deep the big tight end tries to make a catch and you could tell extends for the ball but great job by the defender getting in there making the hit dislodging the football out as the same time as he's going to catch it in the big tight anle couldn't hold on to it now facing a third and long from the gun wants to pass getting some heat and he just throws it away that is not what you're looking for on third down fourth down coming up nice job by the defense they're mixing up their look they're third and long in field goal range they go Zone coverage so everybody on the back end has the eye on the quarterback and they're able to break on the ball Force the incompletion the commodor will punt it away on fourth down and that is textbook instructional video out of bounds right around the goal line they go to the ground and a good solid pick up there before the defense knocks him down coaches always harp about staying ahead of the chains and when you can run with that type of efficiency on first down man you are doing just that good spot after that seven yd pickup on first down it's second and three he's looking to throw now he's going to Glide away from pressure finds a crease at the 20 Nifty little Scamper on this one enough for the first down and he slides in safely the offense will have to use it first time out of the half it's first and 10 from the 31 he's going to pass throws to the tight end just masterful working that s line and getting the toe down for the catch and this has got to be so demoralizing for this defense right now having given up multiple first downs on this drive somebody on defense has to step up make a play and stop the B the hokes will snap it on First and 10 looking to throw it's drones H his tight end and a good job of coverage by that defense just a short pick up I like this tight end he does a really nice job on his route running he's been beating man coverage he can find the soft spots and zones you got to get him involved got some of the work done on first now let's see what they have on second down he's looking to throw he's got his man across the middle and oh he was Off to the Races after the catch and they finally drag him down they'll immediately call timeout this defense has got to be better in coverage you want to get off the field you got to keep defending you got to do something to make the offense feel uncomfortable so far way too easy for this offense and that incomplete pass caused by the big hit on first down second down coming sixth play of the drive coming up looking to pass on second down caught over the middle it's toon and just a short safe pass play they pick up a few they'll use it timeout right before halftime maybe time for one or two more plays and it's third down but they're going to go ahead and try the field goal and try to get points before the [Music] break and the kicker delivers the three ball to finish off the drive that late in a half field goal always gives a little boost going to the locker room and they'll need to finish off these final few seconds and not allow them to answer from inside his own 15 looking for room and returner will be dragged down that's going to wrap up the first half here and now we join Kevin with the half time update guys a stirring start to things today in Nashville as we say hello from our broadcast Studios and it's been a clinic in fundamental defensive football both teams have been Relentless and ball Hawking refusing to give an inch this is the kind of slug fested real football fans love crushing tackles and dudes flying into gaps and passing Lanes a testament to the discipline both of these teams have shown and with that let's send it back to the guys at First Bank Stadium [Music] we are ready to get it started here in the second half looking for an alley from inside his own 10 he was hoping for something a little more Dynamic but they get him on the ground at the 20 and Virginia Tech sends the offense onto the field they start this third quarter with the lead but they might want to think about Shoring up that protection yeah the good news is you're you're leading on the scoreboard the bad news is your quarterback doesn't feel like itz you can't protect him so David adjustments and pass protection that has to be something they were talking about here at halftime 100% just you can't get him hit that much he's still doing a good job delivering the football but if you keep hitting the quarterback enough man they'll start to see ghost they'll panic and they'll make some of those mistakes it'll be a draw not much there picks up a couple to the 22 this offensive line better figure out a plan for this D tackle he is tough to block with one guy he might want to start double teaming he's going to be a problem moving forward you saw all of his ability on that last one a third and long coming up here dropping back it's drones the quick out he's run out of bounds but he's got enough to move the sticks love the way he didn't just run to a spot he found the cushion in the zone and got himself open for the first down yeah and you're taught to find that space they don't run right into a Zone Defender who's sitting there looking at the quarterback and looking at you so much creativity with routes now of being able to just have subtle moves One Way come back the other way nice job by the tight end finding that hole in the zone fires to the wide out a strike downfield that defense got gassed but they finally get him to the turf at the 47 well it's a nice looking throw right there and I'll tell you what for hokey quarterbacks in the past it's not all about just hurting you with their legs Michael Vic could kill you throwing the football Tyrod Taylor could do it how about this name Jim drunken man you could just see him right now dotting an 18yd dig route that's a nice looking throw that gives me some drunken Miller Vibes po they think they can create space here with the run to the right the 4 y first up second didn't get much on first down it's second and nine he's looking to throw snagged in the middle it's Lane they make the stop after the catch and still some work to do to pick up that first down you know the defense doesn't have an answer for this slot guy right now may may want to think about bracketing him how having a Defender play to the outside and to the inside probably some sort of Zone coverage where you're trying to get two bodies forcing the quarterback to have to go somewhere else with the ball he'll keep it himself they are on the move as they pick up the first down they'll spot it at the 28 oo I like that option play I'd keep running that too because it's obvious the defense right now is really keying in on this running back that was a big point of emphasis for them all week long in practice and it's opening up holes now for the quarterback to run and the hokes have it with a first and 10 Ed the play fake now to throw got a in it's Lane they're able to keep him out of the end zone he'll be stopped at the two after the big play in the passing game well how about the offense setting that play up we've seen earlier in the game a couple shorter throws they're just trying to suck those safeties closer to the line of scrimmage anticipating that they would get an opportunity to take a shot they called the perfect play at the perfect time right there they'll keep it on the ground for first and goal and he takes it to the house touchdown hogies bringing the extra beef it's goal line I know what I'm going to get I know what I'm going to do we're going to be bigger stronger at the point of attack in push you around and then the running back does the rest and finds the end [Music] zone how about this a two-point conversion coming power ahead and he's dragged down looks as if we have an injury on that last play and we'll take a break to check him out lining up to cover the kick after that touchdown Drive here's the return from inside is 10 nice job executing all of the assignments as they put put a stop to that return at the 22 vanderbelt has the ball again and here comes that Commodore offense off the play fake on first down moving away from pressure and he has a solid gain on the play before sliding yeah I think you're just seeing the experience this guy has right he's so poised and initially he's flushed out of the pocket nothing's open and he doesn't panic he's not throwing it away he's not sliding early he just knows where the defense isn't and he's able to attack that space with his speed get a positive play to throw it's Pavia it's complete to the left and the defense able to drag him down but not before they'll recycle that down marker I just love quarterbacks that aren't greedy and that aren't always trying to throw the Home Run ball right second down you're in your own end of the field the guy you want to throw to is not open just find the back he'll go do something positive with it this guy is a weapon and you got to find him in the passing game they'll give it to the back one step W twep squeeze this junior knows how to get him on the ground and a lot of times you want those big plays you want those Splash plays but sometimes you're going to take some losses you're not going to run the football overly well but if you continue to run it you can at least create some balance you at least have the threat of it otherwise you're just going to abandon it and now it's just going to be a passing game on second down looking again to throw that's reeled in it's Jones and that defense is there to guide him out of bounds after a short game you see this more and more in college football motion the running back out of the back field what am I looking for I'm looking to see if it's man covers does a linebacker go and chase him if he does guess what I get to do take advantage of my matchup I like my speed better than yours keeps it on the boot leg looking to throw they're bringing heat quarterback moving at the 45 on it way they finally make the stop it he shows why he is dangerous on the run too and he's got a first down and the commodor in the hurry up touch pass on the run the defense wouldn't let him loose and even though it's in completion they lost yardage really good job by the defense seeing it and going and getting it nice job understanding the touch pass it could happen those guys go in motion man I got to understand safety's got to see that start flying down getting ready to play that nice job by the defense being ready for that play looking for a man it's Pavia and he really needed to hold on to that one but it was not loose and third down is [Music] coming and this offense just can't afford not to get the first down here already trailing big and the clock is not their friend on Third and long a check down would be the last resort he took a hit as he threw it and couldn't deliver the football it's incomplete and fourth Down's coming all right you've dug yourself a little bit of a hole offensively you know you're going to have to throw it here in the second half you're going to have to make sure though you do a better job up front with your pass Pro you got to keep your quarterback standing up right the commodor send out the punt unit no return coming he'll call for the fair Catch and we're about to get another look at this hokey offense Jesse a very productive Drive last time wound up with a touchdown yeah mixing and matching play calling really well nice balance on that last one dve we see what they can do here in this next Drive yeah and I don't expect anything different when you put together a drive like that I would do more of the same keep the pace keep it going this offense has a second down play using his legs it's Toton just a pickup of a couple out to the 15 yd [Music] [Music] line here on third down will they go back to the running game from the gun wants to pass he lobs one high down the left side it's complete a huge pickup and the catch and run into the end zone touchdown Virginia Tech how about that quarterback taking the shot downfield and delivering to the wide open receiver I love this quarterback re cuz he's aggressive he wants to take shots he's looking for every opportunity to show off that cannon in that arm Talent he showed it to all of us right [Music] there he'll try to add another to their lead and the extra point will tack another one onto this lead quick strike offense on that three-play scoring drive and boy did they finish with a huge play in the passing game scoring from 85 yds out about to kick it off after punching it in for the touchdown from inside the 10 yd line he'll bring it back and the return man showing great vision to be able to find some space and put his team in much better field [Music] position give to the running back cross the 30 to the 35 and that's a gain of six I know it's sexy to throw the football but if you can pound it away and get these kind of gains they will just add up wear the defense down get first downs and ultimately get some points six-yard pickup on first down leaves him with second and four going to run it it's Alexander nice solid form tackle from this sophomore will they keep it on the ground again here on third down they'll try to bully their way for the first and the commodor are stopped but not before getting it past the sticks and I just love when guys know exactly where the sticks are you could tell ran with purpose finished through the sticks and got just enough for the first down and a nice job up front too right good communication everybody knew where they had to go hat on a hat work the double teams and get some push dropping back it's Pavia he got a hand in there knocked it away incomplete love the competitive nature by the defender on that play that's just a 50/50 ball and that Defender swatted it [Music] away after misfiring it's second down the give nice move there not a whole lot of room to run let's give him a couple [Music] third guys this offense is already reeling down multiple possessions really need to cash in on this drive trying to move the sticks on third down through the air took a shot as he threw and they can't make the play on third down well after struggling so much in the first half you thought they would have made some adjustments here at halftime to see if they can open up this passing game but early on in the second half you're just not really able to get that done incompletion on third down and your own end you're expecting them to punt the commodor line up to punt it away on the move it's Holloway they'll put that return to a stop at the 33 but the offense set up in pretty good field position they'll start this drive at the 33 yd line off play action on first down got it in the middle it's Lane and they don't drag him down until he gets all the way to the 46 yd line really nice looking pass there I'll tell you they ask you to do a lot at Virginia Tech when you're the quarterback you're expected to make plays with your feet because of some of the greats that have come before you but you've also got to be able to hurt defenses throwing it as well the entire Playbook is open and at your disposal and this guy right now he's showing you with his arm Talent you can carve up this defense and it's just simple simple first down run showing your physicality setting your offense up in a good spot after the three- yd pickup they come to the line Second and seven back to pass it's drones quick strike complete and a good job in coverage there as they stop it after just a few well the defense playing Zone coverage there and they're taking away away all of the QB's primary options down the field so he has to check it down to the drag running underneath it's third down in the line to gain is the 36 from the gun wants to pass on target to the left he will step out of bounds but not before the big pick up and a first down for this offense and they just want to give this guy a chance to make a play on thir third down and more times than not he is going to deliver he's so good so efficient such a good route Runner got the speed got the complete game so you definitely want to highlight him and especially on those Downs that matter the most if something's not open Quick underneath find him he'll make those contested againsts you know it's so important for offens is to want to keep third Downs manageable the way you do that is by having success like that running the football on first down got three on first down it's second and seven on the ground it's Toton got some room headed to the goal line he rumbles all the way down to the 2yd line he gave a little bit of everything on that one and that's the benefit to the Run game keep pounding keep pounding now you break one all the way down to the two yard and don't stop it get down get lined up quick and give it to this dude again to go score a TD the hokes will try to put one on the board on first and goal touchdown hoky and The Stomping has commenced and the running back gets his second rushing touchdown of the game you want to continue to feed this guy you could tell he's got a nose for the enzone knows how to get in there knows how to make things happen lining up to tack one more onto that lead the kick is up and good and put one more on the lead a 67 yd touchdown drive there and finish to deal with the short touchdown run from the two the kickoff team out there getting set he'll start the return inside his five nice job executing all of the assignments as they put a stop to that return at the 22 vanderbild has it back and heading out to go on the attack pressure coming makes the grab it's Alexander he's brought down solid pick up but a little bit short of the first down do the running backs are not just running backs anymore you're going to be a wide receiver in today's football and a great job sneaking out of the back field getting the football letting them get some positive yards let's see what they've got on second down they'll try the right side and they make the tackle but he has plenty for the first down this offense has to get this guy the ball in as many ways as possible he showed you all of his tools on that last play they'll snap it from the 36 they've got a first down to the ground he's got it again really nice stop there from this senior leader didn't get much on first down it's second and nine on the run it's Alexander creating good effort on that one to work his way up to the 42 I think he run that play on second down knowing it's going to make third down easier you're not trying to hit a home run you don't need the big play right now now you know third down everything's on the table everything's available High success rank ball is at the 42 yd line close to four down territory here's third and short using his legs keeping his eyes down field he gets the job done picking up the first down then getting down so frustrating as a defense because you got the offense in third down you're in a situation now where you can get off the field if somebody just makes a play but you let the quarterback escape and then beyond all that you you can't even get a good hit on him because he slides to protect himself can't hang on and he'll tell you he really should have made that catch and he had an opportunity right in the middle it'll be second down and there's so much for a quarterback to think about stick it out in the belly do I pull it now when I pull it oh I got to get my feet set make an accurate throw to the right guy so a lot of things going on and I think that you saw that led to a little bit of inaccuracy to the air it's Pavia and this sophomore able to wreak some havoc and get a sack well we've seen this offense struggle early in this game protecting the quarterback they went in at halftime thought they' made the right adjustments but it's not looking like it right now they're still having issues keeping this guy standing up straight up front they're just getting beat across the board seventh play of the drive coming up but a long way to go on third down looking downfield and he needs a bunch and the incomplete pass will bring up fourth down that's why it's so important for this defense to win first and second down you set up third and Longs like that you can show your exotic looks you can get the pass rush going everybody in the back end expecting throw and that's how you force incompletions and Force fourth downs and the commodor will try to pin them back with the punt he'll try to really get into this one you couldn't dial it up much better than that as he knocks it out of bounds inside the 10yd line movement here from the tight end off the play fake on first down to throw can't hang on is incomplete I think he was bracing for the hit and didn't hang on to the football obviously when you're playing in weather like this the ball is very slippery and it's hard to catch the QB threw a bullet that time and his receiver just could not reel it in after the misfire it's second down he's looking to throw catch in the middle it's Lane they make the stop right there good pickup and still short in the first [Music] down and you want to talk about his favorite receiver it might be everybody based on the number of guys getting getting touches and a chance to show off their hands in the passing [Music] game one more period to go and we'll see just how much fight they've got left in them third and short they've got them backed up inside the 20 and the D can get the ball back here and boy is he close to that first down maybe just a couple of inches short and that's a nice stop by this defense nice job stopping the Run setting up fourth and inches listen this is a no brainer if I can't get inches I don't deserve to win I I'm coming downhill I'm playing physical I'm picking my play whether it's quarterback sneak fullback dive whatever it is that we do great and I'm going to get my inches fourth down and the punt team sends it the other way Fair catches call for you want to make sure that you field it cleanly in rainy weather like this trying to find his man on first down and it's incomplete if you're going to take a hit like that you might as well hang on to the ball well a lot of things haven't gone right for him you saw an incompletion right there it's been offense it's been defense they just haven't been able to click and get into a rhythm here and now they're playing catchup and you know they're going to be throwing at each and every play here in the fourth quarter here comes the offense on second down after the incompletion back to the passing game he's got it he's run out of bounds but not before turning in a big pick up and moving the sticks for a first down the offense has struggled they're not going to win this game but trust me this coaching staff is still trying to find things to build off of for next week and after an explosive play like that maybe they can generate just a little bit of momentum and gain a little bit of confidence that they can keep coaching up heading into their next game [Music] didn't get much on first down it's second and [Music] nine they'll move the running back to try to force the defense to adjust fires toward the end zone and he's got it touchdown vanderbelt and a really nice job understanding I got to get to that Gap where there's a little bit of open space in the middle of the field when I run that post route QB lays it out for him and he catches it gets two feet in bounds in the end zone [Music] touchdown getting set for the point after point hit that one with some aggression for the point after quick work on that scoring drive just four plays and they cap things off with a scoring toss from 27 yds out lining up to cover the kick after that touchdown drive from inside the 10 here he comes didn't find any crease in that kickoff coverage and he'll be stopped at the 17 and Virginia attch sends the offense onto the field the last time we saw this offense we had to look quick it was a three and out Jesse he just had no rhythm in that last drive so someone's going to have to step up and make a play David and get this thing going yeah let's find some juice find your guy find those plays that you know you can run inside out forward backwards get some first downs get some positive momentum solid pick up of four on first down it's second and six from the gun the G looking for room he's stuffed after picking up one to the 23 how bold will they be on third down after that last run they'll try the left side tough hard noosed running he got three but he needed four it's forth down and one and the hokes will line up to punt it away and don't forget he did have one blocked earlier might have thought he'd want to try to pick up a few yards there but he's content with making the fair catch right around the 35 yd line wasting no time throwing on this drive got him downfield there to make the tackle but the big throw is good enough to give them a first down here's the deal you're down three possessions you know it doesn't feel likely they're going to come back and win but we've seen crazier stuff happen in college football it all starts with a big completion on a two-minute Drive they'll get the momentum started in your direction the commodor want to pick up the tempo they'll rip off eight on that play it's second and two if I'm building an offense in today's football it's not around a quarterback that can't run I'm going to find an athlete that I can give the ball because defensively it starts to limit your coverages it starts to limit what I can do it makes me play the quarterback every single play just make sure job as a defensive coordinate extremely hard grab near the marker it's Alexander makes the grab and it's enough for the first down before he's dragged to the ground well it's a nice play design there you're getting the running back involved in the past game quarterback gives it to him early so he can go to work up field and get the first down and the commodor with the first and 10 from the gun they'll try the middle we'll give him a couple on that one second and eight coming up that's a really good job by the defense wrapping them up getting them on the ground take away that run game make them onedimensional put him in passing situations really good job by the defense picked up two yards on that last one they need eight on second down back to pass it's Pavia right down the middle it's incomplete and he's lucky to get that one back almost intercepted this defense has just been all over this guy all game long Under Pressure they're finding a way to get to him in affect his rhythm of course they have an interception in this game that's why they've got a big lead here in the fourth quarter this guy has never gotten into a rhythm they're close enough for a makeable field goal from the 26 but they'd love to convert this third in Long [Applause] and the incomplete pass will bring up fourth down at this point of the game in the fourth quarter it is going to be tough for this offense to get some completions here because now trailing by this much the defense is expecting pass and they're putting a whole bunch of extra DBS on the field to help them out in coverage and if the kicker can put one through this will be a successful drive this one will be a 43 yd field goal attempt from the left patch right down the boulevard it's good so they were able to put up a three spot on that last drive and now the kickoff team out there as they prepare to put boot to leather he'll bring it out from inside his own 10 he was looking for some Running Room but not much to be found as he stopped at the 18 and we're about to get another look at this hokey offense trying to get to him catch in the middle it's Toton they make the stop but this passing game does some damage and they move the sticks with the first down I'll be honest man if I had the weapons these guys had offensively I'd be St staying aggressive too it's what got them to this point it's why they have the lead here in the fourth quarter take some shots when those opportunities present themselves that's a way to give yourself some breathing room now the second play of the drive from the 36 they pick up half of it it'll be second and five it's a point in the game I think as a coaching staff where you really challenge your offensive line to go win the football game right we've got a lead late we're going to run the football and the defense and everybody in the stadium knows that what's going to happen can we run the ball down their throats and impose our will that's what this offense right now is trying to do that's what you expect from a senior don't give them any extra yards great tackle [Music] [Music] there this defense will try to force a fourth down on Third and short from the 45 they'll try to power their way ahead and he needed just a single yard and he did not get it what a stout play by this defense great job a contained by this defense and in order to do that the end man on the line of scrimmage defensively has got to be able to set the point and force the football back into traffic that's exactly what happened what a terrible terrible shame and he will boom that punt out of bounds no chance for a return let's see where the official spot the officials offer the deal and the coach accepts it they will take the penalty going to run it it's toon Jes his way for more he's brought down but not before they pick up the big first down I think you have to like what you see if you're the coaching staff your offense is on the field and it looks like you got a pretty good drive going and you're just going to try and keep this thing marching keep the clock ticking you've got a really nice lead here late just want to find ways to keep the chains moving they're doing that hand off from the Gun Man Down on the play as the officials take a break to let him be checked out after the productive first down play it's second and six quarterback on the keeper and he's brought down after a nice game well this is one of the fastest quarterbacks in college football and that's why the option's a good idea because if he can get out in space and he has a chance to get down field he is really difficult to tackle and he's very difficult to catch as you saw in that last play getting a first down the hokes come to the line with a new set of downs quick release by the QB touchdown Virginia T and the puming has started nice job on the route and catch by the tight end scoring that touchdown and it doesn't matter what play this offense calls all game long everything has been working this has been a master class in offensive productivity [Music] they'll try to add another to their lead and with the extra point they pushed the lead out a little further a 67 yd touchdown drive there and they finish it with an 11 yd touchdown Dart the kickoff team out there set to boot it away on the move from inside is five he was hoping for something a little more Dynamic but they get him on the ground at the 20 Vanderbilt has the ball again and here comes that Commodore offense going to take a shot he's got it down the right side hit the gas kid wide open thee touchdown doors and once he found daylight it was Katie Bar the Door baby the man is that perfect timing you could tell a quarterback drops back he sees his guy and he knows he's open but watch the throw deep down the field Palmer right in the breed basket nice play nice pitch and catch he did a nice job of getting it up in the air early and allowing his guy to run under the football locate it and then make a tough grab that is the definition of an explosive Play No backs with the quarterback as they line up for the two dropping back it's Pavia he's got it so they convert the two and keep just a flicker of Hope Alive down two possessions almost ready to kick it away after scoring the touchdown from inside his own 10 he'll try to help out their field position really disciplined job by the coverage unit to get that down there and make the stop at the 19 he'll pull it on the read good vision and determination there to find his way up to the 23 nice job there by the QB on the Zone read because he's watching the D lineman and he knows he has to keep the football and then he right away takes it up field to get some positive yards they'll go to work on second down after doing damage on the ground off the play fake all kinds of room to throw that one in there and another big game for this offense they are putting explosive pass after explosive pass up in this one he's been so locked in it seems like any pass called is a guaranteed chunk play yeah and and winning late like this in the ball game keep trusting and keep spinning you know why because stats matter late in the game you want some postseason Awards keep chucking it keep getting those stats out of the gun the inside give a strong tackle and wrap up from the Junior at this point of the game the offense has the lead the offensive coordinator knows they want to keep running the football so he's going back he's looking at his playlist and he's saying which runs work the best for me in this game what can I lean on right here to make sure we win this one after picking up a couple at second and eight he's looking to throw he's got an open man and he'll ramble to the 34 before he's finally knocked down you know what's interesting at this point of the game with the lead in the fourth quarter the defense is expecting them to run the ball and because they're putting so many guys close to the line of scrimmage they're taking advantage throwing it two straight completions now backto back and the hokes will hustle to the line got his man downfield and he almost ran away from everybody on that one a huge pick up on that play he just keeps piling up numbers with completion after completion in this standout performance I think some people might say late in the game you got the win everything's in hand be a little bit conservative or you just say I'm just going to keep doing me and what I do with this offense is throw the football all the yard and I'm going to try to win me a big trophy at the end of the year they make the stop but there is a flag on the field we'll see what that's all about offside defense offense will take that fre five yards every time bad discipline by the defense out of the gun the inside handoff looking for a crease and he is just engulfed at the line by this giant defensive tackle well they want to come out and try to get the Run game established but UPF front defensively they made made a play they gave up nothing on that one got to find some breathing room if you're going to establish yourself on the ground and there wasn't any that time yeah ree I wonder now if this offense is maybe going to try to get to the perimeter of the field and see if they can use their speed to hurt this defense knocked down after a gain of one they'll mark it at the six they'd love to pick up this third down and get a fresh set with first and goal looking downfield it's drones he's got it touchdown Hokies and the route is on and how about it everyone getting involved getting the big tight end involved this offense has done an unbelievable job scoring points this defense has had no answers just keep it rolling offense now they'll line up for what they hope is automatic and the extra point will tack another one onto this lead 76 yds on the drive for the touchdown and they get it into the end zone with a 6yd touchdown pass kickoff team is on the field they'll try to drive this one deep from inside his own 10 let's see what he gets just never had a chance to shake loose and he'll be brought down at the 24 vanderville has it back and heading out to go on the attack they'll throw it on first down quickly complete he gets those chains moving gets it out to the 42 yd line this quarterback has been really good today he been on top of it seeing things really really well that pass right there put him over the 300 yd Mark that's a pretty good day the commodor are in the hurry up he's looking to throw it fires to the right it's caught got a lot of running room and he'll take it in and house it touchdown Bandy like a Thanksgiving turkey they're just being hard no shot they have no idea how to get this quarterback's head he's on fire everything he's doing is working defensively we got to figure something out we got to try to do something a little bit different bring more pressure at this right shoot he's on so much fired you might as well just send everybody blz everybody live with the results cuz everything else ain't working [Music] anyways and now they'll empty the back field for the two-point try looking to pass it's Pavia and he dropped it just didn't look the thing all the way in and these decisions to go for two you see more and more of it throughout a game chasing points and then in the end you wonder if this just comes back to bite you that's why they call them the hands team they're able to secure the onside kick and Virginia Tech sends the offense onto the field this offense has really been clicking in the game so far Jesse no doubt everything their play caller is dialing up these guys offensively have been able to go out and ex yeah and it's just maintaining the lead keep doing what you've been doing you got a big lead let's just keep piling it on until they find an answer they'll probably bleed every second possible off this clock before they snap it they'll keep it on the ground to keep this clock moving they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one it's going to be tough sledding for the offense here they're trying to ice this game by running the football and leading the clock they've got a pretty good lead here late in the game but the defense knows the run's coming right so they're going to be loading the line of scrimmage getting stops like what they just did interesting to see what the offense does on this next one this is a big third down and they can move the chains they can just about salt this game away on the Run it's Toton and he's not going to make it the defense denying him the first down quick timeout called by the defense stopping the clock to save as much time as possible for their offense and here comes the field goal unit and if they can make this and turn it into a three-score game they'll have this one all but locked up splits the upright it's good and that lead grows even bigger well that kid just showed off his hammer for a leg 50 plus and he did it with ease they're really starting to extend that lead as they get ready to kick it away again looking for an alley from inside his own 10 he was hoping for something a little more Dynamic but they get him on the ground at the 20 Vanderbilt has the ball again and here comes that Commodore offense got his man in the middle and good coverage by the defense just a short game well here's the problem offensively because you're trailing by so much so late in the game the defense now is is going to be playing big Zone coverages and they're going to allow you to throw the ball underneath in the middle of the field rally to make a tackle and bleed the clock it's going to be hard now for this offense to claw their way back in this one back to throw it's Pavia feeling some heat really nice stop there from this senior leader it's just so nice to have a QB under Center nowadays in football you can trust these guys you put so much on their plate and you tell them go get positive yards when it's there and a lot of these guys are such great athletes they do it with ease trying to get everybody set with the clock still running on third down going up top they're trying to get to it they get enough rush and it pays off the sack at the 20 and they didn't have to Blitz they brought in the dime package more speed on the field so we can cover in the back end and then let the dline do what great dline do and the commodor moving quickly to the line on fourth down looking for the completion unleashes one got it past to marker he's right out of bounds but a big play on that one and it'll be a first down well this offense has a ton of work left ahead of him here in this two-minute situation late the game but the drive off to a good start you get the first down you get out of bounds you working the perimeter of the field that is exactly what you want to do going up top on first down coming after him and he can't escape and down he goes the offense uses a timeout 15 seconds left to play first down sack pushes it back now it's second down quarterback wants to throw on second down that one will be incomplete and we are down to 10 seconds to go another hit on the quarterback all day long this defense has been able to pin their ears back and get after this guy and because of that he's never gotten into a rhythm throwing the football and that's why they find themselves trailing here late in the fourth quarter I'm not positive but that first down marker might be in the next County it's complete on the right side on third down will smoke by the receiver step out of bound at the 49 now a four the commodor will bring the punt team onto the [Music] field and the punt will go into the end zone and the ball comes out to the 20 on the Touchback [Music] [Music]
