welcome to Statesboro Georgia and what many refer to as the prettiest little stadium in America and home to the Georgia Southern Eagles but trust me it can get a little ugly if you come in here and you're not an eagle we've got a sensational match up for you fans have been filing in and getting ready for this game as we'll see a squad from the Mountain West the boy Broncos taking on a team from the Sun Belt the Georgia Southern Eagles for EA Sports college football Reese Davis with you alongside David poock and Jessie Palmer and guys can't wait to get this one started Georgia Souther will kick it off to get things started on the run from inside his own five really disciplined job by the coverage un to get down there and make the stop at the 19 the Broncos offense takes the field and here comes the big fella a staple of this aerial attack Jesse and he's a guy they can line up all over the field David there's matchups out there waiting to be taken advantage of yeah and it's so nice to be able to do that it makes it easy to play quarterback when you can feature a guy like this that's fast big and strong and that will go backwards a negative play in that defense on high alert that time well there was really nowhere to go for the quarterback with that football he's just trying to check it down to his running back and the defense was there and they made the play what can they pull out of the Playbook here on second and long from the 17 dropping back it's Nelson can't make the catch and it'll be third down he had that thing and just lost his concentration hopefully that's not going to affect the quarterback's confidence going back to this guy later that was a catchy good have made he dropped it let's see what the QB does moving forward this defense has kept them backed up now one more stop and they can get off the field on Third and long from the gun wants to pass makes to grab on the left side he's loose touchdown Broncos and once he found daylight it was Katy Bar the Door baby and man is that perfect timing you could tell drops back he sees his guy and he knows he's open but watch the throw deep down the field Palmer right in the Bread Basket nice play nice pitch and catch he did a nice job of getting it up in the air early and allowing his guy to run under the football locate it and then make a tough grab that is the definition of an explosive play they'll try to add another to their lead and the extra point is good and it's seven nothing quick strike offense on that three playay scoring drive and they finish it off with a centilating big play 83 yard on the touchdown pass kickoff team lining up to send this one away here he comes from inside his own five he was looking for some Running Room but not much to be found as he stopped at the 18 so Georgia Southern's offense has the ball for the first time and what a great matchup we have of two highly productive Runners David and I like the competition aspect of this reach like I'm watching what you're doing on the other side and I'm going to prove I'm a better running back than you both these guys are looking to be the man today and both guys can go distance right these two running backs seem to get better as the game goes on so which defense can be more physical step up and at least slow the other guy down Georgia Southern in a hurry from the shotgun the hand off to the back gets the nose of the ball to the 25 give him one yeah the running back didn't get much here but you know you clearly want to always establish the tempo run the football be consistent make that defense physically meet the challenge so they're facing third and short from the 25 they'll stick to the ground looking for the marker really nice job to get it past the sticks pick up the first down at 30 I know this is an offensive line that has a ton of Pride they want to come out each and every game and really impose their will on the dline they got just enough push there on that run play to pick up the first the Eagles will line it up on First and 10 power football with the Run stopped after a pick up of four good run to get it out to the 34 after the productive first down play it's second and six now they're going to throw it he lobs one high down the left side and this is dropped incomplete pass he had a huge gain in his fingers and he couldn't hold on couldn't find his man last time and that leaves him with a third and six Williams will pass works the middle good job running that route to get past the sticks because he got nothing after the catch quarterbacks are just like anybody else they get in rhythms and to get in the Rhythm early on third down and have a little success here and get the sticks moving great chance to continue to get this offense moving down the field to get some more points and the Eagles are marching down the field they go to the ground you'll take this every time five yard on the first down play after a good pick up on the run it's second down he's looking to throw and he drops it just a little too slippery in the hands that's just not the start you're expecting to see from this guy obviously it's a big game there's a lot of pressure the crowd is loud but we've seen two drops in the first quarter from this guy he's got to Crank It Up eight play of the drive and to keep this one going they'll need to convert a third and five they go to the draw he gets it oh so close to the first down marker but I think he's going to be a touch short less than a yard to go for a first down and the offense will remain on the field on fourth down looking for the completion he's got it and they convert and they finally get him to the ground an easy conversion for this offense defense not exactly the perfect fourth down call there really good job there don't force anything take time and he finds his man for the first down yeah and I think really good job by seeing the defense understand that they're dropping back they're taking away most things all right get the ball to my running back he can make plays after he catches it nice job by the quarterback seeing the situation and where to go with the football out of the shotgun they go to the ground not much there on the Run he gets one to the 31 you know runs like this often times are like a boxer the boxing match obviously it's not a knockout punch but these are body blows and as the game goes on these small gains are going to turn into longer runs the Eagles want to move quickly looking for a physical attack from the gun and he's able to find a little bit of Running Room before they get him down and runs like that are like body blows in a boxing match four five sixy gains early turn into 20 40 yard gains later they really wear down defenses and they test their physicality Here Comes third and short from the 24 and this offense does not want to send out the field goal unit wide receiver coming across in motion wants to throw on third down just threw that one away to avoid disaster third and short in college football today you see so much more pass than you used to the offense stays aggressive and I think they stay aggressive because they know they're in field goal range they got that three in their back pocket now on fourth down they'll send out the field goal unit the kicker will try to punch one through from 41 yds away field goal is good [Applause] so the kickoff team is out there ready to boot it away after putting up a field goal let's see what the defense can do on the move from inside is five didn't find any crease in that Ki off coverage and he'll be stopped at the 17 boy state has it back ready to go to work on offense boy David they would love to stack another touchdown on top of that last drive and this offense did such a good job on the last Drive everything in Rhythm moved the ball down the field didn't make those mistakes Jesse and they need to do it again on this one yeah you're right they had the defense on their heels you wonder what sort of communication was going on that sideline what sort of changes were they able to make because they got to stop the bleeding right now after the short completion it's now second down they'll go to the ground got it across the 20 and out to the 23 a pick up of four I think you run that play so you stay out of third and long third and long is not where an offense ever wants to thrive third and medium hey I'm good with that so you run that play to make sure you're set up for a good third down now last run leaves him with a third down will they keep it on the ground looking for a man it's Nelson working that left side and they are pushing the ball down the field a big pick up on that one and the tackle is finally made That's What's So Scary About This offense they've got guys in the perimeter that can change the game in one single play and you saw it right there too much speed on the perimeter to create that explosive play and the Broncos want to crank the tempo [Applause] the give to the running back from the shotgun and this one will be stopped for No Gain it's an offense that takes pride in being physical they try to get it going on the ground but no gain on that one does knowwhere to run not a lot of wiggle room for the ball carrier this defense came in knowing that they had to match their physicality let's see if they can keep it up they got nothing on the last play it's second and 10 he's looking to throw makes his connection he's brought down quickly minimal gain there still a bit short of the first down and a nice job working the middle of the field I think it's so important to keep defenses honest and you can't just Dink and dunk outside you got to work the middle great job finding this wide receiver over the middle of the field passing game very effective on second down what about here on third from the gun wants to pass find space on the right and he makes a completion there set up and in business at the 20 it's all about critical downs and distances on defense you want to be great unit defensively you've got to be good on third down and in the red zone for this defense giving up a third down like that that is just a gut the Broncos are moving quickly down the field they'll run it in the Red Zone it's Genty they pull him down at the 17 after a pick up of three and the running back didn't get nice job by the defense you can tell they're focused in on this running back on this run game being physical getting knockbacks and limiting his carries after the three yd pickup they come to the line Second and [Applause] seven trying play action fires to the wide out makes the catch he's run out of bounds after the big and they are in first and goal have a we're in the first quarter and already he's over 100 yard receiving this is ridiculous obviously this coaching staff they made a concerted effort and decision to get this guy involved in the game on offense early they are doing exactly that and the defense makes a play sacking him back at the 10 and that is just what you want you get a first and goal situation defensively and you can get a sack and get a good loss put them out of an easy running situation nice job by the defense defense rose up deep in its own end on that last play now a second and long coming some misdirection with the counter and maybe they want to try somewhere else because there is nothing doing in the middle of this defense looking like they're have to try to throw this one into the end zone here on third down David quarterback's got to be careful can't get greedy because you know these windows they close fast extremely tight Windows find your big body guys that you know can win in contested situations here on third down turning to the running game here on Third and goal he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple and decision time coming for this offense how about the defense they've hung in their Palmer made him earn it all the way down now you're going to go forward on fourth down yeah you know after running so many plays offensively on the drive I know it'd be disappointing to only walk away with a field goal but you'd feel even worse if you went for a touchdown and didn't get it I think he kick it right here and that is no good guys after the Miss still up by four well everybody in the stadium thought that was an automatic three not so fast bad Miss by the kicker Georgia Southern has it back and here comes the offense again guys that last trip a little disappointing having to take the three yeah I think Jesse you see so many offenses talk about getting yards and the tempo and all the stuff they do was a nice job moving the football but they got to get in the end zone this time yeah and I think to do that they just got to be more physical at the point of attack get some push up front they need to be the best running team in this game to win and the Eagles in the hurry up he has the first and still on his feet oh it's on the ground life fall and the defense jumps on it they get that turnover oh and it's a hit like that that will absolutely light up the sideline light up the stadium change the momentum and help you win a football game because that hit is what caused that fumble Bo State ready to send out that offense you want to talk about taking the wind out of your sails Drive the ball down the field and miss the field goal David you know what don't leave it up to Kickers execute better offensively I think you move the ball nice you got to keep that in mind but Palmer I think you got to stay aggressive and don't settle for field goals yeah because you got to know there's just no margin for error right now you just have got to be able to execute at a higher level solid pick up of four on first down it's second and six they'll go right back to the Run they make the stop give him three yard on the carry balls at the 24 know I think a big part of this isn't necessarily scoring a touchdown on that plate but you're just trying to get your offensive line in the rhythm of the game let those Big Fellas get lathered up you have to wonder after missing a field goal on the last how are they going to play this third down they'll try to move the chains on the ground and the Broncos have a first down well they needed two yards to get that first down that's exactly what they got great job of execution no secret about it just got to be physical get a hat on a hat low man wins all the cliches to get that third down in short the Broncos with the first and 10 moving the running back trying to get the D to tip its hand unleashes one deep throw to the end zone it's pick off that's why you love veterans in this defense they stay locked in on their rules and he made the pick and defensive backs you think don't have good hands the big fell shows it how about that defensive back going up and getting the interception nice job breaking on the football you say that's why you play defense cuz you own hands Georgia Southern has it back ready to go to work on offense ball security always Paramount that football must be riveted to your rib cage Jesse and it wasn't last time oh what a grab by the defense he was looking for a little more on that return but he hands this offense a short field at the 35 well the defense comes away with the pick there with their nickel personel I think moving for if you're on offense when you see that Personnel on the field you want to run the ball against it because you got smaller guys out there or if you're going to throw think about quick screens outside when you have tight ends flexed on the perimeter bigger bodies blocking smaller guys comes out throwing on first down receiver looks it in it's complete they stop him just a link or two short of the first and man what they can do on second down here well we knew coming into this game this offense was going to try and get this receiver involved and get him involved early so here they are just finding an easy completion it's not a touchdown but they just want to get this guy lathered up and get him into a r hand off from the shotgun and they'll bring him down but not before he picks up the first down I love when players understand situations and they understand where the first down marker is and they understand where I got to get to a lot of people you'll see run north south and try to bounce out wide and make big plays sometimes it's not about making big plays sometimes it's about getting that first down to make sure I get an extra set of downs instead of trying to make those big touchdown runs going to be a gain of about three down to the 21 got three on first down it's second and [Applause] seven running back searching for a hole knocked down but not before he crossed into the Red Zone and picked up four yard down to the 17 and the Broncos have push it inside the 20 to the air it's Nelson and it's incomplete on third down got to give the defense credit on that play taking everything away forcing the incompletion now it's decision time fourth and short in your in field goal range what do you do [Applause] here so now on comes the field goal unit he'll line it up from 34 y out and the kicker delivers the three to salvage that drive they were able to get a field goal on the board and now they'll kick it away and he takes this from inside the five he was looking for some Running Room but not much to be found as he stopped at the 18 Georgia Southern has it back and here comes the offense again let's see if this drive goes better than the last one they were in and out quickly after the quick pick David oh look out a huge play and they get all the way to the 45 yd line defense is going to have their hands full trying to stop this guy they better rally to the football and get multiple hats cuz he is not easy to bring down both teams wanted to establish the run and they have done exactly that in the first quarter [Applause] they'll break the seal on this quarter here on first [Applause] down they'll give it to him again he's dropped behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a loss of three and defense nowadays they don't look at stats of what is the yards per rush they look at how many negative plays they can create cuz why now you look at second down man it just became very predictable for this offense nice job creating the loss on first down Williams looking for a man and he drops it just took his eye off of it at the last minute well man I mean you don't get more wide open than that right big fella running down the field nobody near him quarterback puts it on him just got to make the catch they line up with some serious work to do if they want to convert this one on Third and long he'll have to turn it loose deep now he's going to break the pocket he'll pull it down gets down at the last possible second to avoid getting lit up he does a good job of dropping back going through his progressions nothing there what do I do go get some yardage make it positive don't sit back in the pocket and force something into a bad situation or take a sack great job making something out of nothing Georgia Souther brings on the punt team first pun of the day and he love to lock them up close to their goal line and that one will Sail Out of Bounds no chance for a return there the Bronco offense back out there ready to give it another spin the give to the lone running back he picks up maybe a couple before he stopped right at the 30 yd line the Run game just has not been working for this offense all game you saw it on that last play as well just not getting enough push up front on the offensive line they haven't been physical enough after picking up a couple at second and eight he's looking to throw scrambling away at the 40 there he goes picks up the first down and gets down to avoid contact you know QBs want to make those big plays they want to they want to put up the big stats but when nothing's there sometimes you just tuck the ball get a minimal gain I like the slide by the way too get down and don't take a big hit it'll be a first down from the 49 yd line from the gun the running back has it they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one they're trying to run the ball on first down guys but just nothing doing up front their offensive line got blown up on that play there was nowhere for that guy to go lost one on that last one it's second and 11 they've softened them up with the run now to throw it good timing on the quick out and they're able to force him out of bounds after a short pick up well that's one the DB I think would like to have back out route he was in man coverage if he could have just got out of his break a little bit sooner he might have had a chance to intercept that one and take it to the house big third down here they need to get the ball to the 41 to throw it's Nelson throws to the tight end makes the grab he works his way inside the 30 down to the 29 and picks up a first down defense is about feeling out the offense and what they like to do what are they going to do in third and short third and medium third and long so far the offense is winning defense is going to need to make some adjustments the Broncos are on the move to the air first down release to the back the quick out and he'll run across the sidelines after the good gain listen running backs are not just running backs anymore you're going to be a wide receiver in today's football and a great job sneaking out of the back field getting the football letting them get some positive yards and now on second down for this offense [Applause] he's looking to throw got his man quickly and they reacted well to the completion but it was too eight to keep them from getting the first down well you know who's got to love this offense picking up so many first downs it's their own defense David I know you love playing on teams great offenses and the Broncos come to the line with a new set of downs going to run it it's Genty got some room into the goal line gets it all the way down to the two yd line he was fighting for that end zone well it just seems like everything is working for the offense on this drive another nice gain this time on the ground the Broncos will try to put one on the board on first and [Applause] goal they'll try to get it in with the run and Hees it to thech state that touchdown gives his team a pretty significant lead at this point and that's what you want you want to start fast you want everything to come out start clicking make some plays it doesn't always work that way but when you do man the energy the crowd everybody's into it now the other team better respond lining up to tack one more onto that lead and the extra point will tack another one onto this lead so it's a 73 yd touchdown drive and finish to deal with the short touchdown run from the two they're just about ready to kick it away and they desperately wanted to attempt to return but decided not to instead they'll take the Touchback leaves it with the back picks up a useful five yd chunk out to the 30 yd [Applause] line the Eagles headed quickly to the line on the ground it's white he locked up and held on to bring him down stopping the run is about physicality it's about I'm bigger than you I'm stronger than you up front really nice job by the defense showing their strength bowing up stuffing the Run linebackers trying to create some confusion this is where you make the money on the drive ball at the 30 it's third and short Williams will pass he's right on target he gets those chains moving gets it out to the 42 yd line tell you what that's great execution between the QB and receiver they looked like they could execute that throw in their sleep quarterback took his steps threw it on time great route by the receiver nice job securing the catch this offense will snap it from the 42 on First and 10 he's looking to throw it and the defense is all over the quarterback and down he goes this offense is going to have to come up with a plan to block this guy he is an absolute monster and he showed you all his tools on that sack a big play for the defense with a first down sack now Advantage d as the offense comes up on second down really nice stop there from this senior leader and these defensive tackles just eat people they swallow human beings when you get near them they're so big so strong those guys those running backs coming they just need a m they put one mid on a running back and he usually falls to the ground just because of their sheer mass and strength on Third and long hoping to throw beyond the sticks complete out of the back field and that did not work defense smelled that one out from the beginning I don't know about the play call there guys third down they're throwing it behind the line of scrimmage seeing if this guy can do something once he has it in his hands but a better job of pursuit and tackling defensively Now setting up fourth Georgia Southern brings on the punt team this will be the second time had to kick it away wants to return it and the coverage team able to make the tackle boyy state has it back ready to go to work on offense Jesse a very productive Drive last time wound up with a touchdown yeah mixing and matching play calling really well nice balance on that last one dve we'll see what they can do here in this next Drive yeah and I don't expect anything different when you put together a drive like that I would do more of the same keep the pace keep it going picked up two yards on that last one they need eight on second Down On The Run it's Genty no he got loose what a good run there he has enough for the first down this running back loves running into the teeth of the defense in between the tackles he keeps a low pad level and he's got some speed now they've got it at the 44 on First and 10 the give to the back we'll give him a couple on that one second and eight coming up I'll tell you this is a running back who's very very dangerous and the defense did a good job getting him down there but they got to do a great job gang tackling because this is a guy that can break tackles and turn those types of plays into home runs after picking up a couple at second and eight looking to throw it's Nelson finds his Target down the middle they get him on the ground after he gets enough to move the sticks love the way he didn't just run to a spot he found the cushion in the zone and got himself open for the first down yeah and you're taught to find that space don't run right into a Zone Defender who's sitting there looking at the quarterback and looking at you so much creativity with routes now and being able to just have subtle moves One Way come back the the other way nice and the ball comes out what a disastrous play how in the world did the offense retain possession that ball carrier is very lucky that easily could have ended up in the hands of the defense you have got to do a better job with ball secure you want to talk about hearts and throats when that ball was on the ground the offense recovered its own fumble the lone back's got it and he doesn't find much Running Room a short gain on the play this is a third and [Applause] long looking to throw and he needs a bunch turns it loose all kinds of room to throw that one in there chopping up this defense and they've got it all the way down to the 23 well this offense told us coming in they were going to challenge this secondary early and often they were going to use their speed to their advantage and take advantage of this quarterback's touch and armed talent and they already in the second quarter they've got over 200 yards throwing looking to go up top on first down snags it over the middle that completion gets them inside the 10 and the defense is running out of room to defend this offense is clicking and clearly everything is working the offensive coordinator's calling good plays the quarterback in his unit is executing in this defense right now they have no answers and the Broncos have it in scoring position on first and goal they'll try to get it in with the Run they get him on the ground at the three yd line but this defense is taking some punches listen you you got to be able to know what play to call and what hole to go through like the line blocks for a certain hole good job getting through the hole getting what was blocked getting a nice positive game making your situation really good he got it down to the three now it's second and goal he's going to the right looking for a path to the end zone he works his way all the way down to the three and the defense is reeling they keep pushing forward down to the three but now it's third and goal back to pass it's Nelson unleashes to the end zone and he's got it touchdown Broncos and it's so underrated the the relationship between a QB and a wide receiver the timing the ability to know where he's going to be and be accurate with the football that's what leads to nice touchdowns Jesse well the chemistry between these two guys has to be great when you're throwing into the end zone because coverage is going to be tight the throw might not be perfect but this is something these two guys have been repping in practice over over and over and over and it's paying dividends now on game day getting set for the point after and the extra point is true and the lead balloons to 21 so it's a 73 yd touchdown drive and they finish it up with a three yd scoring toss lining up cover the kick after that touchdown drive and he'll just take a knee and this drive will start at the 25 Georgia Southern has it back ready to go to work on offense they're down by 21 points but you got a touchdown here and you do at least apply a little game pressure Jesse it's true I think for them to get back in this one at this point now they need the quarterback to play his best football he's going to have to be good really pre- snap David making sure they're in the right looks and he's got to be really good with his decision making he's got to be dowed in because defensively you're giving up points so it's not like you have the luxury for defense playing great the offense is going to have to score and score pretty dang quickly fires to the big fella coaches talk about running with violence running with bad intentions that's what that looks like as he gets it up to the 32 I'll say this man in college football you see a lot of bad tackling you didn't see it right there that was awesome job first off being there at the point of attack once the tight end made the catch there was no doubt he was going down great job form tack they turn to the passing game on Third and short just a short pass to the tight end he's got enough for the first down they'll spot it at the 37 there's got to be a sense of urgency for this offense right now they're trailing they're going to be kicking off to open the second half so they need points they need to go Tempo maybe that last first down gets them a little bit of Georgia Southern in a hurry we've reached the two-minute warning and this thing has been onesided and they hope to at least have something to feel good about going into halftime Georgia Southern about to snap it on another first and 10 Williams looking for a man a strike down field just gashing this defense a big gain to the 40 yd line they have just three measley points on the board but trying to Cobble a little something together here before halftime yeah make something happen and listen if I'm this defense I want to keep them right where they're at done a great job all game keeping them in check don't let him get some cheap points going into the half get momentum and start feeling confident about themselves they'll throw it on first down and it's incomplete if you're going to take a hit like that you might as well hang on to the ball this offense just has to find a way to find a rhythm here they're playing at home and they want this crowd to stay involved and be an asset in the game but they need to start making plays they can't keep throwing incompletions this early after the misfire now on second down he's looking to throw he's got his man he's all the way down to the 27 yd line and they are threatening that is an excellent throw by the quarter the window between the zones and delivering that ball on [Music] time not the most productive half for this offense so far but finally starting to get it in gear first and 10 how about that play to get a hand in there and force the incompletion got to give the defense a lot of credit man because they've come into this hostile environment they've quieted the crowd down with some of the plays they're making they've got a nice lead right here and they're making it hard for this quarterback to go to work they'll line up for a second down play they keep attacking through the air and the pass is incomplete thanks to a big hit the big tight end tries to make a catch and you could tell extends for the ball but great job by the defender getting in there making the hit dislodging the football out as the same time as he's going to catch it and the big tight end couldn't hold on to it this drive was clicking along but a couple of misfires threatening to stall out on Third and 10 finds a tight end timeout called here by the defense it's the first one they've used this half the modest gain on the completion really shows why you want to run the Zone make them execute and rally to the ball 100% Zone eyes on the quarterback I see him throw the football break on it go make tackles live to fight another there he splits to and three on the board so they were able to put up a three spot on that last drive and now the kickoff team out there as they prepare to put boot to leather he'll bring it back from inside is five he was hoping for something a little more Dynamic but they get him on the ground at the 20 boy he State ready to send out that offense going up top on first down and it goes through his hands oh he had an explosive play right there for the taking but couldn't reel it in Hey listen the quarterback didn't get the completion on that throw but that doesn't mean you can't try again trust in your Playmakers outside to push the field and stretch it vertically and make a play for you it won't surprise me to see this QB take more shots as this game goes on looking down field it's Nelson this time he's got his man they make the stop but this passing game does some damage and they move the sticks with the first down well we see another catch by this guy this defense is going to need to do a better job of tackling the catch in coverage I know they want to slap the ball away but if you can't do it and force the incompletion you've got to at least make sure you're able to drag him down to the ground as soon as he catches the ball unloads to the wide out and it's incomplete good play Down field by the DB well guess who they're taking a shot to the guy that's just been torching this defense in the entire first half he's already got over a 100 yards so why not try to add to it and force this defense to prove that they can cover him they did do a nice job right there that's not the last time this guy's going to see the ball thrown his way right back up top second and 10 grabbed over the middle it's jenty and he's brought down after a nice gain this offense is clicking everything working together really well coordinator quarterback offensive line good Rhythm good flow defense is going to have to find something to kind of mess up this timing they got going on the Broncos will have it first and 10 he wants to throw gets it out quickly they'll immediately call timeout I like the slot receiver because he gives his quarterback a good option working the middle of the field he's a nice weapon in this offense that last completion sets him up on second down he's looking to throw moving out of the pocket at the 35 he's loose and he scoots his way to the first down and then slides to avoid the hit and you're seeing here the difficulties defenses have trying to contain this guy you a lane opener you don't sack him right away you allow him to get outside the pocket he is going to take off and he is very difficult to tackle in the open field he's got running back likeability out in space with the catch it's Genty the offense will stop the clock and use one of its timeouts and as the clock is winding down here in the first half they'll send out the field goal team the holder will KNE at the 24 a 34 y coming from the right hatch and this one splits the upright and the field goal to end the half takes us to half that's the end of the second quarter that means it's time to join Kevin in our halim update gentlemen you've had yourselves a superb broadcast so far today in Statesboro and we've got to start our halftime breakdown with this Superstar running back his elusiveness his raw power this young man is the total package and his ability to catch the ball out of the back field is a differentiator a lot of guys can hit the hole this kid can hit the hole and hit the home run in the passing game and with that let's send it back to the guys inside the prettiest little stadium in America and the Broncos will kick it off to start the second half start the return inside his five really disciplined job by the coverage unit to get down there and make the stop at the 19 Georgia Southern has it back and here comes the offense again they come into this third quarter with a lot of work they need to get done yeah and it starts with this possession and and I'm I'm going piece by piece I know this is coach speaking very simple I score I get a stop I score I can get back in this game but it's got to be one drive at a time it's going to have to be but I think the offensively is we're probably going to have to score every time we get it because our defense has been struggling they have not been getting a lot of stops so this is a critical drive here for this offense Georgia Southern in a hurry from the gun the running back looking for room picked up two yard on that last one they need eight on second down looking for a crease it's white and he's able to bounce off one tackle but still not a whole lot of running room this offensive line better figure out a plan for this D tackle he is tough to block with one guy you might want to start double teaming him going to be a problem moving forward you saw all of his ability on that last play if every Journey begins with a step this offense needs to step into a third down conversion and then try to turn it into some scores and fast throws to the wide out oh they really could have used that catch there physical pass defense it brings up a fourth down love the effort on defense that time that looked like Georgia brings on the punt team let's see if he can help the coverage team out with this one make sure that there's not going to be a return on this one Ball's out of bounds and I think they'll mark it right around the 25 they'll throw it on first down can't find his man as he took a shot trying to deliver that football it'll be second down doesn't take this defense a lot of time to get to the quarterback man they've got speed all over the place they hit him so quickly and because of that the ball Falls incomplete offense gets set for second [Applause] down after the incompletion they go back up top got him down field he's loose down the left side touchdown Broncos and the Ping has started well this offense looked Unstoppable in the first half lighting up the scoreboard and it doesn't look much different here in the second half they take their first drive of the third quarter March it down the field and score there is no end in sight for these guys ling up to add another and with the extra point they push the lead out a little further aggressive play calling on that drive just two plays they get the long touchdown pass to pay it off kickoff team is on the field they'll try to drive this one deep on the run from inside his zone five and the Return Man is stopped and that'll leave it up to the offense on the next Drive first snap of this drive will come from inside the 15 at their own 14 yd line and he just flat dropped it I think he wanted to run before he secured it yeah and the QB never wants to miss inside on an out route right you got to throw it to the sidelines don't let anybody undercut that go make a big play and he did he put it outside put it on the money I think the receiver needs to do a little better job they got to secure that catch he was open enough to make that play give to the running back works his way into the traffic and picks up three to the 17 now facing a third and long Williams will pass he off one deep down the left side and that one's incomplete they weren't just trying to move the chains they were trying to move the scoreboard instead it's fourth down well after struggling so much in the first half you thought they would have made some adjustments here at halftime to see if they can open up this passing game but early on in the second half they're just not really able to get that done incompletion on third down in your own end you're expecting them to punt fourth down and the punt team sends it the other way fair catch called for and made the Bronco offense back out there ready to give it another spin keeping it on the ground with the single back after picking up a couple it's second and eight they'll put the tight end in motion just feeds the running back they'll get the first down it's spotted on the 49 well they get another big run for a first down and if you're on offense you love the way your offensive line is blocking early in this game they are getting tremendous movement and they're making life pretty running backs right now it'll be a first down from the 49 yd line they'll run it out of the shotgun and he was fortunate not to lose yardage on that play able to wedge it back to the line of scrimmage awesome job up front by this defensive line being so good at the point of attack and eating blocks eating some double teams that allows these linebackers to run free unencumbered and get to the football got stuffed on first down it's second and 10 fires to the wide out he's got an open man his defense giving up ground as he's finally knocked down at the 26 and I like the throw I like him understanding I'm getting man coverage the sideline is my friend I can't miss inside where that guy's chasing him throws it right on the corner route great job get a nice positive game the Broncos are on the move off the play fake on first down throws toward the end zone touchdown boy State and the beat down has ensued man really nice job attacking the middle of the field you see those safeties man I want to split them he splits it right down the middle throws that post right on the numbers catches the ball in the end zone touchdown and it looks as if they've buzzed down replay wants to have another Peak at that last play and they take another look at the play but the officials on the field were right and the play will stand the kick is up and good and one more on the lead a very efficient five playay scoring drive and they finished the deal with a 26 yard touchdown pass the kickoff team out there set to boot it away here he comes from inside his own five didn't find any crease in that kickoff coverage and he'll be stopped at the 17 Georgia Southern has it back ready to go to work on offense David the punter got some work last time they'd like to keep him on the sidelines in this drive yeah it's not something you want to say very often you don't want the punter out there this offense needs to get back lathered up and get a little bit more of a rhythm best way to do that identify where your best players are and just get them the football give these guys some touches to Kickstart this offense they can really be aggressive after that last play it's second and three from the gun they'll try to to impose their running game he is going nowhere stop at the line of scrimmage well they want to come out and try to get the Run game established but UPF front defensively they made a play they gave up nothing on that one got to find some breathing room if you're going to establish yourself on the ground and there wasn't any that time yeah ree I wonder now if this offense is maybe going to try to get to the perimeter of the field and see if they can use their speed to hurt this defense got room at the 35 and he almost ran away from body on that one a huge pick up on that play yeah how about the third down Run play and this is an offense that they can do a lot of different things so they make you guard the whole field but you might want to start with that running back and he makes the big play gets the third down conversion gets him a new set of downs now he's looking to throw it oh most had the completion just missed it well that's disappointing for the offense because that's a that you rep all week long in practice you should be able to hit that one no problem and QB receiver couldn't come up with a completion couldn't make the connection last time let's see if they' throw it again Williams looking for a man using the quick game and that's the looking man coverage you can throw the hitch route against right when the receiver's got a little bit of access so he's got some room to work with against press you're risking a pick six so good decision there by the Q knowing that was a good look to throw into third and short coming here right from the Midfield strike from the gun wants to pass getting some heat and the defense gets to the quarterback and it's been a long day I mean there's not much to point out that this offense has done well they're behind huge and they got no shot if they can't somehow find a way to protect their quarterback Georgia Southern brings on the punt team they've been busy out there to punt for the fifth time today yet another punt on the way got to make sure that hamstring stays loose he's been busy couldn't get away from that cover team and they've got him down at the 23 boyy state has it back ready to go to work on offense how about that last drive just carved him up in the air David yeah and how about that quarterback you gave him the ball and he delivered the goods great job taking apart the defense Jesse on that last drive he really did David I mean that was a master class in just reading coverage and being accurate after the three- yd pickup they come to the line Second and seven on the run it's Genty what a run there to pick up the first down you ain't getting by all these guys right up the middle unless your offensive line and your tight ends and everybody is putting in the work up front committing to blocking the running back does a great job finding the hole exploding through how about that nice big huge game if I'm the OC let's call that one again they move the tight end all over off the play fake on first down wants to throw that left side now he stopped just a chain link or two away from the first down and sets them up beautifully here QB now has over 400 yards passing guys and you got to give everybody else in his Supporting Cast ton of credit receivers great job running routes catching the football and this offensive line has been outstanding giving him time to throw give to the back shakes off a tackler and the Broncos are stopped but before getting the first down well the offense knew what they needed to get that first down so they dial up the running play and they get just enough to keep the drive Alive Now from the 48 yd line it's first and 10 he looks that one in nicely they make the stop but the sweet throw and catches plenty to give them a first down and there you see the bind that the RPO play can put a defender in that linebacker had to make a decision was the running back going to get the ball he thought so so he bit up and that allowed the slant to be thrown in behind trying to find his man on first down he'll heave it deep and it slips through his fingers incomplete that would have been a huge gain if he could have squeezed it well these DBS better stay ready because even though they're trailing by a lot in this game the opponent's not trying to run the ball and bleed the clock they are still taking shots so you're going to have to continue to try to make plays back there deep to the air it's Nelson firing to the right complete they make the stop after the catch and still some work to do to pick up that first down man this guy's going to need some water when he gets to the sidelines they've been putting him to work on this drive right we've seen him tote in the rock with success now you're seeing him get involved in the passing game too they are highlighting his versatility here on this drive on Third and short they'll try to throw for it they'll run the screen at the 20 he's got space they make the stop but not before the screen has hit him for a first down and much more really good execution by this offense the Broncos come to the line with a fresh set of downs they'll keep it on the ground to the right headed to the end zone touchdown Broncos and the route is on Precision blocking up front created the open Lane and the running back followed it beautifully yeah it's pretty easy follow an offensive line that makes those holes and just gives you a caravan all the way to the end zone what an unbelievable job blocking up front they'll try to attack one more on their score and the extra point will tack another one onto this lead they marched 79 yards on the drive and they finished it with a beautiful 15yd Run for the score about to kick it off after punching it in for the touchdown on the move from inside is five really disciplined job by the coverage unit to get down there and make the stop at the 19 Georgia Southern has it back and here comes the offense again their Drive chart is starting to look a little monotonous punt punt punt David and their defense is starting to get a little frustrated too they just keep putting me back on the field possession after possession Jesse this offense needs to get their heads out of there you know what the punter's on the sideline with the oxygen mask right now he's been playing so much he's not used to this this offense they just got to stay on the field they've got to put a drive together and get balance going running and throwing the ball and the pressure gets there and down he goes at the 18 well we've seen this offense struggle early in this game protecting the quarterback they went in at halftime thought they had made the right adjustments but it's not looking like it right now they're still having issues keeping this guy standing up straight up front they're just getting beat across the board not exactly the ideal situation for this offense third and long backed up inside their 20 Williams will pass looking to scramble and this defense has maxed out this pressure another sack this has been a frustrating day and I'm not sure it's going to get any better you're already down huge listen this offense can't protect this quarterback they don't do anything right right now this defense has had their number all game long Georgia Southern brings on the punt team three and out they got stuck in Reverse they hope the punt can bail them out so from the shadow of his goal post he gets the punt away not going to risk a return here he'll make the fair catch boyy State ready to send out that offense how about the way they attacked the last time they had the ball mixing run and pass and winding up in the end zone Jesse that's why recruiting is so important they've got weapons at every skill position on the field any of these guys is dangerous if they touch the football let's see what they do on this drive David and so Palmer I got to take away something I can't let them have everything and have success I got to be aggressive against the run or play for the pass I can't give them everything pulls and throws off the RPO and he won't quite get there but boy after that pick up just a few inches to go for the first an array of possibilities here after the strong run on second down third down coming do they do it again they'll try to bully their way for the first they get him on the ground but not before he gets enough for the first down and David how demoralizing does it have to be for a defense when you know they're going to run it everyone in the stadium knows they're going to run and still you cannot stop it there's nothing more demoralizing as a defensive lineman because it just it ticks you off it gets in your head you you know that guy's going to come off and smack you and you got to do something about it I think the defense may be time to start committing more guys to stopping that run not worrying about the pass as much he's finally brought down but that freshman found some Running Room well this is one of the fastest quarterbacks in college football and that's why the option's a good idea because if he can get out in space he get a chance to get down field he is really difficult to tackle and he's very difficult to catch as you saw in that last play getting a first down they'll throw it from the Red Zone quick completion on the out route and he'll step across the sidelines after making a good gain on that one yeah and I you gotta love those matchups when you get a running back matched up on somebody else it's never going to be a cornerback that's not going to happen so finding a good matchup getting that speed isolated now I'm going to go attack and make some plays looking to pass it's Nelson got it down to the three yd line and that's where they'll have it first and goal if you don't tip the scales at three bills stay on the Sidelines big boys in the goal line D they'll use the running game on first and goal he's dropped behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a loss of three the defense there has their backs against the wall that's a great job of really just gearing down getting some push up front not giving away anything and making that play and that tackle after getting nothing done on first down second and goal from the six tries again to get it in he bullies his way all the way down to the five yd line all right so now you're in this third down situation close to the goal line and it just feels David like they're going to have to throw the football in order to score a touchdown here I like maybe trying to get the quarterback outside on the perimeter and give him a run pass option I like that too getting the quarterback on the move and here's the thing if I get close and I get stopped it's Fourth Down fourth down means go for it that's all that means now today in football and it's incomplete as he tried to thread that needle to the back corner of the end zone yeah and third and short that choose not to run throw the football and I think a lot of that has to do with they know they're in field goal range they can take the three points on the board they'll have to settle for a field goal attempt from the right hash and this distance makes that angle not quite so severe kick is good the offense has three points to show for the drive and that'll add more a lead that is already way out of hand that last score sort of felt like the finishing touches on a and he takes this from inside the five didn't find any crease in that kickoff coverage and he'll be stopped at the 17 final play of the quarter coming from the gun running back on the move there to make the tackle and with that we'll head to the fourth quarter and talk about spreading the all around everyone getting a chance to show off the hands based on the number of targets we've seen I guess if you're an optimist the stage is set for a massive fourth quarter comeback Williams looking for a man fires to the big fella and maybe he'll get back to the line of scrimmage but no more than that nice job recognizing the route defensively there as soon as that ball was thrown that Defender knew exactly who it was going to and he was able to make the tackle at the perfect time no gain on that one second down coming up he's looking to throw quickly complete ripping off a pretty good chunk of yardage they've got it out to the 41 with a first down the offense has struggled they're not going to win this game but trust me this coaching staff is still trying to find things to build off of for next week and after an explosive play like that maybe they can generate just a little bit of momentum and gain a little bit of confidence that they can keep coaching up heading into their next game keeps looking down field a strong tackle and wrap up from the junior it's just so nice to have a QB under Center nowadays in football you can trust these guys you put so much on their plate and you tell them go get positive yards when it's there and a lot of these guys are such great athletes they do it with ease line getting set on second down he's looking to throw he finds his man and he was just a couple of steps away from taking that one even further after the catch and a big key on that throw to the slot receiver guys is putting the ball out in front the location of the throw is what helped that guy get extra yards after the catch and the eag go have it with a first and 10 looking to move it through the air they're bringing heat he's going to take off able to get just a few before sliding to avoid the hits yeah I think you're just seeing the experience this guy has right he's so poised that initially he's flushed out of the pocket nothing's open and he doesn't panic he's not throwing it away he's not sliding early he just knows where the defense isn't and he's able to attack that space with his speed and get a positive play Williams will pass takes the easy throw in the flat the defense wouldn't let him lose there and it was a completion but they lost yardage and a really nice job by the defense winning second down I think the quarterback thought he could dump this off maybe get some positive yards set up a good third down the defense did a great job responding and getting that running back on the ground they've started a pretty good drive this will be the seventh play but they need to third and five he's got it a quick tackle made but he's got plenty for the first [Music] down here's this offense with a fresh set of downs off play action on first down fires left and he intercepts it taking it the other way he goes out of bounds but he just about did it himself what a return after the interception and as a defensive lineman late in the game man when you know it's passed you're pinning your ears back trying to get to the quarterback and DBS are trying to do this pad them stats get the nice job by this D the Bronco offense back out they're ready to give it another spin always good to get points on a drive David but Chip Shot field goals can leave you a little empty and I think it's great to get points but the great teams get touchdowns in the red area you got to get out there this time and execute a little better on this drive you're absolutely right David and generally the best Red Zone offenses are the ones that run the ball the best so let's see if they can be a little bit more physical on this drive they're in the Red Zone first and 10 from the 20 he's going to pass finds his big tight end he's there to make the stop but not before he sets up this off first and goal from the seven this is this is just getting gross I mean he's close to 500 yards now just dissecting this defense they have had no answer for that powerful arm and the Broncos line it up with a first and goal scanning the field it's Nelson touchdown Broncos and the punishment has been extended points points and more points this offense has had their way they just keep their foot on the gas keep putting up points keep putting up touchdowns and you know what this is one of those stats days you look back and you're like that guy had 12 touchdowns on the year Well four or five of them might have been in this game they'll try to add another to their lead and the extra point just tacks a little bit more onto this huge lead quick strike offense on that three playay scoring drive and they close the deal with the seven Y for the score lining up to cover the kick after touchdown Drive he'll bring it back from inside his five he was looking for more Running Room but none to be found as he stopped at the 23 Georgia Southern has it back ready to go to work on offense just had to get rid of that one good job to fight another play well the defense really stepped up in this game they knew they had to slow down this passing attack they knew they had some matchups they were going to have to win oneon-one they've been able to do that and as a result they haven't allowed 200 passing yards in this game now on second down after the incompletion he's looking to throw quarterback strolling away from heat Nifty little Scamper on this one enough for the first down and he slides in safe nice job by the QB s back in the pocket you can tell he wants to throw the football go through his progressions nothing home take off and slide I love the slide at the end don't take a big shot they'll snap it on first down from the 35 Williams looking for a man unloads to the wide out he got a hand in there knocked it away incomplete and it's just been that kind of day for this quarterback in this offense guys they have never been able to get into a rhythm throwing the football timing's been off accuracy hasn't been great we've seen some drops just not in sync and that's why they find themselves trailing by a lot right here late in the game they'll go back to the air on second down and he can't connect on the throw it's incomplete and that's just the kind of game it's been for this quarterback in this offense you got a great game plan all week long you're watching it throughout practice you think you're going to have a chance to light up the scoreboard but they're just not able to hook up you got to give this defense a ton of credit they've done a great job job in coverage they've been breaking on passes they've had their number and that's why they're leading by as much as they are on third down he drops to throw fires one high and deep and is knocked away an incomplete the defensive back staying in phase and batting it away the offense came into this game knowing that for them to win they were going to have to make some big plays throwing the football that just has not been the case here in the fourth quarter they've been held to less than 200 passing yards and that's really the story the game guys fourth down and the punt team sends it the other ways it in looking for space they're able to put a stop to that return right at the 30 yd line boy state has it back ready to go to work on offense quick hand off finds his way for three out to the 33 that's exactly the start you want when you're on offense in this situation 4minute offense I'm not worried about scoring I'm not worried about getting a bunch of first downs I need two I need two first downs and I'm going to let that clock tick and I walk out of here with the w got three on first down it's second and seven hand off from the gun One Step W twep squeeze this junior knows how to get him on the ground how bold will they be on third down after that last run trying to pick it up on the ground and he gets it to the 45 yd line and that'll be a first down this guy's been special today coming into this one they thought they had an opportunity really to get him going running the football and he has delivered you've seen the speed the vision his ability to break tackles well over 100 rushing yards in this game and why they have a nice lead here late the Broncos will snap it on First and 10 looking for room it's Genty and a decent gain there before the defense makes the stop halfway there on first down it's second and five to the ground with the back a solid pick up there before the defense is able to make the stop they plow ahead with the run but still more ground needed to pick up the first down third down coming off the RPO fire right trying to convert they've it inside the 40 at the 39 as they pick up the first down he has been the go-to guy on offense all game long and under critical third down here in the fourth quarter surprise surprise guess who they go to that guy and the Broncos are flying down the field hand off to the single back put him in the spin cycle and the defense holds firm no pickup at all on that play great job a contained by this defense and in order to do that the end man on the line of scrimmage defensively has got to be able to set the point and force the football back into traffic and that's exactly what happened there they got nothing on the last play it's second and 10 he'll do it himself and he's almost to that first down marker there saying he's a little bit short they might want to bring out the sticks and measure but it looks as if he'll be just short of the first down they probably feel good about their field goal chances from the 29 but they'd love to convert this third and short gives it to the back on the draw that just never had a chance as they controlled the middle of the field and stopped him in the back field on third down well the defense finally able to make a play getting a tackle for loss they haven't had many of those today because this running back really has answered the Bell they knew coming in they were going to have to give him the football for Speed it to him and let him go to work he's done that well over a 100 yards rushing in this game and the defense just has not had the answers consistently for him they're really starting to extend that lead as they get ready to kick it away again and they thought about a return Then thought better of it they'll bring it out out to the 25 Georgia Southern has it back and here comes the offense again they hope to be able to cash in on this drive David after having to punt it last time yeah and I think this offense needs to start it with the first play you need to be successful and productive on that first play and it get you in less predictable situations no doubt too don't you just feel like there's a little bit more sense of urgency on this drive it just feels like they've got to be able to put some points up on the board here last incompletion leaves him still sitting at their own 25 with second and 10 throws to the wide out got his Man Down field found a bunch of room and got it to the 44 yd line nice play design on that one you make it easy for your quarterback too because it's easy to see what's happening right in front of you over the middle of the field you can see where Defenders are dropping you can see where the soft spots are in zone coverage and just a really nice job by the QB locating his guide making an accurate throw he'll come out throwing on first down fires to the wide out it's complete they've got it inside the 30 they'll mark it at the 28 it's first down and there was no question in that scenario that's where the quarterback was going he knew he had his receiver in a matchup that he liked running a route where he would find himself opening nice job between those two from the gun they'll try to to impose their will really nice run there good solid pick up and they'll move the sticks with a first down a huge game um probably would have loved to say this earlier in the game probably would have L to have some of these runs and had a little bit more success running the football earlier now I might think about maybe cranking the tempo and and probably if I'm going to need these runs I'm going to need to go ahead and score on these runs or I'm going to need to start chucking the football right back to the well and a good solid pick up the defense Cuts him down operating in the Red Zone here on second down they'll give it to the back they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one and sometimes for the defense it just takes one play right to create some momentum obviously this guy's been eating him up he's got over a 100 yards rushing on the day but finally David they get something positive here in the Run game defensively but you kind of know that coming in he's going to get his such a great back and he's had a great day need to put more plays together like that right there into the end zone and it's caught for a touchdown they're going to play this one through to the end but this is pretty much window dressing good for them they put together a drive they they got a touch down it's been a bad day I mean this is a day they going to want to forget they're getting destroyed but at least you get some positive vibes maybe maybe finish this game on a little bit a high note a little [Music] bit on to attempt the try smashes it through for the P that is an efficient drive seven plays 75 yards and they finish things off with an eight- yd toss for the score about to kick it off after punching it in for the touchdown here's the return from inside is 10 just never had a chance to shake loose and he'll be brought down at the 24 State ready to send out that offense Jesse they had to kick a field goal the last time they had it yeah often times early in games you're just trying to find your Rhythm some things work some don't on that first drive Dave it' be interesting to see what happens here in the second Drive yeah you got to feel for the defense now you understand what they're trying to do what their game plan is now you get to go into phase two of your game plan got six on first down now a lot of options on second and four they'll keep it on the ground trying to milk for clock we reached the two-minute warning and this offense will be quite content just to drain the rest of the time away it's first and 10 for this offense from the 42 they go to the ground breaks the tackle and this is exactly where you want to be as an offensive coordinator like when you've got the lead late in the football game just run the football eat the clock man they put a good day together they they they've had a they've had their way with this defense a lot of positive things to point to this is one of those weeks when you watch tape it's going to be really fun to watch it not like when you get beat up a lot of big plays from this offense out of the gun to give to the back and he has a solid gain before the defense bottles him up and the def is still fighting they they haven't had the day that they dreamed of you know talking to the coaches coming into the game like they thought they had a good plan they'd be ready to attack and and and limit some of the damage this offense has done they haven't done it today though they got to go back to the drawing board figure some things out because this wasn't a great day on Third and short they'll ride the running back here that'll get the job done and move the chains and they'll Mark the ball at the 45 the def knew coming into this one it was going to be a physical game guys are going to have to be great at the point of attack and get off blocks and make tackles they couldn't stop the offense for picking up that first down on that run play the Broncos will snap it on First and 10 the give and he'll be tackled and that'll bring us to the end of the game for for
