seems like there's more pressure he's more calm and settles in he's done an incredible job with runners in scoring position most guys they get a little tight they start to aim the baseball but for some reason he gets looser the ball comes out of his hand with more life and he's able to wiggle off the hook of you know tough situations and get his team back in the [Applause] Dugout that one's upstairs ball one and the count is one and two and that skips in dir the wine of the pitch gets a piece there we'll do it again and the righty deals slang and a miss struck him out and one out now he just ran out of patience there he took a couple of pitches to even that count up at two balls and two strikes but that time chased outside the [Applause] zone so diing in Zack Netto and that's off the Inside Edge one and0 Netto measures 6 feet even 185 lbs a former first round pick in 2022 this one high in the air to left [Applause] Center and makes the grab two away all right let's take a look look at the Angels lot they do a lot of things well in this offense zingy they control the strike zone they make pitchers work hard for outs and as a result one of the better OBP teams in the league well what I love about it is it's an organizational philosophy whether you go to instructional League whether you go to spring training you see these guys even during batting practice when it doesn't matter they're practicing that type of approach Boo and when you have that filtering through the organization even when you call up a player he steps right in and continues with the pattern that they have established at this level which ultimately leads to a lot of success two down do on that's a [Applause] ball right through there for a strike you know you translate on base percentage it's basically this teams that have a high on base percentage they don't make outs at a very high rate as my buddy Joe Sheen says OBP is like two- one pitch is in there and the count is [Applause] even and ball one the strategy of winning a ball game when you could make that pitcher work a little more expose himself by throwing pitches that could be the key to winning perhaps later on so good job of pitch count is starting to get up there and that might be the best news yet for this offense and a foul ball you know sometimes all it takes is getting to the next arm before an offense does any tough for them to make contact at times and it just doesn't look like they're seeing it very well as a group and on the mound you know confidence has to be pretty high with all of the swings and on the change well you see him trying to pull that inside pitch right there and that's not the kind of approach that you want to have even if you do get to it it's going to be very difficult to keep the catcher comes up to him Freddy forine this is a guy who is very highly regarded defensively fun to watch him control stuff behind the plate good game caller good at framing but it's that big arm that really stands out Off the Mark there ball one yeah and because he's got the big harm he pays attention to the running game and is sure to manage it that's outside and it's two and0 you have a catcher that can throw like that a pitcher doesn't have to worry as much about the slide step he can keep his mechanics intact and have a better opportunity of getting that hitter out with a swing and Miss well that was one of those High Advantage counts where batting averages are just so much higher that's a good sound coming off the bat and as he connected out into the out field that's one of those swings where you just don't even feel the ball hit the barrel that's a poor stroke and next up for the Royals Garrett [Applause] hson and that one a little below the knees and that's ball one [Applause] rander kick steals B oh he doesn't get the call and that's ball [Music] two right through there for a strike if you're a base runner you got to stay dialed in here look for anything in the dirt try your best to get in the scoring position and fouled off the two strikes may see some movement over there at first base trying to stay out of the double play right here and another ball on righty deals and that's in for a stke wow we call that keyho even though it's right there and looks pretty good if he doesn't love it he's not going to swing that early in the count that misses the zone and that's ball one that's a really good job of laying off the O2 High fast ball is going to make that pitcher really have to respect this hitter even though he's behind in the count all tied up and we're in the top of the eight and that one is lifted in the air it gets down the base [Applause] hit always feels amazing getting a job done when the team needs you to come it's just bigger than your own individual stats looked around that pitch on the outside but he was still able to square it up pretty nicely and that takes quick strong risk to pull that off one down runner at first and the batter now Zack nto and a strike oh and one the1 and that's in there at the knees good appr right there you want to get something just a little higher that you can Elevate stay out on that double play on the ground oh great stop on a second to get one to First not in time great effort there well there's a lot riding on that in Bat right there nice job with a pitcher to Bear Down make the pitch get
